Emmanuel Mbola said he hopes that he will be joining
Spurs soon after being on trial last week and returning soon
for more time with the squad. The 16 year old Zambian
defender is currently in dispute with his Armenian club
Pyunik Yerevan, but hopes the matter can be resolved, with
the Zambian FA involved as the player may have been asked to
sign a contract at the age of 15.
Jermain Defoe and Peter Crouch have been
included in the England squad for the friendly against Egypt
at Wembley on Wednesday.

The virus circulating among the Tottenham players and staff
has now claimed 18 victims, with the Spurs Lodge training
ground being closed off and deep-cleaned to try to kill off
the virus causing the problem. Vedran Corluka
and Wilson Palacios appear to be the worst hit, while
several Academy players are suffering sickness and
diarrhoea.
TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR TEAM NEWS : - Spurs will definitely
be without Carlo Cudicini (hip and wrists),
Jonathan Woodgate (groin), Aaron Lennon (groin),
Ledley King (thigh) and Jermaine Jenas (groin)
for Sunday's encounter with Everton, while doubts exist over
the availability of Jermain Defoe (hamstring) and
Peter Crouch (foot).

will be missing after tearing a thigh muscle in Sunday's win
at Wigan Athletic and he joins Benoit Assou-Ekotto
(hip), Carlo Cudicini (hip and wrists), Jermaine
Jenas (groin), Jonathan Woodgate (groin) and Aaron
Lennon (groin) on the injury list. Added to that
Younes Kaboul and Kyle Walker are cup-tied,
although Eidur Gudjohnsen can play.
BOLTON WANDERERS TEAM NEWS : - The Trotters will be
missing Vladimir Weiss and Jack Wilshere (cup-tied),
Gretar Steinsson (calf), Chris Basham (knee), Gavin McCann
(ankle/foot), Sean Davis (knee), Joey O'Brien (knee), Mark
Davies (knee) and Gary Cahill
(arm), so sitting in the
bottom three of the Premier League, Owen Coyle may change
the team to play some fringe players and keep his first
teamers fresh for more important battles to come.

Aaron Lennon's groin injury has been aggravated in
training and he is set to be side-lined for at least another
few weeks, although the club hope he will feature before the
end of the season.
Defenders Kyle Naughton and Kyle Walker have
been called up into the England Under-21 squad to play
Greece in a European Championship qualifier at Doncaster
Rovers FC on Wednesday 3rd March.
West Ham United missed out as Harry Redknapp moved to sign
Zambia's 16-year-old left back Emmanuel Mbola from
Armenian side Yerevan for a fee of £1 million.
The youngster has 20 international caps already and was the
youngest player at the African Cup of Nations in Angola last
month.
Former Spurs midfielder Michael Brown clashed on the
Portsmouth training pitch with Jamie O'Hara, who is
on loan to the cash-strapped South Coast club, following a
heavy challenge on O'Hara. Team-mates are reported to
have had to pull them apart.

is a doubt for the game at the JJB on Sunday, with a groin
strain. Benoit Assou-Ekotto (hip), Aaron

wrists are still not healed. Ledley King might

look set to miss out on Sunday's game with Tottenham, while

Roman Pavyluchenko has apparently given an interview

Harry Redknapp appeared at the City of Westminster
Magistrates Court today, along with former Portsmouth
chairman Milan Mandaric, on charges of cheating the national

Juventus are planning a £13 million swoop for defender
Gareth Bale in the summer according to the Sunday
People.
The Mail on Sunday reports that Manchester City will let
midfielder Stephen Ireland go and that Liverpool,

Hull City's 19 year old midfielder Tom Cairney is

Tottenham had shown an interest in 19-year-old
Serbian centre-half Stefan Savic of BSK Borca, but it
looks like he might be heading to Arsenal it is reported in
the Daily Mirror.
The Daily Star says that Roman Pavlyuchenko's move to
Birmingham City failed on transfer deadline day because
Spurs raised the asking price for the Russian striker to £12
million.
Former Spurs central defender Ricardo Rocha has
signed for Portsmouth, as he was a free agent after being
released by Belgian club Standard Liege.

Kilkenny are both facing late tests to assess their fitness
after being unavailable at the weekend.
Tottenham had a reserve friendly against Dagenham and
Redbridge at Spurs Lodge, which Spurs won 4-1 with two goals

A busy day at White Hart Lane in the last day of the January
transfer window ... and frankly, we would expect nothing
less. So, first of all the fact and then the rumours

FACT
Robbie Keane has joined Glasgow Celtic on loan until
the end of the season.
Kyle Naughton has joined Middlesbrough until the end
of the season.
Alan Hutton has joined Sunderland until the end of
the season.
Defender Troy Archibald-Henville has joined Exeter
City on a permanent basis after having been there on loan
for several months.
Former Spurs striker Mido has joined West Ham United
on loan until the end of the season.
RUMOURS
Spurs made a last day bid for Watford goalkeeper Scott
Loach, but had the bid rejected by the Vicarage Road
club.
The Daily Mail thought the goalkeeper Tottenham would sign
would be David James, after Asmir Begovic
defected to Stoke City.
The Daily Mirror reckoned that Roman Pavlyuchenko
begged Tottenham to allow him to join Birmingham City, but
obviously, Harry wanted him as his third striker with Keane
going out on loan.
The same paper got it all wrong over Robbie Keane,
suggesting that Spurs were in talks with West Ham United
about the Republic of Ireland international moving to East
London.
