   The Metro is the first paper following Tottenham's failure to gain Champions League football next season to start the clear out, with Real Madrid supposedly interested in Luka Modric.

   Spurs will play in the Europa League nest season after Chelsea tonight beat Bayern Munich on penalties to win the Champions league and will defend the trophy next season.
   The Sun have cast doubts over Tottenham's rumoured £18 million interest in Marseille striker Loic Remy amid concerns over a possible heart defect.
   Fulham striker Moussa Dembele is said to be ready to turn down a new contract offer from the Cottagers and move on in the summer, with Spurs, Arsenal and Manchester United all interested in the Belgian.

   Spurs are said by the Daily Mirror to be ready to make a move for 28 year old Ivory Coast striker Arouna Kone, who will be available on a free transfer after leaving Sevilla.
   Steve Perryman is reported to be sitting up for the first time since he was admitted to hospital following his collapse at an Exeter City game three weeks ago.

   Three Spurs players have made the England 23 man squad for the European Championships in Poland and Ukraine next month.  Jermain Defoe and Scott Parker are both in the squad, with Kyle Walker missing out with his broken toe.
   In the Daily Mirror, they report that Luka Modric has spoken out about possibly leaving Spurs after the Euro 2012 finals.
   TalkSport claim that Spurs, Arsenal and QPR are all standing by after Juventus striker Alessandro del Pierro told the Italian press that he ahs a desire to play in the Premier League and can leave on a free transfer in the summer.  Now 37, he said that he is considering three offers from English clubs.
   The London Evening Standard carry a piece stating that Jan Vertonghen is set to stick to his quotes made to the press and join Spurs despite the fact that they may not be in the Champions League, but, with personal terms agreed, the clubs are still £2 million apart on the fee for the central defender, with Ajax wanting £10 million.
   In the same paper, Emmanuel Adebayor said he would like to play for Spurs in the Champions League.  He said he would leave negotiations to his agent, but if things could be worked out, he would like to try and progress with the club, who, if he doesn't return, will still "stay in his heart".

   Younes Kaboul will miss Euro 2012 finals after injuring his knee against Fulham in the last game of the season.
   The London Evening Standard report that Marseille striker Loic Remy is awaiting the outcome of the Champions League final before deciding if he will join Tottenham.  While Spur shave been pursuing him for a long while, AC Milan and Juventus are watching his situation.

   Scott Parker might miss out on the 2012 European Championships, with his on-going sore Achilles causing concern over his fitness for the tournament.
   Newly promoted Reading are seeking to make a move for Spurs striker Jermain Defoe to spearhead their return to the Premier League according to the Metro.
   The paper claim that Everton have made an approach to Spurs to complete the permanent return of Steven Pienaar to Goodison Park ,where he has been on loan since January.
   Spurs are keen on the 32 year old West Ham United keeper Robert Green on a free transfer it says in the Metro.
   TalkSport reckon that Spurs are one of a number of clubs, including Manchester United and Arsenal,  looking at Borussia Dortmund's Japanese midfielder Shinji Kagawa.

   TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR TEAM NEWS : -  Scott Parker is a big doubt for the game, as he struggles to overcome a calf injury, but Tottenham will still be missing Tom Huddlestone (ankle), Michael Dawson (ankle), Niko Kranjcar (knee), Benoit Assou-Ekotto (shoulder/knee) and also the suspended Danny Rose.
   FULHAM TEAM NEWS : - Striker Clint Dempsey is a doubt with a groin injury, while Dickson Etuhu (knee), Zdenek Grygera (knee), Bryan Ruiz (foot), Andy Johnson (thigh) and Steve Sidwell (hernia) are all side-lined, with former Spurs midfielder Simon Davies likely to miss out too.
  During his pre-match press conference today, Harry Redknapp denied Spurs had agreed a £32 million deal for Gareth Bale to join Barcelona.
   The Daily Mirror claims that Spurs are lining up Birmingham City goalkeeper Ben Foster as a challenger and eventual replacement for Brad Friedel.
   New York Red Bulls are said to be willing to tempt Emmanuel Adebayor to America to team up with Thierry Henry, thus putting a permanent move to Tottenham in doubt, it says in the Metro.

   Ajax defender Jan Verthongen has urged his club not to price him out of a move to Tottenham according to the Daily Telegraph.
   Benoit Assou-Ekotto has denied statements attributed to him in the French press that said he would not be stopped from leaving if a big club came in for him and they could guarantee him Champions League football.  The left back's comments contained a mention that he had such a "gentleman's agreement" with Daniel Levy and this was refuted and came on the back of the problems earlier this season when Luka Modric claimed he had a similar agreement to leave the club.

   The Metro report that Spurs target Loic Remy has said that he intends to stay at Marseille, but that the financial situation at the club might mean that the French striker has to be sold.
   Ajax defender Jan Verthongen could be heading for White Hart Lane according to the Daily Mail, but the Mirror reckons Manchester United might come in for the Belgian centre half.  However, the player says that he knows something is going on with Spurs, but that other clubs are in for him and the important thing is that he is a regular in the team and that the club he moves to is stable and plays good football 
   Former Spurs striker Nick Barmby was sacked as manager of Hull City today, for comments he made to the press about the financial situation at the club.  Barmby intends to appeal the decision.

   The Daily Mirror claims that Manchester United will challenge Spurs for the signing of Crewe Alexandra wonder-kid - midfielder Nick Powell.  The feted best product of the Crewe youth system is said also to interest Arsenal and Chelsea, but the paper reckons Spurs are the favourites to snap up the 19 year old.

   TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR TEAM NEWS : -  Spurs will be without Benoit Assou-Ekotto (knee), Niko Kranjcar (knee), Tom Huddlestone (ankle) and Michael Dawson (ankle) for Sunday's game at Villa Park, but Harry Redknapp revealed that Kyle Walker has a broken toe although he will play after an injection and Scott Parker trained ahead of the match and hopes he might be able to play after resting his Achilles tendon strain.
   ASTON VILLA TEAM NEWS : -  Stephen Ireland has recovered from a hip operation, but Darren Bent's recovery from an ankle ligament injury rules him out and Stilian Petrov is suffering with Leukaemia.  Fabian Delph's season is over after suffering an ankle injury.
   Harry Redknapp missing out on the England manager's job has allowed him to become part of the BBC's team for the 2012 European Championship coverage.
   In the Telegraph, they claim that Spurs and Arsenal are both after Ajax defender Jan Verthongen, Blackburn Rovers striker Junior Hoilett and Lille's midfielder Eden Hazard.  The piece also claims Tottenham have Fulham's Moussa Dembele on their shopping list.
   The Sun report that Manchester City's owners have sanctioned a £40 million plus deal for Gareth Bale, which would include cash plus Emmanuel Adebayor and either Nigel de Jong or Adam Johnson.

   Kyle Walker has signed a new deal extending his contract by a year to the summer of 2017.
   Harry Redknapp revealed today that he has been watching Jan Verthonghen of Ajax for a while, but admitted he had been joined by a lot of other clubs, as he thins about signing the Belgian defender.
   The  Spurs boss also told the BBC that he would like to sign striker Emmanuel Adebayor on a permanent deal at the end of the season if there is money available form qualification for the Champions League.
   Redknapp has said that he feels he will never get the chance to be England manager now, with the job having been handed to Roy Hodgson on a four year deal, leaving Redknapp too old when it might come up for grabs again.
   TalkSport claim that Tottenham will be up against Benfica and Internazionale in their attempt to sign PSV Eindhoven 21 year old playmaker Georginio Wijnaldum, who is rated at £20 million according to a Portuguese newspaper.
   The first chairman of the Premier League and Spurs season ticket holder, Sir John Quinton died today aged 82.  A former Chairman of Barclay's, Sir John was the head man at the Premier League form it's inception in 1991 until 1999.  Our condolences and thoughts go to his family and friends at this sad time.

   TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR TEAM NEWS : -   Tottenham have worries over Aaron Lennon (ankle), Scott Parker (Achilles) and Louis Saha.  Definitely out are Niko Kranjcar (knee), Michael Dawson (ankle), Tom Huddlestone (ankle) and Benoit Assou-Ekotto (knee).  It will mean another start for Danny Rose at left back and Sandro will probably continue in midfield with the possibility of a rare start for Giovani dos Santos if Lennon doesn't make it.  Alternatively, Harry Redknapp could play Jermain Defoe up front alongside Emmanuel Adebayor instead.
   BOLTON WANDERERS TEAM NEWS : -   Gretar Steinsson has been ill and is a doubt for the game, while Darren Pratley's virus may rule him out.  Nigel Reo-Coker limped off in the Trotters' last match against Sunderland and is a doubt for the game too.  Ricardo Gardner (hip), Fabrice Muamba (cardiac arrest), Chung-Yong Lee (broken leg), Tyrone Mears (knee) and Stuart Holden (knee) are all unavailable for selection.

   Gareth Bale told BBC's Football Focus that he will consider his future if Spurs do not qualify for the Champions League next season.
   Tottenham are being linked with talks for FC Porto's £35 million Brazilian striker Hulk, with Manchester City, Chelsea and Liverpool also rumoured to be interested according to the Daily Mail.
   TalkSport report that Spurs and Newcastle United are considering a move for Javi Marquez, the 25 year old Espanyol midfielder, who has turned down a new offer of a deal from his club.  Atletico Madrid are also interested in the player who ahs missed a lot of this season with injury.
   Steven Pienaar's agent has told the Liverpool Echo that Everton have not yet opened talks with Tottenham about a permanent move back to Goodison Park.  Stoke City and QPR were interested in taking him on loan in January, but clubs from Europe might now be interested in the South African midfielder and Spurs are asking for £6 million - twice what they paid Everton for him.
   The Daily Mirror claims that Spurs, Manchester United and Liverpool were chasing Swansea City midfielder Joe Allen, but he has said he will stay at the Liberty Stadium.
   Spurs Under-18s drew 2-2 at Aston Villa in the FA Premier League today, with their goals coming from Souleymane Coulibaly and Kevin Stewart.

   TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR TEAM NEWS : -  Spurs will be without Benoit Assou-Ekotto, who dislocated his shoulder against QPR last week and has an on-going knee problem, so will not play again this season.  However, Ledley King will play in defence, with Younes Kaboul fit to feature again, as is striker Emmanuel Adebayor.  Spurs are still without long term injuries to Tom Huddlestone (ankle), Michael Dawson (ankle) and Niko Kranjcar (knee), Louis Saha (groin) are all missing.
   BLACKBURN ROVERS TEAM NEWS : -  Steve Kean has a full squad to choose from now Simon Vukcevic has recovered from a virus, although Grant Hanley will miss the remainder of the campaign with an ankle ligament injury.
   In the Daily Mail, they claim Spurs and Arsenal are watching the situation of 29 year old Clint Dempsey at Fulham, with Everton thought to be ready to make the first move for the American striker.
   A big day for Spurs in the Mail today, with them reporting that Harry Redknapp saying that Tottenham tried to sign Carlos Tevez in the January transfer window, but the move wasn't "doable", probably due to the players wage demands, but chairman Daniel Levy did make tentative enquiries as to the Argentinian striker's availability.
   The same paper reports that Spurs looked to put Tom Huddlestone out on loan at their American partner club San Jose Earthquakes, to give him some match time, but the deal fell through because the MLS would not allow it.
   The Mail carries a response to a question at the training ground press conference, where Harry Redknapp denied flatly that he had a row with Emmanuel Adebayor, as had been reported elsewhere.

Thinking Inside The Box - Reflections On Life As A Premier League Footballer" at Waterstones in Jubilee Place, Canary Wharf in London on Monday 30th April from 13:00.  The book costs £14.99 and half of all profits will got to the European Leukodystrophy Association charity.
   The Daily Mail link former England boss Fabio Capello with the prospective vacant jobs at Chelsea and Tottenham in the summer, with the Italian claiming he is not ready to retire and that he is in love with London.

   MEHSTG's spin story ... Following the news that John Terry will be allowed to go up and collect the Champions League trophy, should Chelsea win it, despite being banned from the final, UEFA have announced that the final venue has been moved to Stamford Bridge and the referee for the match will be Martin Atkinson.

   The Times report that midfielder Eden Hazard of Lille will only consider a move to White Hart Lane if Spurs qualify for the Champions League.
   Chelsea striker Salomon Kalou could be a summer target for Spurs and Besiktas according to the Daily Mail.
   The Sun claim that Swansea City goalkeeper Michel Vorm has said he is happy at the liberty Stadium despite interest from Manchester United, Spurs and Chelsea.

   A Spurs XI lost 0-1 at Spurs Lodge to QPR today.
   The Daily Mirror claims that a bust up between Harry Redknapp and Emmanuel Adebayor about the forward's drop off in form and this means Spurs are unlikely to permanently sign the Togo international from Manchester City at the end of the season.

   Some good news for Spurs at last !!  Congratulations to Kyle Walker who has won the PFA Young Player of the Year award.
   Kyle Walker, Scott Parker and Gareth Bale were all included in the PFA Premier League Team of the Year at the awards for 2012.
   The Sunday Mirror report that Spurs want to offer Ledley King a new one year contract to continue playing for the club next season.
   The paper also say that Tottenham are looking to sign 25 year old French goalkeeper Hugo Lloris for £10 million from Olympique Lyonnais in the summer.

   Tottenham lost 0-1 to Queens Park Rangers at Loftus Road this evening.  For a match report, click here.
   Spurs are said to be trying to persuade Luka Modric to stay at White Hart Lane with an improved contract to prevent him moving to Chelsea or Manchester City, the Sun report.
   The paper also claims Spurs will make a move for Leicester City goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel in the summer.  Bundesliga side Schalke 04 are also interested in the 25 year old former Leeds United and Notts. County goalie.
   The Under-18s had a good away win 5-2 at Norwich City today.  The goals were scored by Jack Munns, Kenneth McEvoy, Jack Barthram, Kevin Stewart and Souleymane Coulibaly.

   TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR TEAM NEWS : -  Younes Kaboul's knee injury keeps him out of Saturday's match against QPR at Loftus Road and he is joined on the sidelines by Niko Kranjcar, who also has a knee injury, but his will rule him out for the rest of the season.  Tottenham are also without Heurelho Gomes (knee), Tom Huddlestone and Michael Dawson (both ankle) and there are doubt over three or four players who have knocks from Sunday's FA Cup semi-final, so late decisions on their inclusion will be made on Saturday.
   QUEENS PARK RANGERS TEAM NEWS : -  Long term injured played Alejandro Faurlin (knee) and Kieron Dyer (ankle) both miss out, but there are few other injury worries for Mark Hughes.  Forward Djibril Cisse is available again after suspension .
   The Metro claims Spurs and Liverpool will chase 21 year old Wigan Athletic winger Victor Moses at the end of the season, with the former Crystal Palace man refusing to sign a new deal.
   The Metro also reckons Spurs will be in for Newcastle United striker Demba Ba in the summer, with or without Harry Redknapp in the manager's office.  It is hoped they might snap him up for a fee of around £7 million as his contract has a get out clause.  Spurs might also try to involve Sebastien Bassong or Niko Kranjcar in a part exchange deal.
   Rafael van der Vaart has told the Metro that one day he would like to return to Holland to play in the Eredivisie again to give something back to the league where he started his career.

   The Daily Star claim that Alex Ferguson has £40 million rated Luka Modric as his top summer transfer target for Manchester United.
   Spurs are said in the Daily Mail to be looking to sign Solomon Kalou on a free transfer as the 26 year old Chelsea striker is out of contract in the summer.

   The Metro claim that Gareth Bale will be a £30 million target for Barcelona in the summer.
   In the Daily Telegraph, Croatia boss Slaven Bilic reckons that many more clubs than Chelsea will be in for Luka Modric at the end of the season as teams in Italy and Spain are aware of his situation and that he told him at the start of this season that if he continued to play well, then his chance to leave Tottenham would come.
   In the Sun, on loan Andros Townsend says he would welcome a permanent move to Birmingham City after being put out on loan by Spurs on eight occasions.
   The Under-18s beat Coventry City 3-0 at Spurs Lodge this morning with the goals being scored by Victor Zapata-Caceido, Souleymane Coulibaly and Kenneth McEvoy.

   TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR TEAM NEWS : -   There could be a surprise inclusion of David Bentley on the bench after resuming training after knee surgery, as Harry Redknapp tries to gather seven players as substitutes. Younes Kaboul and Niko Kranjcar have knee knocks and are rules out, while Ledley King will be given a late fitness test after playing on Monday.  Also out are long term injury victims Tom Huddlestone (ankle), Michael Dawson (ankle) and Heurelho Gomes (knee).
    CHELSEA TEAM NEWS : -  Ashley Cole has recovered from a sprained ankle and is fit for the match on Sunday, while John Terry (cracked ribs) has been given the go-ahead to play.  Oriel Romeu has been ill and won't be considered, while Ryan Bertrand's calf muscle pull rules him out.  Branislav Ivanovic will be serving the first of a three match ban for getting sent off against Wigan Athletic for violent conduct.

   The Daily Express claims that Ledley King has not yet been offered an extension to his one year rolling contract at Spurs.

   Swansea City boss Brendan Rodgers has said that eh is not thinking about becoming Spurs manager as his focus is on his current club and he hopes to keep central defender Steven Caulker on loan at the Liberty Stadium for next season, after the 20 year old has done so well this campaign.

   Gareth Bale has made comments which have been widely construed that he will be leaving Spurs.  The Welsh midfielder said that if Barcelona or Real Madrid came in for him, he would find it hard to turn down such an offer, as it would be like Harry Redknapp being offered the England manager's job.  However, most reports pay little attention to the end of his piece when he says that he is focused only on Tottenham at the moment.
   The Metro reckon Spurs are lining up Ecuadorian Christian Rameirez, who was a star of the Under-17 World Cup, when the attacking left back reaches 18 in August for £1.5 million.

   MEHSTG's spin story ... It appears Mario Balotelli may be on his way out of Manchester City after a series of gate-crashing incidents.  First he crashed his car into a gate, then he burst on stage when the new AC Milan manager, before crashing in on Aleksander Kolorov's free-kick in Saturday's game against Sunderland.  The final straw came when he nearly came to blows with Yaya Toure in the dressing room, after Balotelli gate-crashed the Ivory Coast man's half time oranges.

   Spurs are said to be favourites to land Independiente central defender Julian Velasquez for £4 million in the summer according to the Metro.  The 21 year old Argentinian is also being chased by AS Roma and Lazio.
   It will cost Spurs £4 million should they make a move for Swansea City manager Brendan Rodgers to replace Harry Redknapp, if he gets the England job, the Sunday Mirror tells us today.
   The Telegraph runs a piece on Harry Redknapp's thoughts on Brendan Rodgers and hints that midfielder Tom Carroll might follow in Steven Caulker's footsteps and spend a season on loan at the Liberty Stadium next campaign to continue his progress.
   The Sun claims Spurs are aiming to sign Lassana Diarra from Real Madrid for £8 million.  The 27 year old is not happy at the lack of first team football at the Bernabeu, but Paris St. Germain are also interested in the midfielder
   Tottenham have added another couple of dates to their American tour with a match up against an exhibition game against the San Antonio Spurs on July 26th, with a return at basketball the next day.  It is hoped that this will lead to a profitable link-up with the successful Texas organisation.
   A statement issued at 11:00 hrs this morning by Bradford Bulls hit out at Tottenham, who they allege had pledged the profit from curries sold at the ground towards the Rugby League's fighting fund as they seek to raise £1 million in two weeks.  There appears to be no grounds to this story as the first part of the sentence outlines.
