White Hot Lines  

   Spurs have announced that they have come to an agreement with Archway Sheet Metals to purchase the last remaining parcel of land needed for the development of the club's new stadium.  Tottenham will allow the company to find a new site to relocate to and will not take the land until later this year.
   Harry Kane played the whole of England's 1-1 friendly draw in Turin tonight, with Kyle Walker coming on as a substitute in the 46th minute, being joined by Andros Townsend in the 70th minute and Ryan Mason (making his debut) in the 74th minute.  Townsend hit the England goal to grab the equaliser.
   Belgium's 1-0 away win over Israel in the Euro 2016 qualifying match saw Jan Vertonghen play the entire match, with Nacer Chadli coming on in the 63rd minute as a substitute.  Mousa Dembele was an unused sub.
   DeAndre Yedlin was a 67th minute substitute in the USA's 1-1 friendly draw against Switzerland tonight.

   Tottenham and Arsenal are being linked with a move for 18 year old Stevenage striker Ben Kennedy.
   Spurs are being linked with a summer move for 27 year old Polish defender Kamil Glik of Poland, who is though to be priced at £8 million by his club Torino.
   Internet reports hint that Tottenham may be ready to offer Harry Kane a £100,000 a week contract to fend off interest from other clubs.
   Vlad Chiriches played 90 minutes in Romania's 1-0 home win against the Faroe Islands in their Euro 2016 qualifier today.
   Christian Eriksen played all of Denmark's 0-2 friendly international defeat by France today.
   Dominic Ball starred for England's Under-20s who beat USA Under-20s 2-1 at Plymouth Argyle today in a friendly.  Cameron Carter-Vickers also played the whole match for the USA.

   Italian club Saussolo have confirmed that a Premier League club, thought to be Tottenham, have made an enquiry about their striker Simone Zaza.
   Rumours are linking Chelsea with a move for Emmanuel Adebayor to replace Dider Drogba for the 2015-16 season.
   Ben Davies played all of Wales' 3-0 away win in Israel in their Euro 2016 qualifier tonight.
   Belgium beat Cyprus 5-0 in Brussels tonight as Jan Vertonghen completed 90 minutes in the European Championship qualifying match.  Mousa Dembele and Nacer Chadli were both unused substitutes.
   Former Spurs midfielder Rafael van der Vaart will leave SV Hamburg at the end of the season, as they will not be offering him a new deal.
   Josh Onomah, Kyle Walker-Peters and Luke Amos were in the England Under-18 side that beat Switzerland 6-1 at Walsall FC today in a friendly.

   Harry Kane made his England debut as a 71st minute substitute, scoring with his third touch after only 18 seconds on the field.  Ryan Mason, Andros Townsend and Kyle Walker unused subs in England's 4-0 win over Lithuania in a Euro 2016 qualifier at Wembley tonight.
   Tom Carroll was captain and scored the only goal in England Under-21s' friendly win in Prague against the Czech Republic tonight, but took a knock when scoring and went off in the 53rd minute.  Alex Pritchard played 62 minutes before being substituted.
   Alan Mullery is to be inducted into the National Football Museum Hall of Fame in October.

   Tottenham have sold reserve midfielder Ruben Lameiras to Atvidabergs of Sweden.
   Some internet sites report that Spurs may make a summer move for Juventus striker Fernando Llorente, with the 30 year old set to leave the Italian side.

   Former Spurs defender Zeki Fryers has joined Ipswich Town on loan from Crystal Palace.

   Danny Rose has had to withdraw from the England squad for their Euro 2016 qualifier against Lithuania and a friendly against Italy, as he has suffered hamstring and hip injuries.
   Christian Eriksen played 90 minutes of Denmark's 3-2 home friendly win over the USA, who had DeAndre Yedlin playing for them as a 67th minute substitute.  It was Eriksen's 50th cap for his country and he was captain for the occasion.
   Juventus are rumoured to be watching Harry Kane, with the friendly in Italy giving the Serie A club the opportunity to watch him at close quarters.

   Former Spurs legendary midfielder Dave Mackay was buried today in Edinburgh, with crowds lining the streets as his cortege passed from Tynecastle to the church where a memorial service was held featuring the likes of Cliff Jones, Alex Ferguson, Terry Medwin, Pat Jennings, Mike England, Phil Beal, Alan Mullery, Martin Chivers, Alan Gilzean, Clive Allen, Roy McFarland, Denis Law, Iain St. John and Bertie Auld.
   Atletico Madrid full back Toby Alderweireld has said that he would like to play alongside Jan Vertonghen again.  The player on loan at Southampton this season previously partnered Vertonghen in the Ajax side before both players moved away from Amsterdam.
   Vlad Chiriches has been linked with a move to Turkish club Fenerbahce in the summer.
   Spurs are being linked with another move for 24 year old Argentine defender Mateo Mussachio of Villarreal, who Spurs had watched at the weekend.
   A double transfer bid for Valencia defensive pair of Algerian Sofiane Feghouli and German international Shkodran Mustafi may in be in the offing in the summer, with the combined fee around £11 million.  Tottenham may also have been watching Daniel Parejo, the former Real Madrid winger, who had a loan spell at QPR.
   Former Spurs keeper Carlo Cudicini is to take over the goalkeeping coaching duties with the Republic of Ireland Under-21 side.  Carlo is working with the Academy side at QPR at the moment too.

   Ryan Mason has been called up to the England squad as a replacement for the injured Adam Lallana.  England are to play Lithuania this week in a Euro 2016 qualifier and then travel to Italy for a friendly.
   Eric Dier has had to withdraw from the England Under-21 trip to Prague for a friendly against the Czech Republic after picking up a black eye in Saturday's game against Leicester City, but may be fit for next week's friendly against Germany at Middlesbrough.
   The Under-21s lost 1-3 at Leicester City tonight with the Spurs goal scored by Kenneth McEvoy.

   Some doubt has been shed on the Spurs move for FC Koln's defender Kevin Wimmer, after it has been reported that talks had taken place, but that no deal has yet been agreed.

   Tottenham have agreed a £4.3 million deal to bring FC Koln defender Kevin Wimmer to White Hart Lane in the summer according to the Telegraph and the Guardian.  The Mirror report the 6' 2" tall 22 year old Austrian will cost Spurs £5.8 million to join on a four year deal.
   LEICESTER CITY TEAM NEWS : -  The Foxes have no new injury issues, but Dean Hammond will be missing with a calf injury and Anthony Knockaert will be absent due to a family illness.

   TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR TEAM NEWS : -  Only a knee injury to Roberto Soldado makes it onto the injury list for this weekend's game against Leicester City, with the rest of the squad fit for selection.

   Tottenham's Under-21 fixture away to Chelsea has been moved for BT Sport live TV coverage, with the game kicking off at 15:15 and an Under-18 match at home to Manchester United  originally scheduled for Saturday 28th March, will now take place on Saturday 25th April with an 11:00 kick off.

   Tottenham's Youth side lost 2-5 away at Chelsea in the FA Youth Cup semi-final second leg tonight to be knocked out on a 4-5 aggregate.
   Luke Amos, Kyle Walker-Peters and Josh Onomah have been selected for the England Undfer-18 squad to face Switzerland twice in friendlies at St. George's Park and at Walsall in the next two weeks.
   Harry Winks has been include din the England Under-19 squad for the Elite Qualifying matches for the European Under-19 Championship in France next week to play the home nation, Azerbaijan and Denmark.

   Spurs are rumoured to be preparing a £21 million bid for 25 year old AS Monaco defender Aymen Abdennour.
   Some reports claim that Tottenham are close to agreeing a deal to bring 21 year old Austrian Kevin Wimmer to White Hart Lane, with the 21 year old FC Koln central defender fetching just over £7 million.  The main story appeared in the Metro, so perhaps a pinch of salt should accompany this news.

   Archway Steel have notified Tottenham that they do not intend to pursue their appeal against the CPO on their property in Paxton Road any further and this will allow the club to move forward on the development in Northumberland Park.
   Harry Kane has won the Barclays Player of the Month award for February, the second month in a row he has received this award.
   TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR TEAM NEWS : -  Spurs have no injury problems ahead of their trip to Old Trafford to play Manchester United on Sunday.
   MANCHESTER UNITED TEAM NEWS : -  Both Angel di Maria and Jonny Evans are suspended for Manchester United and Robin van Persie is injured (ankle) for the match with Spurs on Sunday.  Ashley Young looks like being available after recovering from a leg injury, while Marcos Rojo is fighting to be fit after suffering a groin injury in the FA Cup defeat with Arsenal.
   Shaquile Coulthirst has gone on loan at York City until the end of the season.

   Some media reports claim Danny Rose is considering an offer from Jamaica to play for them in the World Cup qualifying games if he is not selected for England.  The left back is said to be waiting to see if Roy Hodgson includes him in the squad for this month's matches against Lithuania in the Euro qualifiers and a friendly against Italy.
   Ismail Azzaoui scored one goal and made another as Belgium's Under-17s beat Northern Ireland in the European Championship Elite Stage today.
   Carlton Cole has been fined £20,000 and warned (again) about his future conduct after sending an abusive Tweet to a Spurs fan after the match between Tottenham and West Ham United recently.

   The big story today revolves around the presence of Sassuolo striker Simone Zaza's agent being in London or talks over a move, with Spurs linked as long term admirers of the Italian striker.  A fee of £12.5 million is quoted for the man who his previous club Juventus have first option on signing, but they may pass that up with little chance of him getting playing time at the Italian champions.
   Tottenham are thought to be looking carefully at the Portuguese market when it comes to the summer transfer window.  Benfica's Argentine winger Eduardo Salvio and attacking Brazilian midfielder Anderson Talisca are mentioned in internet reports, as well as Braga's winger Rafa Silva, the London Evening Standard claim
   Spurs Under-18s face Chelsea, Aston Villa, West Bromwich Albion, Manchester United, Everton, Manchester City and Middlesbrough between 14th March and 9th April.
   Former Spurs forward and attacking coach Les Ferdinand, now Director of Football at QPR, is being charged with using insulting or abusive language to officials near the tunnel after Tottenham's 2-1 win at Loftus Road last Saturday.

   Tottenham's Under-21s earned a 1-1 draw with Manchester United at Old Trafford tonight with the home team fielding James Wilson, Rafael, Radamel Falcao and Victor Valdes, but Kenneth McEvoy's goal gave Spurs the lead although Rafael equalised later in the first half.
   Spurs are reported on the internet to be inviting Paris Saint Germain's young midfielder Adrien Rabiot to Hotspur Way to look around the facilities ahead of a proposed move for the 18 year old in the summer.
   The Metro claim that Spurs are already in talks with 29 year old PSG striker Ezequiel Lavazzi ahead of a summer move to White Hart Lane for around £18 million.
   The Lokomotiv Moscow president reckons he had a deal on the table in January to sign Mousa Dembele and Nacer Chadli.
   An unlikely rumour surfaces that Spurs are said to be interested in 31 year old Celta Vigo defensive midfielder Michael Krohn-Dehli.  The 31 year old would be available on a free transfer, but may not fit in with Tottenham's signing policy.
   Tottenham Under-21s' game at Stevenage FC on 16th March against Norwich City has been moved to Hotspur Way, with the home match against Sunderland U21 now to be staged at Stevenage on 27th April with a 19.00 kick off.

   Spurs are one of a number of clubs interested in striker Javier Hernandez when he returns to Manchester United from his loan spell at Real Madrid in the summer.
   One slightly weirder rumour is that Spurs are keen to snap up Manchester United defender Jonny Evans in the summer.  Not sure about this one, as he has just picked up a six match ban for spitting and he is also not that great as a defender.  I smell an agent at work.

   Tottenham beat QPR 2-1 at Loftus Road this afternoon.  Click here for a match report.
   The Under-18s beat Leicester City 2-0 at Hotspur Way today.  A Ryan Loft penalty and a goal from captain Chris Paul gave Spurs the win in the last game of their Barclays' Under-18 Premier League Southern Division programme.
   The Sun reports that Spurs have agreed a £7 million deal with Leicester City to bring Algerian winger Riyad Mahrez to White Hart Lane in the summer.
   Following the news of the post-season friendly in Australia, it appears that Spurs will not travel abroad in pre-season and will be based in England to prepare for the 2015-16 season.

   QPR TEAM NEWS : -  Joey Barton is serving the third of a three match ban, while injuries may deprive QPR of Donnell Furlong, Nedum Onuoha and Mauricio Isla, who all face late fitness tests. Richard Dunne, Leroy Fer and Alejandro Faurlin are all out for the match with knee ligament injuries.

   22 year old FC Koln central defender Kevin Wimmer has had a €10 million price tag put on his head.
   Spurs are reportedly willing to gazump Southampton with a £10 million bid for the defender on loan at St. Mary's from Atletico Madrid Toby Aderweireld.
   Arsenal and Tottenham have had Feyenoord winger Jean-Paul Boetius watched with the Dutch club believed to be ready to accept a fee as low as £5 million, as his contract runs out in 18 months.
   Paris Saint Germain may use Argentinian striker Ezequiel Lavazzi to tempt Spurs to part with Hugo Lloris or Christian Eriksen reports today claim.
   West Ham United substitute Carlton Cole has accepted a charge of making a comment that was abusive and brought the game into disrepute, after he sent an expletive filled tweet to a Spurs fan who mocked him about an incident in the recent game between Spurs and the Irons.

   The sad news that Spurs midfielder and captain Dave Mackay died last night at a Medical Centre in Nottingham, aged 80.  Mackay was an inspiration in the Double season and the following period of success at the club, leaving to win the First Division Championship as a player and a manager at Derby County before going on to manage at other British and Middle East clubs and the Qatar National side.  MEHSTG sends it's condolences to his family and friends at this sad time.  For an obituary of the man, click here.
   TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR TEAM NEWS : -  Spurs have a full squad to pick from after coming through the League Cup Final with no injuries.
   SWANSEA CITY TEAM NEWS : -  Swansea are unable to call upon the services of midfielder Tom Carroll, who cannot play against Spurs, as he is on loan from them to the Welsh club.  However, former Spurs midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson is fit again and another ex-Spur Kyle Naughton is available to play right back.

   Spurs are today linked with German goalkeeper Timo Horn, who is 22 and plays for FC Koln, should Hugo Lloris leave the club this summer.
   Mauricio Pochettino has denied any interest in Sevilla striker Carlos Bacca, despite strong rumours in the press that Tottenham are very keen on signing him.
   The denial may have come about as French media reckon Tottenham were at the Lille v Olympique Lyonnais match at the weekend with a view to keeping tabs on striker Alexandre Lacazette of Lyon.
