   Spurs are rumoured to be ready to make an offer for Hull City Boaz Myhill.  The BBC website claims the American born Welsh keeper will be made available for £2 million, as the Tigers seek to reduce their level of debt.
   Spurs have signed Academy players Tom Carroll, Jake Nicholson and Nathan Byrne on their first professional contracts. The club have release Sam Cox (now at Barnet), Lee Butcher (now at Leyton Orient), Chace O'Neill, Coskun Ekim, Jamie Butler and Anthony Jack.

  The Daily Mirror says today that Spurs are offering Joe Cole a big signing on fee, £60,000 a week and bonuses related to performance in an attempt to beat Arsenal to snap up the player Chelsea have released.
   A Spurs spokesman has been reported as saying that Tottenham "have not bid for these player" in response to stories coming out of Palermo that Spurs had offered £28 million for defender Simon Kjaer and Edinson Cavani, the Uruguayan striker.

   There appears to be some credence to the rumour about Tottenham's interest in Palermo pair Simon Kjaer and Edinson Cavani.  The President of the club - Mauricio Zamparini - confirmed a £28 million offer for them and said it was too good to turn down, especially as both players have said they want to leave.
   Heurelho Gomes was an unused substitute in Brazil's 3-0 win over Chile in the World Cup Round of 16 tonight.  Former Spurs defender Gilberto came on as a late substitute !!

   Jermain Defoe played 71 minutes of England's 1-4 defeat to Germany in the World Cup Round of 16 in Bloemfontein today.  Aaron Lennon, Ledley King, Peter Crouch and Michael Dawson were all unused substitutes.
   Giovani dos Santos played 90 minutes of Mexico's 1-3 defeat to Argenitina in the World Cup Round of 16 today.
   The Sunday Mirror claims that Spurs are favourites to sign Paris St. Germain's Benin international midfielder Stephane Sessegnon for £8 million.
   In the same paper they reckon that Eidur Gudjohnsen might get frustrated waiting for Tottenham to make his loan deal of last season permanent, thus forcing him into joining Fulham, although Stoke City and Blackburn Rovers are also showing an interest in the Monaco striker, but it is felt that he would want to stay in London.
   The injury that has kept Jonathan Woodgate out for the majority of the last season will be assessed by the club in the coming week to see what they might do next.  The central defender has been to America and Australia looking for a solution, but he may be no nearer getting to a position where he can play yet.

   Heurelho Gomes was an unused substitute for Brazil in their World Cup group game against Portugal that ended 0-0 and sees them through to the Round of 16.  
   Wilson Palacios  played the 90 minutes of Honduras' 0-0 draw with Switzerland that ended both teams' hopes of progressing to the Round of 16 in the World Cup.
   Spurs have announced that they will play Villareal of Spain on Thursday 29th July with a 8:00 p.m. kick off and Fiorentina of Italy on Saturday 7th August kicking off at 3:00 p.m.  Both games are at White Hart Lane.  The club have also confirmed a friendly at Bournemouth on Saturday 10th July, kick off 3:00 p.m.
   QPR have shown their interest in a permanent deal for midfielder Adel Taarabt, as manager Neil Warnock has travelled to Morocco to speak to the Spurs man, who looks to want first team football somewhere.
   Former Spurs reserve defender Danny Foster has left Brentford on a free transfer to join Wycombe Wanderers.

   Benoit Assou-Ekotto played the whole game as Cameroon lost 1-2 to Holland in the World Cup tonight.  Sebastien Bassong was an unused substitute
   Tottenham are rumoured in the Daily Mirror to be ready to sell off Robbie Keane for a knock-down £8 million to get him off the wage bill and bring in a new striker for the Champions League campaign next season.
   The Daily Mail claim that Spurs and Manchester United are keen on Mexican side Pumas' striker Pablo Barrera.

   Giovani dos Santos is interesting Italian club Genoa, according to the Sun.
   Jermain Defoe played 85 minutes of the 1-0 England win over Slovenia in the World Cup today that sees them through to the last 16.  Defoe scored the only goal of the game.  Peter Crouch, Michael Dawson and Aaron Lennon were unused subs.

   German defender Serdar Tasci is believed to be a target for Spurs and Juventus, but his agent said that the player is happy at VfB Stuttgart.
   26 year old Paris St. Germain midfielder Stephane Sessegnon has said he will be heading for the Premier League when he leaves the French club with Everton and Spurs linked with a price tag of £8 million on the Benin international.
   Spurs have come to an agreement with Frenford Clubs in Barkingside, Essex to stage the younger Academy games at their ground at Oakfields until the new Tottenham Academy is ready in Enfield.  The deal will last two years.
   Giovani dos Santos played 90 minutes of Mexico's 0-1 defeat to Uruguay in the World Cup tonight, but Mexico still go through to the knock-out round of the competition because of South Africa beating France in the other game in the group.

   The Sunday Mirror has a story bringing out the news that Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp wants to bring Atletico Madrid's Uruguayan striker Diego Forlan to White Hart Lane although Spurs only want to pay £8.5m as opposed to the £12m or more the Spanish club are asking.
   However, Spurs may not be successful in signing up Everton's Steven Pienaar, who might sign a new deal at Goodison Park according to the Mirror.
   The Sunday Mirror also report that Spurs will resume their training for pre-season on July 7th, with the World Cup participants coming back just two weeks later to get ready for the Champions League qualifier.
   The News of the World run a piece that Spurs are likely to let midfielder Adel Taarabt leave in the summer for La Liga club Villareal.
   The Daily Star Sunday claims that Spurs are keen to sign Sporting Gijon defender Jose Angel, but so are Wigan Athletic and Liverpool.
   Heurelho Gomes was an unused substitute for Brazil in their 3-1 win over the Ivory Coast in the World Cup tonight.

   Benoit Assou-Ekotto and Sebastien Bassong both started Cameroon's 1-2 defeat by Denmark in today's World Cup group game, which saw the African nation become the first to be unable to progress.  Assou-Ekotto completed the 90 minutes, while Bassong was substituted in the 72nd minute.

   Aaron Lennon started England's 0-0 draw with Algeria in the World Cup finals tonight, but was substituted by Shaun Wright-Phillips after 63 minutes.  Jermain Defoe came off the bench in the 74th minute and Peter Crouch joined him with six minutes to go.  Michael Dawson was an unused substitute.
   The Daily Mirror claims that Birmingham City are very keen to sign Robbie Keane and may have jumped ahead of Aston Villa in the chase for the Republic of Ireland international.
   A Spurs XI will play at Ipswich Town against the Championship side on Wednesday August 3rd with a 7:45 p.m. kick off.

  MEHSTG's no-spin story ... with no irony, Wayne Rooney came off the field after England's drab 0-0 draw with Algeria and pointedly said to the TV cameras "Nice to see your own fans booing you."  Perhaps Mr. Rooney might like to pay the same percentage of some of the fans wages who have travelled to South Africa for his own trip next time, then sit and watch someone who can't control a football for 90 minutes.  He might find himself booing, seeing as how he is so quick to criticise referees when out on the pitch.

   The fixtures for the 2010-11 season are out and Spurs start the season with a home game against Manchester City on Saturday August 14th and then travel to Stoke City on Saturday August 21st for the next match.  This is followed by a home game against Wigan Athletic.  For all the Spurs fixtures, click here (because the Premier League won't let us publish them unless we have a hugely expensive licence).  All games are subject to change for TV coverage or participation in European/other cup competitions.
   Giovani dos Santos starred in Mexico's 2-0 win over France at the World Cup finals today.
   Borussia Dortmund have taken the eminently sensible step of banning vuvuzelas from their ground next season, but the Premier League have not made any ruling on the noisy instruments and might leave that to individual clubs.

   Wilson Palacios played the 90 minutes of Honduras' 0-1 defeat to Chile in the World Cup finals today.
   The Daily Mail report that Tottenham will loan defender Kyle Walker and winger Danny Rose to Portsmouth when the CSSCC have their transfer embargo lifted.
   Fixtures for the 2010-11 season will be published at 09:00 tomorrow morning.

   The Daily Mirror claim that Harry Redknapp wants to buy defender Micah Richards from Manchester City.  The article also reckons the Spurs boss is keen on Aston Villa's Curtis Davies.
   The Daily Mail report that Tottenham are back in for Spartak Moscow's 31 year old Croatian goalkeeper Stipe Pletikosa.
   The Times inform us that Deportivo La Coruna have cooled their interest in Tottenham's Mexican midfielder Giovani dos Santos.
   Brazilian keeper Heurelho Gomes was an unused substitute in his country's 2-1 win over North Korea in the World Cup finals tonight.
   Former Tottenham's defender Ian Hendon has resigned as manager of Dover Athletic after 18 days to take over as assistant manager at Gillingham, where he replaces another ex-Spur Mark Robson, who has left his post for personal reasons.

   Benoit Assou-Ekotto and Sebastien Bassong were both in the Cameroon side that lost 0-1 to Japan in the World Cup this afternoon.
   The groin injury that Ledley King sustained in the England game against the USA will keep him side-lined for three weeks, but he will stay with the squad in South Africa.
   Former Spurs youth midfielder Glenn Poole has joined Barnet on a free transfer from AFC Wimbledon, who released him at the end of last season.

   Ledley King pulled an abductor muscle in the first half of the England game last night and will miss the match against Algeria on Friday.
   The News of the World claim that Spurs are in talks with Aston Villa over a move that would see Robbie Keane move to Villa Park and coming the other way would be Gabriel Agbonlahor.
   Also in the NoTW, they claim Harry Redknapp has rejected a £3 million a year tax-free deal to go to Dubai to manage Al Ahly and will sign a new two year deal with Tottenham.

   Reading goalkeeper Adam Federici is set to turn down interest from Tottenham and Liverpool to sign a new deal with the Championship club.
   Ledley King started for England in their 1-1 draw with USA in Rustenburg tonight, but was substituted at half-time.  Aaron Lennon played the whole 90 minutes, while Peter Crouch was a 79th minute substitute.  Jermain Defoe and Michael Dawson did not make it off the bench.

   The agent of Juventus striker Vincenzo Iaquinta claims that he will be joining Spurs in the summer, a report in the Sun tells us.
   In the Daily Mail, a story reckons Tottenham are about to up their bid for 17 year old Connor Wickham to £8 million.

   ESPN's Soccernet site have had an interview with Harry Redknapp, where he pledges his loyalty to Tottenham Hotspur amid rumours of Liverpool being interested in his services.
   The Daily Mirror reports that Stoke City are interested in Roman Pavlyuchenko at £11 million.

   Jermain Defoe scored in the third minute of England's 3-0 unofficial friendly match win against Platinum Stars in South Africa today.  Peter Crouch started up front and Ledley King played 45 minutes, while Aaron Lennon and Michael Dawson also got a run out.  Former Spurs defender Mbulelo Mabizela was in the Platinum Stars side.
   Heurelho Gomes played 90 minutes in goal in Brazil's 5-1 friendly international win against Tanzania today.
   The Mirror claims that Giovani dos Santos is wanted by Sevilla.
   In The Sun, former Liverpool striker believes that Harry Redknapp would make a great manager for the Anfield club.

   The Mail on Sunday claims that top of Harry Redknapp's summer transfer targets are Klaas Jan Huntelaar of AC Milan and Everton's Steven Pienaar, who may be joining in a deal that sees Jermaine Jenas move to Goodison Park in exchange for the South African international.  Robbie Keane may well be sold off to Aston Villa raise money for any deal for Huntelaar they report.
   Another deal rumoured in the Mail on Sunday is another swap deal as Tottenham are keen on Bolton Wanderers defender Gary Cahill and Alan Hutton plus cash will go the other way to the Reebok stadium.
   The rumour in the Sunday Mirror is that yet another swap deal is on the cards with Jamie O'Hara heading to Upton Park to be re-united with Avram Grant, with Spurs signing West Ham United midfielder Scott Parker.  West Ham are considering a £5 million bid for O'Hara anyway.
   Tottenham and Aston Villa are in the market for Udinese's 19 year old Ghanaian central defender Jonathan Mensah, according to the Sunday Mirror.
   The Mirror also reckon that Jermaine Jenas is heading for the exit door at White Hart Lane, with Stoke City ready to offer £7 million for him.

   Michael Dawson became the fifth Spurs member of the England World Cup squad after he was called to South Africa when Rio Ferdinand was injured in training and ruled out of the competition.
   The Daily Star claims that Tottenham are preparing a £20 million bid for Atletico Madrid and former Manchester United striker Diego Forlan.
   Harry Redknapp is keen to bring in Trinidad and Tobago's 20 year old midfielder Khaleem Hyland.  The Belgian side he plays for - Zulte Waregem - have also seen interest from Galatasaray and a top Italian team is also interested, but the player's agent said his client would be keen to play in the Premier League and Redknapp had eyed signing him when he was manager of Portsmouth.

   The England squad have been allocated their numbers, with Aaron Lennon being 7, Peter Crouch 9, Jermain Defoe 19 and Ledley King 20.
   Former Spurs reserve midfielder Stuart Lewis has left Gillingham to join Dagenham and Redbridge .

   The Daily Mail says that Spurs will rebuff any move by AC Milan for Gareth Bale ... as you would expect when he has just signed a contract extension.  Milan are said to be ready to offer Klaas Jan Huntelaar in exchange, but Spurs will resist.  Barcelona and Bayern Munich are also said to be interested in the Welshman.
   Micah Richards and a £7 million move to Tottenham is the story printed in the Daily Star.
   Honduras drew 0-0 with Azerbaijan in Austria tonight, with Wilson Palacios playing for the Central Americans in the friendly.
   Heurelho Gomes came on as a first half substitute in the 26th minute Brazil's 3-0 friendly win over Zimbabwe in Harare.
   Harry Redknapp is to appear on BBC's World Cup coverage in South Africa and will also be featured in TalkSport's campaign for the competition.

   Michael Dawson and Tom Huddlestone were both left out of the final England World Cup squad of 23 players who will travel to South Africa.  Jermain Defoe, Ledley King, Peter Crouch and Aaron Lennon will all be amongst the squad for the finals.
   Harry Redknapp has said he would like to sign Chelsea midfielder Joe Cole, but feels he might have already agreed to join another club.
   Spurs midfielder Giovani dos Santos is threatening to quit the Mexico World Cup squad after the omission of his Barcelona midfielder brother Jonathan.
   Benoit Assou-Ekotto played all Cameroon's 1-3 friendly defeat to Portugal tonight.
