According to rumour in the Mirror today, Spurs have been in contact with Christophe Dugarry's English based agent.  Currently on loan at Birmingham City, the French striker is still available and although the Midlands club hope to do a deal with him, he is still subject to other approaches, such as the interest Liverpool have in him.  Spurs have allegedly told Bordeaux that the £22,000 a week wages he receives there would not be a problem and Tottenham could increase that sum to secure hi services.

West Bromwich Albion are the latest club to be associated with an interest in Matthew Etherington.  Manager Gary Megson was alleged to have watched the winger in the recent reserve match against Fulham, but I didn't see him there.

Wednesday  23.4.2003   (For other Spurs history on this day click here)

Matthew Etherington will seek assurances that he will be a first team regular before deciding whether or not he will stay at the club.  The winger, who's contract expires next summer, will not sign a new deal unless he is convinced he will feature regularly in the first team, his agent said.  Talks have been held with David Pleat, but they will not continue until the end of the season, but the player and his representative have been heartened by what they have heard.

Glenn Hoddle has been as good as his word and has moved to end the injury nightmare that the Tottenham players have been suffering.  He has hired the services of Argentinian doctor Dario Rubens Oliva, who was Maradona's medical adviser and specialises in getting players back to fitness earlier than would normally be expected.  Mauricio Taricco has been effectively by Oliva, who has also helped resolve a frozen shoulder problem suffered by Milenko Acimovic.  Hoddle regards him as a genius and is also using controversial German doctor Hans-Muller Wolfhart, who has treated Michael Owen and Jurgen Klinsmann and has used pig's blood in his treatments.

Scandalous rumour of the day ... in the Sun, Newcastle United are supposedly thinking over a bid for Stephen Carr.

An unfounded internet rumour suggests that Spurs might be interested in bringing forward Paul McVeigh back to White Hart Lane from Norwich City.

Antoine Sibierski of Lens says that there is only one club in England that interests him and that is Spurs.  he has the utmost respect for Tottenham Hotspur and Glenn Hoddle, who he says knows French football very well.  The 28 year old midfielder sees himself as the new Teddy Sheringham (I hope he means a few years back when Teddy was very good) and being available at just about £3 million, he might fall into Tottenham's price range.
Sibierski's fellow Lens player, forward Daniel Moriera said that both Spurs and Arsenal are looking at him with a view to a transfer.  He has stated that he would like to play for a London based club ... which rules out Wimbledon then (unless he goes to AFC Wimbledon).
