   Emmanuel Mbola said he hopes that he will be joining Spurs soon after being on trial last week and returning soon for more time with the squad.  The 16 year old Zambian defender is currently in dispute with his Armenian club Pyunik Yerevan, but hopes the matter can be resolved, with the Zambian FA involved as the player may have been asked to sign a contract at the age of 15.
   Jermain Defoe and Peter Crouch have been included in the England squad for the friendly against Egypt at Wembley on Wednesday.

   The virus circulating among the Tottenham players and staff has now claimed 18 victims, with the Spurs Lodge training ground being closed off and deep-cleaned to try to kill off the virus causing the problem.  Vedran Corluka and Wilson Palacios appear to be the worst hit, while several Academy players are suffering sickness and diarrhoea.
   TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR TEAM NEWS : -  Spurs will definitely be without Carlo Cudicini (hip and wrists), Jonathan Woodgate (groin), Aaron Lennon (groin), Ledley King (thigh) and Jermaine Jenas (groin) for Sunday's encounter with Everton, while doubts exist over the availability of Jermain Defoe (hamstring) and Peter Crouch (foot).
   EVERTON TEAM NEWS : -  David Moyes has worries over Victor
Anichebe (back) and Phil Jagielka (knee), while he will be deprived of the services of Tim Cahill (calf), Marouane Fellaini (ankle), Tony Hibbert (groin) and Phillipe Senderos (back).

   OTHER NEWS ... Portsmouth became the first Premier League club to go into administration today, and they will have nine points deducted and almost certainly condemning them to relegation ... Chester City were today expelled from the Conference Premier league after failing to fulfil a couple of fixtures recently ... 


  MEHSTG's spin story ... The administrators are considering making John PFC Westwood the new Portsmouth chairman, as he is such a good ambassador for the club.

   TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR TEAM NEWS : -  Ledley King will be missing after tearing a thigh muscle in Sunday's win at Wigan Athletic and he joins Benoit Assou-Ekotto (hip), Carlo Cudicini (hip and wrists), Jermaine Jenas (groin), Jonathan Woodgate (groin) and Aaron Lennon (groin) on the injury list.  Added to that Younes Kaboul and Kyle Walker are cup-tied, although Eidur Gudjohnsen can play.
   BOLTON WANDERERS TEAM NEWS : -  The Trotters will be missing
Vladimir Weiss and Jack Wilshere (cup-tied), Gretar Steinsson (calf), Chris Basham (knee), Gavin McCann (ankle/foot), Sean Davis (knee), Joey O'Brien (knee), Mark Davies (knee) and Gary Cahill (arm), so sitting in the bottom three of the Premier League, Owen Coyle may change the team to play some fringe players and keep his first teamers fresh for more important battles to come.

   Aaron Lennon's groin injury has been aggravated in training and he is set to be side-lined for at least another few weeks, although the club hope he will feature before the end of the season.
   Defenders Kyle Naughton and Kyle Walker have been called up into the England Under-21 squad to play Greece in a European Championship qualifier at Doncaster Rovers FC on Wednesday 3rd March.
   West Ham United missed out as Harry Redknapp moved to sign
Zambia's 16-year-old left back Emmanuel Mbola from Armenian side Yerevan for a fee of  £1 million.  The youngster has 20 international caps already and was the youngest player at the African Cup of Nations in Angola last month.
   Former Spurs midfielder Michael Brown clashed on the Portsmouth training pitch with Jamie O'Hara, who is on loan to the cash-strapped South Coast club, following a heavy challenge on O'Hara.  Team-mates are reported to have had to pull them apart.


   OTHER NEWS ... Notts. County have avoided the tax man's winding up order by paying their outstanding bill and announced that Steve Cotterill will be their new manager ... 


  MEHSTG's spin story ... Hamilton Academicals were the victims of fake noted being handed over at the turnstiles at their home game with Motherwell on February 13th.  Unfortunately, the fake notes found their way into the hands of their manager, who had his notes swapped, leaving the tactics in confusion.

   The Daily Mail claims Ledley King will be offered a one year extension to his contract in the summer, after improving his availability for games this season.

   The Spurs Under-18 side beat Bristol City 4-0 today in the FA Premier Academy league.  Tom Carroll scored twice, with Kudos Oyenuga and Anton Blackwood from the penalty spot scoring the other goals.

   TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR TEAM NEWS : -  Jermaine Jenas is a doubt for the game at the JJB on Sunday, with a groin strain.  Benoit Assou-Ekotto (hip), Aaron Lennon (groin) and Jonathan Woodgate (groin) are all out of the game and Carlo Cudicini's broken wrists are still not healed.  Ledley King might not be risked, leaving Sebastien Bassong to cover for him in defence.
   WIGAN ATHLETIC TEAM NEWS : -   Defenders Titus Bramble and Steve Ghouri both have hamstring injuries and look set to miss out on Sunday's game with Tottenham, while goalkeeper Richard Kingson has a torn muscle that will side-line him for this match.

   The Sun claim that Reading goalkeeper Adam Federici is a £2 million target for Spurs in the summer.
   Following the latest batch of games chosen for live TV coverage, some Tottenham fixtures have been changed.
Arsenal (home) will now kick off at 12:45 p.m. on Saturday 10th April ad be screened on Sky Sports
Chelsea (home) on Saturday April 10th will now kick off at 5:30 p.m. to allow ESPN to show the game live
Manchester United (away) on Saturday 25th April will kick off at 2:00 p.m. on Sky.


   OTHER NEWS ... Patrick Vieira has been banned for three games foe kicking Stoke City's Glenn Whelan in the groin in Wednesday's Premier League match between the two clubs ... 


  MEHSTG's spin story ... A man on the street said that Arsene Wenger was either incompetent or dishonest in his coaching of an Arsenal team who could not defend a quick free-kick.  The man said he hoped Wenger was incompetent.

   Roman Pavyluchenko has apparently given an interview to the Russian press once more saying that Harry Redknapp is laughing at him by keeping him at the club and on the bench.
   Sheffield United have been unlucky in asking for their former defender Kyle Walker to return to Bramall Lane on loan, as he is needed to cover for injuries at White Hart Lane.
   It is reported on the Sky Sports website that former Tottenham midfielder Rohan Ricketts has joined Hungarian side Diosgyor.
   Former Spurs midfielder Johnnie Jackson has joined Charlton Athletic on loan from Notts. County.


   CRIME WATCH ... Wolverhampton Wanderers have been given a suspended £25,000 fine for fielding a weakened side against Manchester United in December last year ... 


  MEHSTG's spin story ... Arsene Wenger, having seen the  quickly taken free-kick that ended up as being scored as the second Porto goal last night, said of the incident, "The referee cannot explain it.  I have never seen this before."

   The Daily Mail claims that Jamie O'Hara is ready to leave Spurs in the summer to kick start his career elsewhere.

   Tottenham are believed to have blocked a £10.5 million transfer to Lokomtiv Moscow for Roman Pavlyuchenko according to the Daily Mail.
   Spurs and Bayern Munich are both reported to be watching Lokomtiv Moscow's Croatian winger Dario Srna.
   Internet rumours claim that
Spurs are watching Steve Leo Beleck - a 17-year-old Cameroonian striker - when he plays for the Greek side, Panthrakikos Komotini.
   Dean Parrett, Stephen Caulker, Ryan Mason and John Bostock are all include din the England Under-19 squad to take on Holland in a friendly in Waalwijk on Tuesday 2nd March 2010.

   Tottenham's FA Cup replay with Bolton Wanderers will take place on Wednesday 24th February with an 8:00 p.m. kick off as it is being screened live on www.thefa.com.
   The transfer of Lokomitv Moscow and Croatia goalkeeper Stipe Pletikosa might be back on for Tottenham according to the Daily Mail.
   Spurs are also linked with a move for Benfica striker Oscar Cardoza, but Everton, Aston Villa and Blackburn Rovers are all interested a report in the Sun says.

   TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR TEAM NEWS : -  Roman Pavlyuchenko could feature in the FA Cup tie at Bolton Wanderers on Sunday, as Harry Redknapp may be missing Luka Modric through illness and Ledley King through his knee injury, while Michael Dawson took a kick on the ankle on Wednesday and might need a late fitness test before the game at the Reebok stadium.  Both Younes Kaboul and Kyle Walker are cup-tied, but Eidur Gudjohnsen is now eligible to play in the FA Cup.
   BOLTON WANDERERS TEAM NEWS : -  Former Spurs midfielder Sean Davis (knee), Gavin McCann (ankle), Chris Basham (knee) and Ivan Klasnic (calf) will definitely miss the FA Cup tie with Spurs, while Gary Cahill is also side-lined with a blood clot in his arm.  Both loan players signed in January - Vladimir Weiss and Jack Wilshire - are cup-tied.

   A report in the Daily Mail suggests that Daniel Levy may be looking for a new shirt sponsor starting from next season, as the deal with Mansion expires at the end of the 2009-10 season.  He is hoping to secure a £10 million a year deal with a new partner.

   Harry Redknapp appeared at the City of Westminster Magistrates Court today, along with former Portsmouth chairman Milan Mandaric, on charges of cheating the national revenue.  Neither entered a plea and they were released on bail until they are to appear again on April 14th.

   Sky Sports reports that striker Jon Obika returned from his loan spell at Yeovil, only to go straight out on loan once more, this time to Millwall, where he will stay for one month.

   TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR TEAM NEWS : -   Spurs have Roman Pavlyuchenko available after a groin injury and Eidur Gudjohnsen could play some part of the game at Molineux.  The team are still without Aaron Lennon and Jonathan Woodgate (groin injuries), Carlo Cudicini (hip and wrist) and Benoit Assou-Ekotto (hip), while Ledley King is likely to be rested, leaving Sebastien Bassong and Younes Kaboul vying for a place alongside Michael Dawson.
   WOLVERHAMPTON WANDERERS TEAM NEWS : -  Andy Keogh (ankle), Dave Edwards (ankle), Michael Kightly (ankle) and Matt Murray (knee) are all out of the game on Wednesday.  Wolves might make changes after forfeiting a goal lead in the last ten minutes to lose to Birmingham City on Sunday.

   Juventus are planning a £13 million swoop for defender Gareth Bale in the summer according to the Sunday People.
   The Mail on Sunday reports that Manchester City will let midfielder Stephen Ireland go and that Liverpool, Manchester United and Spurs might be interested in taking him on.
   Hull City's 19 year old midfielder Tom Cairney is interesting Liverpool, Spurs and Everton, the Sunday Mirror.
   The Sunday People think that West Ham United centre-half Matthew Upson will be sold in the summer to the highest bidder.
   The Mirror reckons the reason Asmir Begovic did not join Tottenham and went to Stoke City was because when he went for his medical, he met another Spurs target - Croatian keeper Stipe Pletikosa - having a medical at the same time.

   TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR TEAM NEWS : -  Tottenham's new signings Eidur Gudjohnsen and Younes Kaboul might have to settle for a place on the substitutes bench, with Ledley King being fit once more and the team having played so well at Leeds on Wednesday night.  Carlo Cudicini (wrists and hip), Aaron Lennon (groin), Jonathan Woodgate (groin), Benoit Assou-Ekotto (hip) and Roman Pavlyuchenko (groin) will all miss out
   ASTON VILLA TEAM NEWS : -   Aston Villa will be without Stephen
Warnock (shin), Nigel Reo-Coker (ankle), Marlon Harewood (foot) and Marc Albrighton (ankle), while John Carew is doubtful with an knee injury.
   The Daily Mail report that 27 year old Ghana goalkeeper George Owu has been given a chance to trial with Spurs after being released by his Egyptian club Al Masry.
   Former Spurs defender Erik Edman has left Wigan Athletic to return home to Sweden with Helsingborgs.

   Tottenham beat Leeds United 3-1 at Elland Road in the FA Cup Fourth Round replay tonight.  For a match report, click here and for reaction click here.
  
Tottenham had shown an interest in 19-year-old Serbian centre-half Stefan Savic of BSK Borca, but it looks like he might be heading to Arsenal it is reported in the Daily Mirror.
   The Daily Star says that Roman Pavlyuchenko's move to Birmingham City failed on transfer deadline day because Spurs raised the asking price for the Russian striker to £12 million.
   Former Spurs central defender Ricardo Rocha has signed for Portsmouth, as he was a free agent after being released by Belgian club Standard Liege.

   TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR TEAM NEWS : -   Roman Pavlyuchenko is still out with a groin problem, the type of injury which also keeps Aaron Lennon and Jonathan Woodgate side-lined.  Ledley King is rested after two games in a week and other players out include Kyle Walker (cup-tied), Younes Kaboul (cup-tied), Carlo Cudicini (hip and wrists) and Benoit Assou-Ekotto (hip).  It is rumoured that Dean Parrett and Harry Kane have travelled with the squad to Yorkshire.
   LEEDS UNITED TEAM NEWS : -  Transfer window signings Max Gradel, Shane Lowry and Gary McSheffrey are all cup-tied and central defender Patrick Kisnorbo and midfielder Neil Kilkenny are both facing late tests to assess their fitness after being unavailable at the weekend.
   Tottenham had a reserve friendly against Dagenham and Redbridge at Spurs Lodge, which Spurs won 4-1 with two goals apiece from Eidur Gudjohnsen and Jon Obika.

   Kyle Walker has been recalled from his loan, when he went back to Sheffield United after signing from them in the summer.  No doubt this is to provide cover at right back and centre-half if required.

   CRIME WATCH ... A Sunderland fan has been banned form the ground for 3 years and fined £175 and ordered to pay £85 court costs, £50 to Mrs Bent for distress caused and a £15 victim impact surcharge after racially abusing Darren Bent's mother at a game against Wigan Athletic in November 2009 ... Nottingham Forest and Derby County have been called to the FA to answer charges of being unable to control their players in a 22 man bundle in the East Midlands derby match last weekend ...

   A busy day at White Hart Lane in the last day of the January transfer window ... and frankly, we would expect nothing less.  So, first of all the fact and then the rumours ...
FACT
   Robbie Keane has joined Glasgow Celtic on loan until the end of the season.
   Kyle Naughton has joined Middlesbrough until the end of the season.
   Alan Hutton has joined Sunderland until the end of the season.
   Defender Troy Archibald-Henville has joined Exeter City on a permanent basis after having been there on loan for several months.

   Former Spurs striker Mido has joined West Ham United on loan until the end of the season.

RUMOURS
   Spurs made a last day bid for Watford goalkeeper Scott Loach, but had the bid rejected by the Vicarage Road club.
   The Daily Mail thought the goalkeeper Tottenham would sign would be David James, after Asmir Begovic defected to Stoke City.
   The Daily Mirror reckoned that Roman Pavlyuchenko begged Tottenham to allow him to join Birmingham City, but obviously, Harry wanted him as his third striker with Keane going out on loan.
   The same paper got it all wrong over Robbie Keane, suggesting that Spurs were in talks with West Ham United about the Republic of Ireland international moving to East London.
