1948 Spurs were leading until the 86th minute, when a Blackpool goal took the game into extra time.  The goal deflated Spurs and Blackpool ran out easy winners in the remaining period of the game.  The biggest crowd anywhere for a Spurs v Blackpool match watched at Villa Park = 70,687

1982 An early Steve Archibald goal gave Spurs the lead for most of this game, but a missed chance by the same player resulted in the ball being transferred to the other end and Liverpool grabbing an equaliser with three minutes remaining.  Liverpool were inspired by their last chance goal and in the extra time took the Cup from a demoralised Spurs team.  

It was the first Cup final defeat for Spurs in this country and also the club's first defeat at Wembley.

2002 For the second league game running, Spurs lose 0-4 away and Mauricio Taricco is sent off for the second time in consecutive league games too.
