   MEHSTG's spin story ... England announced that their new Nike shirts will cost up to £90 each.  The shirts are specially designed for the World Cup Finals in Brazil, where they will be OK for the warm up matches, but will fall apart during the group games and definitely unravel if they get to the quarter-final.

   Vlad Chirches and Michael Dawson have returned to training ahead of Tottenham's visit to Liverpool on Sunday.
   Spurs are among a number of teams alerted to the availability of Yann M'Vila, who is set to be sold by Rubin Kazan according to the Daily Express.
   Meanwhile, the Daily Telegraph claims Spurs have put Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku at the top of their wanted list in the summer, with a fee in excess of the £17 million Chelsea paid for him to be demanded.

   The London Evening Standard claims that Spurs are ready to enter the race with Chelsea, Liverpool, Arsenal, Manchester United and Manchester City for Southampton left back Luke Shaw, who is rated at £30 million.
   The Daily Mirror reckon Spurs are looking at 21 year old Senegalese winger Sadio Mane from Red Bull Saltzburg, having had him watched twice, but Chelsea. Newcastle United and Manchester City are also interested in him, with £10 million quoted as a transfer fee.
   Spurs Under-21s beat Middlesbrough 1-0 away form home with Giancarlo Gallifuoco's goal settling the match.

   The Metro claims Spurs are looking at making a £10 million bid for Standard Liege's 20 year old striker Michy Batshuayi and expect that to be enough to secure his services, despite him being a boyhood Arsenal fan.
   Young winger Grant Ward will go on loan to Chicago Fire until the end of the season once he ahs recovered from a  foot injury.
   The Under-18s enjoyed a 1-0 away win over West ham United this morning, with Anton Walkes on the mark for Tottenham.

   MEHSTG's spin story ... .Hilariously, in his 1000th match in charge of Arsenal, Arsene Wenger actually saw something and had the gall (not the gaul) to suggest that the referee did not see the incident that led to him sending off the wrong Arsenal player.  Not that it really matters, as, with over 100 sent off in 1000 matches under Wenger, there will be another red card along in less than 10 games for one of the Gooners anyway.

   TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR TEAM NEWS : -  Mousa Dembele, Younes Kaboul and Emmanuel Adebayor could return to the Spurs starting Line-up for the match against Southampton on Sunday, with Hugo Lloris looking like winning his race to be included in the side too.  Jan Vertonghen returns after missing the Europa League match in midweek through suspension.  There are still doubts over Kyle Walker (groin), while Etienne Capoue (ankle), Vlad Chiriches (back), Michael Dawson (thigh) and Erik Lamela (back) are all out.

   The media are reporting that the chairman of Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk has said that Daniel Levy is in advanced talks with Ukraine international Yehven Konoplyanka about a move to White Hart Lane, with the player said to be keen and the chairman willing to receive £15 million for the midfielder, encouraging him to move to London over a transfer to Liverpool.

   MEHSTG's no-spin story ... West Bromwich Albion have terminated Nicolas Anelka's contract for gross misconduct after he announced on Twitter that he was quitting the club because he could not retain his integrity by accepting that he should apologise to the Baggies fans and the wider community for his anti-semitic gesture made in a game against West Ham United in December.  Therefore, WBA have given him fourteen days notice of the termination of his contract.

   Spurs could be without Kyle Walker (groin) and Sandro (knee) for Sunday's game against Arsenal.
   The London Evening Standard claims that Jan Vertonghen is thought to be considering his future at Tottenham, despite having two seasons left on his contract.
   The Express reports that Spurs are interested in 18 year old midfielder Diego Poyet, the England Under-18 son of former Spurs midfielder and assistant manager Gus Poyet, along with Internazionale, West Ham United, Fulham and Barcelona.

   Spurs have been linked with a move for Manchester City midfielder James Milner, as his club are said to be hesitating in offering him a new contract.
   Tottenham have re-hired former Head Scout Ian Broomfield, who left with Harry Redknapp's backroom staff and linked up with him at Queens Park Rangers.  However, Broomfield surprisingly tendered his resignation at Loftus Road, with many thinking he was about to join Arsenal, but Daniel Levy stepped in to bring him back to Tottenham.

   The three Spurs fans charged with using threatening, insulting and abusive language have had all charges dropped after the Crown Prosecution Service decided that in the context of their arrest, the Y words were not being used in that way.  The CPS did stress that in other situations, it could be deemed as "threatening, insulting and abusive."
   MEHSTG was saddened to hear of the passing away of Darren Alexander, who was a key member of the Tottenham Hotspur Supporters Trust and a familiar face around the club.  Darren was a larger than life character, who loved Spurs with a passion.  He will be missed by many around White Hart Lane.  Our sympathies go out to his family and friends at this sad time.
