   The Daily Mirror claims that Spurs intend to swap Dimitar Berbatov plus £15 million for Barcelona's Samuel Eto'o.
   Former Spurs youngster Del Deanus, who is currently co-manager of non-league club Edgware Town
, will be the subject of a charity match on Saturday 10th May at Edgware's White Lion Ground, High Street, Edgware.  Del has been diagnosed as suffering from Motor Neurone disease and the game is aimed at raising funds for his needs.
An All Star non-league side will take on a Celebrity XI (including Les Ferdinand, DJ Brandon Block and ex-Chelsea defender Frank Sinclair) and will kick off at 3:00 p.m. with tickets priced at £10 for adults and £5 for under-16s.  Visit http://www.delsmatch.co.uk for more details.

  
Jamie O'Hara has been picked by Stuart Pearce for the England Under-21 squad to face Wales U21 at Wrexham next month.
  
In the Welsh squad, Brian Flynn has chosen Chris Gunter to be in the Under-21's home friendly against England.
  
Goalkeeper David Button has been selected for the England U19 squad to play Belarus in the European Championship Elite Round on 25th May in Minsk.

   Tottenham have revealed that they will equal the £16.6 million they paid for Darren Bent last summer to sign Luka Modric  from Dinamo Zagreb.  The fee is to be payable over four years and the contract for the Croatian midfielder will run for six years.
  
The Daily Mail reports that Tottenham have started talks with Valencia about signing £16 million rated David Villa and that they also want to sign the young Sevilla winger Diego Capel

   Richard Peddie, owner of Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment Limited, has denied any meeting with Spurs officials or any intention in buying out ENIC at Tottenham.  Across at the Daily Mail, the paper claims that Daniel Levy has set an asking price of £400 million for THFC.
   The papers run with some interesting stories today.  West Bromwich Albion (see below) are interested in taking Adel Taarabt to the Hawthorns.  A £4million bid for 20 year old Nacional's Uruguayan striker Bruno Fornaroli has apparently been made by Spurs according to the Daily Mirror, as a number of Spanish and Italian clubs including Real Madrid and Juventus start sniffing around the goalscoring starlet.
   Tottenham's reserves drew 2-2 with Reading reserves at Aldershot Town FC tonight
Tomas Pekhart and Jake Livermore scored the Spurs goals.
   Spurs will be playing West Bromwich Albion next season in the Premier League barring a huge defeat for them and an equally huge win for Hull City in their last games of the season at the weekend

   Former Spurs winger Peter Taylor has left Stevenage Borough as their manager after five months in charge at Broadhall Way

   The News of the World claims that Tottenham are the target for Richard Peddie, owner of the ice hockey team Toronto Maple Leafs, as he looks to buy out ENIC in a £250m deal.  The story claims that the Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment organisation visited White Hart Lane on a fact-finding mission and also went to Stamford Bridge, the Madjeski Stadium and to SCBC, but feel that Spurs are the most attractive and viable option for them to buy into English football.
   On the player front, the NoTW reckon that Spurs will make a big money bid to get Robert Green away from West Ham United in the summer.

   Tottenham drew 1-1 at home against Bolton Wanderers this afternoon at White Hart Lane.  Click here for a match report.  Reaction to follow.
  
Tottenham have agreed to sign 22 year old Croatian international midfielder Luka Modrić for a fee of £15.8 million from Dinamo Zagreb subject to a medical and receiving a work permit.  The talented midfield playmaker had been chased by Arsenal, Manchester City, Chelsea and most recently Newcastle United, who believed that they were in pole position to sign the player.
  
The Daily Mirror reckon that in addition to Modrić, Spurs will be aiming to bring in striker Samuel Eto'o (Barcelona), winger Aiden McGeady (Glasgow Celtic) and goalkeeper Carlos Kameni (Espanyol) in the summer.  Also in the Mirror, former Spurs manager Martin Jol believes that he is the prime candidate to fill in at West Ham United should Alan Curbishley get the sack.

   Spurs are reported to have agreed a £5 million fee to sign Espanyol's goalkeeper Carlos Kameni, according to the Independent, but face a late bid from Aston Villa to steal him off the club, while the paper puts Spurs in the role of gazumper in Portsmouth's attempt to buy £8.3 million rated Real Mallorca winger Juan Guittierez.  The Daily Mail reckon that Middlesbrough would be looking to pay £4 million for Paul Robinson in the summer, while Aaron Lennon might be a target for Manchester City according to some sources.
  
BOLTON WANDERERS TEAM NEWS : - Striker Kevin Davies will be serving the second of a two match ban, so will miss out, but former Tottenham forward, Grzegorz Rasiak could come into contention.  Joey O'Brien is fit again and could be in the sixteen for the game.

   The Daily Mirror reckon that Manchester City and Spurs have been contacted about signing Barcelona's Brazilian star Ronaldinho after the player's intended move to AC Milan had fallen apart.  Luckily, Tottenham are said by the Daily Express to be put off the PSV Eindhoven goalkeeper Huerelho Gomes because of the £10 million asking price, but the Daily Star said that Arsenal are keen on him.  Back at the Express, they reckon Spurs will be making a move for one of Carlos Kameni (Espanyol), who Football365 report is the subject of bids from Valencia and Atletico Madrid, Diego Lopez (Villarreal), Ben Foster (Manchester United), Manuel Neuer (Schalke 04) and Samir Handanovic (Udinese).  Moving outfield, the same paper claims that Chelsea defender Tal Ben Haim and Real Madrid midfielder Esteban Granero are also hot targets for the club.
   TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR TEAM NEWS : -  Paul Robinson has overcome his ankle injury and is fit for Saturday's game against Bolton Wanderers, while Jonathan Woodgate's ankle and Pascal Chimbonda's calf are both better and they will be available for selection
.  As previously, Gareth Bale, Benoit Assou-Ekotto and Ledley King are still ruled out for the rest of the season.

   The Independent seem to think Spurs are made of money, as they repeat a story in Spanish newspaper AS claiming that Tottenham held talks with the Barcelona striker Samuel Eto'o, who has a £120 million release clause in his contract !!  We would have to sell the rest of the team to afford that !!  Norwegian club Fredrikstad's prolific striker Tarik Elyounoussi is being monitored by Tottenham, Blackburn Rovers and Wigan Athletic after his goals have helped his team top the Norwegian Premier League.  The Daily Mail claim he will attract a £4m transfer fee.
  
Robbie Keane had his Range Rover Sport seized by police in Loughton Essex today, after he was going at 54 mph in a 40 mph zone and his tax disc had run expired too.

   Daniel Diaz of Getafe, a 29-year defender, has said that Spurs are interested in signing him.  The Argentinian known as Cata, joined the Spanish side from Boca Juniors and has a number of clubs on the continent interested in his services.  The agent of Younes Kaboul claims that Juventus, Lyon, Marseille, Bayern Munich, Juventus and Lazio are all interested in buying his client if Tottenham put him up for sale in the summer.  Meanwhile, in Spain there is a rumour that Spurs want to buy Samuel Eto'o from Barcelona.  The Daily Mail claim that after an outburst at Avram Grant, defender Tal Ben Haim is on his way out of Stamford Bridge and into White Hart Lane to provide cover for Jonathan Woodgate and Ledley King, while it also reckons that Michael Dawson's future at the club may not be that secure.

   Little news of any note today in the media, apart from the Daily Mirror trying to stir up trouble by saying that Dimitar Berbatov's moody performance at the JJB Stadium on Saturday marks him out as the man who could be the new Eric Cantona at Old Trafford.

   Newspaper rumours link Juande Ramos with a move for Udinese's £10 million rated forward Fabio Quagliarella and the same amount to be spent on PSV Eindhoven's Brazilian keeper Huerelho Gomes.  The News of the World says that if Spurs do sign a new keeper, then Middlesbrough will be first in line to snap up Paul Robinson who would make way for the incoming goalie.  The People reckons Tottenham want to swap Paul Robinson for David James.  The NoTW also reckons that Newcastle United are keen on Anthony Gardner to shore up their porous defence.  The People also carries a story claiming that Dimitar Berbatov believes he will be a Chelsea player this time next season.  He will if his agent has anything to do with it.  Warming to their task, the tabloid claims Spurs will allow Pascal Chimbonda to leave for £3 million and will sign £5 million goalkeeper Carlos Kameni from Espanyol.  Over at the Daily Star Sunday, they throw up the name of Manuel Neuer of Schalke 04 as a potential goalkeeping purchase in the summer.  They also believe that Spurs will be in for Argentinian forward Lisandro Lopez if he is sold by Porto in the summer, along with Newcastle United and Manchester City, with Paul Stalteri willing to sign a permanent deal at Fulham ... if they stay in the top flight.

   The Daily Star believes that Juande Ramos had been told that he will have to sell off some of the current
squad before he can start his spending spree, which may include Sevilla's winger Diego Capel if Tottenham can get in before Real Madrid.  Another possible target is the Atletico Madrid and former Manchester United forward Diego Forlan.  Anyone playing in Spain and having the forename Diego beware !!
   The Spurs Under-18 side finished their Premier Academy League campaign with an away draw against Watford at Spurs Lodge. 
Jon Obika scored in a 1-1 draw to help Tottenham to finish in second lace in the league table.

   There is much speculation in the press today about the future captain of Tottenham Hotspur, with Juande Ramos saying Ledley King WILL be at Spurs next season, but the papers have taken it upon themselves to guess that either Robbie Keane or Jonathan Woodgate will take the armband after the summer.

   Dimitar Berbatov's frankly tedious agent is saying that the player is at an age when he should be playing for a team winning things and playing Champions League football.  Funny, I thought his client won something this season and if he was so desperate for CL football why didn't he stay in Bulgaria with CSKA Sofia ??  While the agent claims talks have broken down, the club say that he has two years it run on his deal which is one of the best at the club and Juande Ramos says it is down to the club to keep the player at the Lane.
   Meanwhile, Ramos is thinking about who will be his captain next season, as he will be waiting to see what happens with Ledley King, but appears to be ready to replace him

TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR TEAM NEWS : - Pascal Chimbonda's calf injury might keep him out of the match against his former club Wigan Athletic on Saturday, while Paul Robinson is still out with an ankle injury.  Jamie O'Hara might be available for selection following his return to training following a bruised foot.

   Tottenham are supposedly interested in Real Madrid's 20-year-old Spanish midfielder Esteban Granero, who is currently on loan at Getafe, again according to the Daily Mirror, while the Daily Mail claims that Spurs are keen on Chelsea midfielder Jack Cork, who is the son of former Wimbledon striker Alan Cork. Spurs are also linked with Barnet winger Albert Adomah, but the 20 year old is also being watched by QPR, Cardiff City, Charlton Athletic, Swansea City, Plymouth Argyle, Manchester City, West Ham United, Bolton Wanderers and Sunderland.
  
MIDDLESBROUGH TEAM NEWS : - Mohammed Shawky and Fabio Rochemback are both fit again, but may not be able to force their way into the eleven who started against Manchester United last week.

   TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR TEAM NEWS : -  Jamie O'Hara will miss the match with a bruised foot, joining Paul Robinson, who will still be missing with an ankle injury.  Ledley King's knee keeps him out for the rest of the season and the same affliction does the same for Benoit Assou-Ekotto, while Gareth Bale's foot injury rules him out of the remaining games this season.

   Tottenham have arranged a pre-season friendly at Norwich City on Monday 28th July with a 7:45 p.m. kick off.  Tickets are £12 for adults, OAPs/Under-21s £7 and Under 16s will get in for £3 and go on sale tomorrow. 
   The Daily Star seem to think that Tottenham will be among a gaggle of English clubs willing to bring ex-Gooner Thierry Henry back to the Premier League after he has been put up for sale by Barcelona after a dreadful first season in Spain's La Liga
Dimitar Berbatov says he would be "flattered" if AC Milan were to enter into transfer talks with Spurs about buying him.  Perhaps he should have said he would be "flattened" by the rush his agent would make towards the Serie A club's representatives.

   Kevin Keegan is set to offer Spurs winger Charles N'Zogbia in an attempt to make the club part with Aaron Lennon, who also interests Liverpool say the News of the World and the Daily Star Sunday say Spurs will fight to keep, while the Sunday Mirror claims that some of the world's biggest clubs are closing in on £40 million rated Dimitar Berbatov.  While Chelsea and Manchester United have expressed interest in the Bulgarian striker, with Manchester City mooted to be ready to give Spurs £32 million for Dimitar, the paper says that Real Madrid, Barcelona, Internazionale and AC Milan are all looking at the forward.  Tottenham are not keen on selling to another Premier League club, so he may move abroad to find a team who will be in regular Champions League action.  Meanwhile, the Sunday Express reckons that Juande Ramos is making Blackburn Rovers' winger David Bentley a top target in the summer.  Apparently Spurs are to make a £1 million offer for Molde FK defender Vegaard Forren.

   Spurs have announced that Ledley King will not play again this season with his knee injury ruling him out of any further action in the side.
   Juande Ramos is rumoured to be looking at bringing in players form his native Spain in the shape of striker Diego Milito of Real Zaragoza and midfielder Estaban Granero of Real Madrid, while the Daily Mail links him with an interest in Real Mallorca defender Ivan Ramis, who also is attracting Portsmouth.  However, the Spurs Head Coach has said he will not restrict his search for talent to the Spanish leagues, saying he also likes Russians, Italians and Brazilians too.  Ramos did add that English players give a "lot of effort and are big professionals."  I'm not sure if that is supposed to be a good or bad thing !!  Heerenveen winger Danijel Pranjic is brought up as another target for Spurs, after this one came up last week.
   TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR TEAM NEWS : -  Both Jermaine Jenas (illness) and Younes Kaboul (dead leg) will be recovered and in the squad for Saturday's match against Blackburn Rovers
.  Spurs are still without the three players ruled out for the rest of the season - Gareth Bale (foot), Benoit Assou-Ekotto (knee) and Ledley King (knee).

   Spurs have announced two pre-season friendlies and are being linked to two post-season friendlies.  The club have said they will take part in the Feyenoord Jubilleum tournament to celebrate the Dutch club's centenary.  They will play one match on Friday 1st August and a second on Sunday 3rd August.  Other clubs participating are Glasgow Celtic and Borussia Dortmund ... all the clubs that Feyenoord have beaten in the finals of European competitions.  Rumours are circulating on the internet that Spurs might play friendlies after the season has finished against East Bengal of India and a team in Singapore.
