The match was the first at home for Ossie Ardiles and Ricardo Villa and they were welcomed in a hail of tickertape (or more realistically, ripped up newspaper).  Much was expected, but little achieved on a night when Villa (of the Aston kind) took the honours with a convincing win.  The huge crowd that crammed into the ground left wondering how much impact the Argentinians might make.
