   Ledley King will most likely miss the rest of the season after Harry Redknapp revealed the Spurs defender will need an operation on his persistent groin injury.
   A knee injury sustained by William Gallas has required a scan to see how bad the damage is, but he will definitely miss the Wigan Athletic match on Saturday and may not be ready to face Real Madrid in the Bernabeu stadium.
   Off the field, the club reported half-yearly figures that showed an improvement on the same trading period last year with operating profits of £4.2 million announced for the last six months of 2010 in contrast to a £6.1 million loss.
   The Daily Mirror reports that Spurs are looking favourites to sign Ipswich Town's 18 year old striker Connor Wickham for £15 million ahead of Arsenal and Manchester United.
   Atletico Madrid striker Diego Forlan has told the Metro that he would consider a good offer if made by Tottenham this summer.
   The Mirror also carries an old story about Niko Kranjcar saying he will leave Spurs unless he gets more first team football.
   Polish keeper Artur Boruc is said to be a target for Spurs and Everton as they eye the 313 year old Fiorentina keeper.

  MEHSTG's spin story ... Liverpool's sponsors - Standard Charter - have told the club to buy Asian players to boost the commercial exposure in that part of the world.  Kenny Dalglish could not be attributed to the quote, but someone at the club referred to the sponsors as a load of bankers.

   Tottenham Hotspur has asked it's lawyers to send letters to the Minister for Sport, the Olympic Park Legacy Company, the Mayor of London, the Secretary of State for Local Government and the London Borough of Newham asking about the way the decision was made about who would occupy the Olympic Stadium  after the games in 2012.  The club announced that they have not issued legal proceedings, but would consider their position when they have answers to their questions.
   Jonathan Woodgate injured his calf in the Spurs XI game against Barnet on Tuesday and will be out of contention for the Champions League match in Madrid next week.

   Jermain Defoe was used as a substitute from the bench in the 59th minute of England's 1-1 friendly draw with Ghana at Wembley tonight.  Peter Crouch was an unused substitute.
   Holland beat Hungary 5-3 in Amsterdam tonight in their Euro 2012 qualifying tournament group game, with Rafael van der Vaart playing the whole game for the Dutch.
   Roman Pavlyuchenko was on target for Russia in their 1-1 away friendly draw with Qatar today.
   Luka Modric, Vedran Corluka and Niko Kranjcar all played the 90 minutes of Croatia's 0-0 away draw with France in a friendly today.  Stipe Pletikosa was a half-time substitute for the Croatian team.
   Giovani dos Santos played for Mexico in their 1-1 draw with Venezuela in a friendly international.
   A Spurs XI beat Barnet 2-1 in a reserve team friendly at Spurs Lodge today.  Tom Huddlestone and Jermaine Jenas turned out for Tottenham and the goals came from a Kudus Oyenuga penalty and John Bostock.
   Tom Carroll and Harry Kane played from the start in England Under-19s 0-3 away defeat to Holland today.  Carroll was making his debut at this age group, while Ryan Fredericks also won his first cap as a 46th minute substitute, but Kane was substituted after 72 minutes. 
   The Daily Mirror claims that Spurs may be inundated with offers for Gareth Bale in the summer, as Italian media reports that they have made a bid for Olympique Lyonnais' Brazilian left back/midfielder Michel Bastos.
   The Daily Mail has Spurs as favourites to secure the free signing of Bayern Munich's German international striker Miroslav Klose.
   TalkSport's website says that Brazilian international midfielder Ganso intends to stay in Brazil with Santos despite interest from Chelsea, Manchester United and Spurs.
   The Mirror also claim that Tottenham are set to move for Sevilla's 25 year old Spanish striker Alvaro Negredo in the summer.

   A new deal has been signed by William Gallas which will take him through to the end of the 2013 season.
   Aaron Lennon has left the England squad ahead of the friendly tomorrow with Ghana, after suffering a hamstring injury.
   Two of Tottenham's remaining games have been moved.  The home match against Blackpool on Saturday 7th May moves from a 3:00 p.m. kick off to 5:30 p.m. to be shown on ESPN and the away match at Anfield due to take place on Saturday 14th May now sees Spurs now take on Liverpool on Sunday 15th May with the kick off shifted to 4:00 p.m., but will not be transmitted on TV, as the move is to avoid a clash with the FA Cup final.
   Kyle Naughton played 73 minutes and Danny Rose 90 minutes in England Under-21s 1-2 defeat by Iceland in a friendly at Preston North End tonight.
   Young centre-half Steven Caulker has returned to Tottenham from his loan at Bristol City after suffering knee cartilage damage, which had ended his season and will require surgery.

   The Sunday Mirror claims that Spurs, Liverpool and Everton will all be chasing Real Madrid midfielder Fernando Gago in the summer.  The Argentinian is said to be rated at £10 million and the report claims Liverpool are favourites to snap him up.
   Michael Dawson has returned to Tottenham after being released from the England squad, while Kyle Walker has been ruled out with a groin injury and has gone back to Aston Villa, where he is on loan.  Aaron Lennon, Jermain Defoe and Peter Crouch are expected to play some part in the friendly against Ghana at Wembley on Tuesday.
   Alan Hutton played all of Scotland's 0-2 friendly defeat by Brazil in Islington this afternoon, while Sandro was an 87th minute substitute for Brazil.
   Spurs Legends won 7-5 in a charity match against Friends of Dan Newman today.

   The TalkSport website claims that Spurs are among a few English clubs who have been told that Lille's young Belgian midfielder Eden Hazard can leave if they receive a "super" offer for the £20 million rated player.
   Michael Dawson played the whole of England's 2-0 win over Wales in the Millennium Stadium, Cardiff today in the Euro 2012 qualifier.  Jermain Defoe was an unused substitute.
   Robbie Keane scored for the Republic of Ireland in their 2-1 home win over Macedonia in a Euro 2012 qualifier in Dublin, being substituted after 87 minutes.
   Russia drew 0-0 away at Armenia in a Euro 2012 qualifying match with Roman Pavlyuchenko being an unused substitute.
   Niko Kranjcar played 70 minutes of Croatia's 0-1 Euro 2012 defeat in Georgia, while Luka Modric and Vedran Corluka played the full 90 minutes.
   Giovani dos Santos played for Mexico in their 3-1 friendly win over Paraguay today.
   A goal 13 minutes from time by Callum Tapping gave Tottenham's Under-18s a 1-0 win over Arsenal at Spurs Lodge today in the FA Premier Academy League.

   Rafael van der Vaart opened the scoring in Holland's 4-0 Euro 2012 victory over Hungary in tonight.
   The Daily Star claims Spurs and Ajax are both after 18 year old Nigerian striker Ahmed Musa of VVV Venlo, who would cost around £5 million.
   A clause in William Gallas' contract means that the club will offer him a new two year deal when he plays his 30th game of the season for the team, having racked up 28 games so far.

   Gareth Bale has been ruled out of Wales' international with England on Saturday after succumbing to a hamstring injury picked up in the game with West Ham United last weekend.
   Midfielder Jake Livermore has joined Leeds United on loan until the end of the season.
   South African defender Bongani Khumalo has moved to Preston North End on loan until the end of the season.
   Spurs were reported in the Daily Mirror as one of a number of clubs who sent representatives to watch Ipswich Town's young forward Connor Wickham playing for England Under-21s this afternoon.
   Kyle Naughton played all of England's 4-0 away win against Denmark in a friendly today, while Danny Rose left the bench in the 67th minute to play the remainder of the game.

   With Manchester City's involvement in the FA Cup semi-final, the game with the Eastlands club will take place at the City of Manchester Stadium on Tuesday 10th May with a 7:45 p.m. kick off.
   The Daily Mirror has resurrected the story about Lassana Diarra wanting to leave Real Madrid and Spurs and Manchester United are both said to be interested.
   19 year old Argentinian midfielder Erik Lamela is a summer target for Tottenham and Liverpool according to the Metro, with Barcelona also interested in the River Plate youngster.
   Boris Johnson announced a Mayoral Development Corporation for the N17 area, which is no doubt intended to try and keep Spurs in the area, but Daniel Levy said there still needs to be more financial incentives to aid businesses and promote development in the location.

   Spurs' young defender Nathan Byrne has had his loan spell at Brentford extended by a month, taking him through to the end of April.

   Links with a Spurs move for AC Milan midfielder Massimo Ambrosini have been denied by his agent, with Chelsea also said to be interested in the 33 year old according to Sky Sports News.
   The Daily Mirror claims Liverpool will outbid Spurs for Blackpool midfielder Charlie Adam in the summer.
   Academy striker Cameron Lancaster has gone out on a month's loan to Dagenham & Redbridge of League One.
   Ryan Fredericks, Tom Carroll and Harry Kane have all been selected in the England Under-19 squad for a friendly international next week against Holland.

   It is rumoured in the Sunday People that Spurs have doubled Gareth Bale's wages to £75,000 a week to stave off interest from Barcelona and Internazionale.
   Michael Dawson, Kyle Walker, Aaron Lennon, Peter Crouch and Jermain Defoe are all in the England squad for the Euro 2012 qualifier in Wales on Saturday and the friendly against Ghana at Wembley the following Wednesday.
   Former Spurs and now QPR midfielder Adel Taarabt was named as Football League Footballer Of The Year tonight.

   Tottenham drew 0-0 with West Ham United at White Hart lane this afternoon.  Click here for a match report.
   Gareth Bale signed a new deal to keep him at Tottenham until 2015, replacing his previous contract that ran until 2014.
   There was a 3-1 win for Spurs Under-18s over West Ham United at Spurs Lodge this morning, with the goals coming from Paul McBride, Lee Angol and Kudus Oyenuga.

   Tottenham have been drawn against Real Madrid in the quarter finals of the Champions League.  The first leg at the Bernabeu is away on Tuesday 5th April and the return at White Hart Lane is on Wednesday 13th April.  Should Spurs progress in the competition, they will meet Barcelona or Shakhtar Donetsk in the semi-final.
   TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR TEAM NEWS : -  William Gallas has overcome fears about his hamstring and should pair Michael Dawson in the middle of the Spurs defence, while Gareth Bale looks like he may be in the starting line-up after proving his fitness in training.
   WEST HAM UNITED TEAM NEWS : -  Frederic Piquionne looks likely to miss out with a foot injury, while January signing Demba Ba may also be missing.

   TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR TEAM NEWS : -   Spurs will be without Tom Huddlestone (ankle), Jonathan Woodgate (groin), Younes Kaboul (knee) and Wilson Palacios (knee).  William Gallas pulled a thigh in training, but may be subject to a late fitness test to find out if he can play, although Gareth Bale looks set to return after his back injury.
   WEST HAM UNITED TEAM NEWS : -   Robbie Keane is not eligible to play against his parent club while on loan at West Ham, while Jack Collison and Peter Kurucz are both ruled out with knee injuries.  Junior Stanislas is out with a hernia, but midfielder Gary O'Neil is available again after being cup-tied last week.

   The Metro claims that Spurs will return to Blackpool and make a bid for Scottish midfielder Charlie Adam, after they conceded that they are likely to lose the services of Niko Kranjcar in the summer.  The free London paper reckons that Werder Bremen will be back at the end of the season to up their rejected offer of £6 million for the Croatian international.
   There could be a scramble for Gareth Bale in the summer, with Internazionale, Barcelona and Manchester United all keen on the £40 million rated Welsh defender.
   Joe Jordan has been banned for one game by UEFA for the incidents in the away leg of the Champions League tie with AC Milan.

   Tottenham have recalled reserve striker Jon Obika from his loan spell at Swindon Town, where he has played five times without scoring, but went straight out on loan again, this time to Yeovil Town until 7th May.
   Striker Simon Dawkins has joined Tottenham's American partner club San Jose Earthquakes on loan for the whole of the MLS season up to the end of December.

   A Spurs XI beat Reading in a friendly at Spurs Lodge today, with Spurs winning 2-1 thanks to goals from Dean Parrett and Alex Pritchard.
   The Victoria Line will be completely closed on Saturday when Spurs are at home to West Ham United on Saturday.
   A survey by the Football Supporters Federation found Tottenham Hotspur's Supporters Charter the best in the Premier League by some way form Arsenal in second.  Spurs recorded a score of 31 out of 35, while Arsenal got 23.  Everton were bottom of the table with no points, as theirs was not even appearing on their own website.

   Kyle Walker, Kyle Naughton, Steven Caulker and Danny Rose have all been called into the England Under-21 squad to face Denmark Away and Iceland at home in friendly matches at the end of March.
   The Metro claims that Spurs might make a bid for Bolton Wanderers central defender Gary Cahill with Alan Hutton, Robbie Keane or Jamie O'Hara making up part of the offer for the England international.
   Lille and Monaco are watching Brugge and Croatia midfielder Ivan Perisic, who has scored 11 goals in 25 games this season, but Tottenham have also had scouts monitoring his progress and might make a £6 million move for the 22 year old who the club will let go in the summer.
   The club website has announced that Jake Nicholson has extended his contract until June 2012 and has joined Finnish club Myllykosken Pallo-47 for the rest of the season (the end of July).
   Reserve striker Simon Dawkins has signed a deal with the club until June 2013.

   In the Sunday People, Barcelona are quoted as being ready to bid £40 million for Gareth Bale in the summer.  The deal could be a straight cash transfer or a cash plus striker Boban Krkic.
   The same paper carries a story stating that defender Sebastien Bassong is considering his future, as he doesn't know where he fits in at the club and he is interesting German side FC Schalke 04.  However, the Cameroon international has said he wants to stay and fight for his place in the side.
   The People also claims that Manchester City may be ready to move for unsettled striker Jermain Defoe
   Liking the Spurs stories, the People reckon that the club will contest the £20 million signing of centre-half Gary Cahill from Bolton Wanderers with Aston Villa in the summer.

   Wilson Palacios will be out for three weeks after an operation on a knee injury picked up in training.
   On the TalkSport website, they report that Juventus want to make Aaron Lennon a £20 million signing in the summer.
   Internazionale captain Javier Zanetti wants the Serie A club to sign Luka Modric, according to the Daily Mirror.
   The same newspaper reckons Spurs might be willing to resurrect 29 year old midfielder Joe Cole's career by offering him a return to London from Liverpool.
   Fulham Under-18s beat Spurs 2-1 at home in the FA Premier Academy League this morning.  The Tottenham goal was scored by Kudus Oyenuga from the penalty spot.

   The Daily Mirror reports that Tottenham transfer target, AS Roma striker Adriano says his future lies in Brazil when his contract is up with the Italian club.
   In the Times, they claim that Spurs are stealing a march on other interested clubs (including Arsenal and Marseille) by starting talks to sign 18 year old Sime Vrsaljko of Dinamo Zagreb.  The 6' 1" Croatian Under-19 international can play as an attacking right back or on the right of midfield.
   Young midfielder Dean Parrett has gone on loan to Charlton Athletic until the end of the season.

   TalkSport's website carries a rumour that Internazionale will consider making a move for Luka Modric in the summer, said to be worth £15 million plus striker Goran Pandev.
   The Metro claims that Atletico Madrid will give Spurs the chance to sign their strikers Diego Forlan and Sergio Aguero for £40 million in the summer.
   In an interview on TalkSport today, Harry Redknapp hinted that the days of Ledley King not training and then turning up to play first team games at the weekend may be coming to an end.  The Spurs boss said the club captain was at a stage now where injuries were catching up with him and the groin injury is taking a long time to heal and that he picks up other injuries other than the long-standing knee problem he has to contend with.

   Spurs drew 0-0 with AC Milan at White Hart Lane tonight in the second leg of the Round of 16 at White Hart Lane to progress to the quarter finals 1-0 on aggregate.  For a match report click here.
   Under Armour have been signed up as the new kit suppliers for Tottenham Hotspur from 2012 to 2017 in a deal worth £50 million to Spurs.  It is the American company's first football contract in England and they currently produce the Welsh rugby union kit and kits for clubs in Germany (Hannover 96), Greece (Aris Thessaloniki), Mexico (Deportivo Toluca and Estudiantes Tecos) and Japan (Omiya Ardija).
  A Spurs XI beat Dagenham & Redbridge with a late Alex Pritchard goal at Spurs Lodge today.


   CRIME WATCH ... QPR are charged with seven offences relating to the signing of Alejandro Faurlin through a third party agreement, paying an unauthorised agent and providing false information about the player to the FA ... Arsene Wenger and Samir Nasri are both charged with improper conduct by UEFA for using inappropriate language towards the referee in last night's Champions League game, which saw them crash out of the competition at Barcelona ...

   TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR TEAM NEWS : -   Gareth Bale is rated as fifty-fifty in his chances to play against AC Milan tomorrow, but may have a late fitness test on the stiffness in his legs after Sunday's match at Wolverhampton Wanderers.  Rafael van der Vaart is winning his race to be fit to start and it is likely that Jermain Defoe and Roman Pavlyuchenko, both goal-scorers on Sunday, will have to settle for a place on the bench.  Vedran Corluka has recovered from the horror tackle in the first leg and is ready to be selected, while unavailable will be Tom Huddlestone (ankle), Younes Kaboul (knee), Jonathan Woodgate (groin) and Ledley King (groin).
   AC MILAN TEAM NEWS : -  Former Spurs midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng is the latest AC Milan player to be ruled out of the match with an ankle injury picked up at the weekend.  The Rossoneri will also be without
Gennaro Gattuso (suspended), Andrea Pirlo (knee), Massimo Ambrosini (thigh), Mark van Bommel (ineligible), Urby Emanuelson (ineligible) and Antonio Cassano (ineligible), while Thiago Silva (stomach virus), Alexandre Pato (flu) and Massimo Oddo (flu) appear to be doubtful, but may recover in time to play.
   Tottenham are keen to sign AS Roma's 27 year old striker Mirko Vucinic, who may leave the Serie A club in the summer, with Liverpool also linked in the Metro.
   Jermain Defoe told the Daily Mail that he nearly left the club in January as he felt he was being left out of the big games by Harry Redknapp and likened it to the time when he left Spurs for Portsmouth.

   The Daily Mail report that Aston Villa are favourites to sign Lille striker Gervinho, but that Spurs, Newcastle United and Liverpool are also interested in the 24 year old Ivory Coast international who might cost £15 million.
   With a breakdown in his contract negotiations, Arsenal defender Gael Clichy is rumoured to be considering a move to Liverpool or Spurs according to the Metro.
   Representatives from all of Dean Richards' former clubs will be in attendance at the Wolverhampton Wanderers match tomorrow as they pay tribute to the central defender who died last weekend.  There will be a minute's applause before the game kicks off.
   Tottenham's Academy side beat Watford 3-2 at Spurs Lodge this morning with Paul McBride, Kudus Oyenuga and Alex Pritchard the goal-scorers.

   TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR TEAM NEWS : -  Spurs will be without the long term injured players Ledley King (groin), Jonathan Woodgate (groin), Tom Huddlestone (ankle), Vedran Corluka (ankle), Gareth Bale (back), Younes Kaboul (knee) and Rafael van der Vaart (calf).
   WOLVERHAMPTON WANDERERS TEAM NEWS : -  Wolves have suffered a number of pull-outs through injury and these include
Michael Kightly (knee), Guedioura (broken leg), Michael Mancienne (knee), Steven Mouyokolo (knee) and Ronald Zubar (back), while David Jones and David Edwards are both doubtful with leg injuries Spurs midfielder Jamie O'Hara cannot play as he is at Molineux on loan from Spurs.
   The Metro claims that Spurs, Arsenal and Manchester City are both after Ghanaian striker Kwadwo Asamoah, who represented his country at the World Cup last year.  The 22 year old is expected to be priced at £25 million.
   Reserve keeper Ben Alnwick has signed for Doncaster Rovers on a month's loan as cover for former Spurs goalie Neil Sullivan.
   The funeral of former Spurs defender Dean Richards took place today in Bradford.

   In the fall-out of the Olympic Stadium being handed to West Ham United and being rubber-stamped today, London Mayor Boris Johnson promised he would do all he could to help Spurs move to a new stadium.

   The Daily Mail claim that with Spurs and Manchester United chasing Toulouse midfielder Moussa Sissoko, Liverpool might be favourites to sign the French midfielder.
   Ian Sampson, who turned out for Spurs in defence in the InterToto Cup, was today sacked as manager of Northampton Town.

   Spurs may try a £15 million bid to get Manchester City to part with Micah Richards in the summer according to the Daily Mail, while the story also claims that Spurs have watched £10 million rated Napoli right back Christian Maggio, who is 29 and has seven Italy caps.
   Younes Kaboul has been the subject of a move from Paris St Germain, but Tottenham have rejected the approach.
   A young Spurs XI drew 3-3 with an experienced Brighton & Hove Albion side at Spurs Lodge today, with Tottenham's goals scored by Harry Kane, Andros Townsend and Ryan Fredericks.
