Having fallen on hard times, Spurs legend Danny Blanchflower
was awarded a benefit match in which Spurs took on a Northern Ireland
XI. It was a fun game more than anything else and it was made more
so by Paul Gascoigne, who let his comedic talents run free. He was
making all sorts of gags, from wearing outsized clown shoes to taking a
penalty kick by putting his right foot around the back of his left to
score !! It was a marvellous night and the crowd who turned up to
see it were treated to a very enjoyable match and the money went to help
Danny in his last few years of life. |
