Three Spurs players have made the England 23 man squad for
the European Championships in Poland and Ukraine next month.
Jermain Defoe and Scott Parker are both in the
squad, with Kyle Walker missing out with his broken
toe.
In the Daily Mirror, they report that Luka Modric has
spoken out about possibly leaving Spurs after the Euro 2012
finals.
TalkSport claim that Spurs, Arsenal and QPR are all standing
by after Juventus striker Alessandro del Pierro told
the Italian press that he ahs a desire to play in the
Premier League and can leave on a free transfer in the
summer. Now 37, he said that he is considering three
offers from English clubs.
The London Evening Standard carry a piece stating that
Jan Vertonghen is set to stick to his quotes made to the
press and join Spurs despite the fact that they may not be
in the Champions League, but, with personal terms agreed,
the clubs are still £2 million apart on the fee for the
central defender, with Ajax wanting £10 million.
In the same paper, Emmanuel Adebayor said he would
like to play for Spurs in the Champions League. He
said he would leave negotiations to his agent, but if things
could be worked out, he would like to try and progress with
the club, who, if he doesn't return, will still "stay in his
heart".

Newly promoted Reading are seeking to make a move for Spurs
striker Jermain Defoe to spearhead their return to

The paper claim that Everton have made an approach to Spurs
to complete the permanent return of Steven Pienaar to

a big doubt for the game, as he struggles to overcome a calf
injury, but Tottenham will still be missing Tom
Huddlestone (ankle), Michael Dawson (ankle),

Ajax defender Jan Verthongen has urged his club not
to price him out of a move to Tottenham according to the
Daily Telegraph.
Benoit Assou-Ekotto has denied statements attributed
to him in the French press that said he would not be stopped
from leaving if a big club came in for him and they could
guarantee him Champions League football. The left
back's comments contained a mention that he had such a
"gentleman's agreement" with Daniel Levy and this was
refuted and came on the back of the problems earlier this
season when Luka Modric claimed he had a similar
agreement to leave the club.

The Metro report that Spurs target Loic Remy has said
that he intends to stay at Marseille, but that the financial
situation at the club might mean that the French striker has
to be sold.
Ajax defender Jan Verthongen could be heading for
White Hart Lane according to the Daily Mail, but the Mirror
reckons Manchester United might come in for the Belgian
centre half. However, the player says that he knows
something is going on with Spurs, but that other clubs are
in for him and the important thing is that he is a regular
in the team and that the club he moves to is stable and
plays good football
Former Spurs striker Nick Barmby was sacked as
manager of Hull City today, for comments he made to the
press about the financial situation at the club.
Barmby intends to appeal the decision.

job has allowed him to become part of the BBC's team for the
2012 European Championship coverage.

Kyle Walker has signed a new deal extending his
contract by a year to the summer of 2017.
Harry Redknapp revealed today that he has been
watching Jan Verthonghen of Ajax for a while, but
admitted he had been joined by a lot of other clubs, as he
thins about signing the Belgian defender.
The Spurs boss also told the BBC that he would like to
sign striker Emmanuel Adebayor on a permanent deal at
the end of the season if there is money available form
qualification for the Champions League.
Redknapp has said that he feels he will never get the
chance to be England manager now, with the job having been
handed to Roy Hodgson on a four year deal, leaving Redknapp
too old when it might come up for grabs again.
TalkSport claim that Tottenham will be up against Benfica
and Internazionale in their attempt to sign PSV Eindhoven 21
year old playmaker Georginio Wijnaldum, who is rated
at £20 million according to a Portuguese newspaper.
The first chairman of the Premier League and Spurs season
ticket holder, Sir John Quinton died today aged 82.
A former Chairman of Barclay's, Sir John was the head man at
the Premier League form it's inception in 1991 until 1999.

consider his future if Spurs do not qualify for the

Tottenham are being linked with talks for FC Porto's £35
million Brazilian striker Hulk, with Manchester City,

considering a move for Javi Marquez, the 25 year old

Benoit Assou-Ekotto, who dislocated his shoulder
against QPR last week and has an on-going knee problem, so
will not play again this season. However, Ledley

the situation of 29 year old Clint Dempsey at Fulham,

A big day for Spurs in the Mail today, with them reporting
that Harry Redknapp saying that Tottenham tried to
sign Carlos Tevez in the January transfer window, but
the move wasn't "doable", probably due to the players wage
demands, but chairman Daniel Levy did make tentative
enquiries as to the Argentinian striker's availability.
The same paper reports that Spurs looked to put Tom
Huddlestone out on loan at their American partner club
San Jose Earthquakes, to give him some match time, but the
deal fell through because the MLS would not allow it.
The Mail carries a response to a question at the training
ground press conference, where Harry Redknapp denied flatly
that he had a row with Emmanuel Adebayor, as had been
reported elsewhere.

knee injury keeps him out of Saturday's match against QPR at
Loftus Road and he is joined on the sidelines by Niko
Kranjcar, who also has a knee injury, but his will rule
him out for the rest of the season. Tottenham are also
without Heurelho Gomes (knee), Tom Huddlestone
and Michael Dawson (both ankle) and there are doubt
over three or four players who have knocks from Sunday's FA
Cup semi-final, so late decisions on their inclusion will be
made on Saturday.
QUEENS PARK RANGERS TEAM NEWS : - Long term injured
played Alejandro Faurlin (knee) and Kieron Dyer (ankle) both
miss out, but there are few other injury worries for Mark
Hughes. Forward Djibril Cisse is available again after
suspension .
The Metro claims Spurs and Liverpool will chase 21 year old
Wigan Athletic winger Victor Moses at the end of the
season, with the former Crystal Palace man refusing to sign
a new deal.
The Metro also reckons Spurs will be in for Newcastle United
striker Demba Ba in the summer, with or without
Harry Redknapp in the manager's office. It is
hoped they might snap him up for a fee of around £7 million
as his contract has a get out clause. Spurs might also
try to involve Sebastien Bassong or Niko Kranjcar
in a part exchange deal.
Rafael van der Vaart has told the Metro that one day
he would like to return to Holland to play in the Eredivisie
again to give something back to the league where he started
his career.

The Metro claim that Gareth Bale will be a £30

In the Daily Telegraph, Croatia boss Slaven Bilic reckons
that many more clubs than Chelsea will be in for Luka

midfielder said that if Barcelona or Real Madrid came in for
him, he would find it hard to turn down such an offer, as it

The Sun claims Spurs are aiming to sign Lassana Diarra
