   The Daily Mail also runs a story claiming that Tottenham and Bolton Wanderers are chasing free agent, Hosny Abd Rabo.  His contract with Egyptian club Ismaily has run down and the 26 year old defender who was Player of the Tournament at the African Cup of Nations in 2008 is also being chased by Bolton Wanderers.
   Still with the Mail also claims that Uzbekistan club Anhzi Mahachkala want to sign striker Roman Pavlyuchenko.  It is thought that they want to pay £10 million, but Spurs want nearer £15 million, with the club that plays in the Russian league heavily funded and looking to sign a string of top stars.
   Manchester City may have been pipped to the signing of Caen's 16 year old protégée - French striker M'Baye Niang, after Spurs are said to have offered £7 million and the prospect of first team football for the player who has taken French football by storm in his first season in the first team.
   The Mail and the Daily Mirror seem to be more certain that Tottenham are about to sign Antonio Pedroza Whitham, a 20 year old striker who was born in Chester, but plays his football in Mexico where his father is from.  He is at the end of his contract and is said to be worth somewhere around £1 million to his club Jaguares, with the paper claiming Spurs moved quickly to visit Mexico to seal a four year deal for the player.

   Spurs announced that they will be making a further appeal for a judicial review of the Olympic Park Legacy Company's decision  to hand the stadium to West Ham United after the 2012 Games.  The club will make an oral presentation at the High Court after their initial appeal was rejected.
   Ghana international defender/winger Samuel Inkoom of Ukrainian side FC Dnipro is the subject of interest from Spurs and West Ham United according to the Sun.
   The England squad for the Under-20 World Cup in Colombia has been named and among the players included are Dean Parrett and Adam Smith.

   The Sun claim that Spurs are stepping up their interest in German defender Serdar Tasci of Stuttgart.
   Blackburn Rovers may return to Tottenham with an improved offer for Robbie Keane, after they had a £2million bid rejected., according to the Daily Telegraph.
   The Daily Star claims that Atletico Madrid and Fulham are both interested in signing David Bentley.
   Real Zaragoza are interested in Giovani dos Santos according to the Star, with Spurs hoping the fact that Sevilla are also keen on the Mexican will lead to an auction between the two sides.
   Former Spurs reserve striker Andy Barcham has joined Scunthorpe United after his contract expired at Gillingham.
   The Glenn Hoddle academy set-up has split from Industrial Jerez, the club who took the players from the former Spurs players' academy to fill their team.  Following a dispute about cash, the academy had moved to England and will train at Bisham Abbey, providing players for Hyde of the Bet Square North.

  MEHSTG's spin story ... Lady Nina Bracewell-Smith, who sold her shares in Arsenal, has hit out at the running of the club and said that the board should all stand down as they have nothing to offer the club.  She slammed board members Stan Kroenke, Ivan Gazidis, Peter Hill-Wood, Ken Friar, Sir Chips Keswick and Lord Harris of Peckham.  However, Caspian Honeydew de Montford-Capulet III, Lord Ponsonby Smythe, Richie Rich and Lord Snooty were spared her wrath.

   The Daily Mail have a few of Spurs stories today.  They reckon that Tottenham are about to offer Jermaine Jenas, Alan Hutton and Sebastien Bassong to Bolton Wanderers in exchange for central defender Gary Cahill.
   In the above piece, the paper claims that Wilson Palacios is close to a £14 million move to Paris St. Germain.
   The Metro play catch up on yesterday's rumours, by reproducing the stories about Robbie Keane going to Blackburn Rovers and Aaron Lennon being wanted by Liverpool.
   In the Sun, they claim that Sevilla are not yet meeting Tottenham's asking price of £6.5 million for Giovani dos Santos.
   The Spurs Legends side is to play a charity match in Headley, Hampshire on Sunday 3rd July, with the kick off at 14:00.  The team will take to the pitch at Margery Wheatley Pavilion, Mill Lane, Headley GU35 0PD to play a Headley United Legends XI.

   The Sunday Mirror runs a story claiming that Gareth Bale will ask to leave Spurs should Luka Modric be sold.
   However, to put a stop to Chelsea's and other club's interest in the Croatian, the Mail on Sunday reckon that Tottenham will up his wages to £90,000 a week, making him the top earner at the club ever.
   The Sunday People reports that Liverpool's Director of Football Damien Comolli is intending to take Aaron Lennon to Liverpool, with a fee of £20 million expected to be asked for the England winger.
   A story in the Sunday People claim that Atletico Madrid could be interested in David Bentley.  Having been linked with him previously, the Spanish club might be willing to give the winger a chance to resurrect his career after his failure to win a regular place following his move to Tottenham.
   The same  paper reckons that Blackburn Rovers are looking at bringing in some new forwards and one they are interested in signing is Robbie Keane.
   In the News of the World, they state that Tottenham are still keen on signing David Beckham from LA Galaxy when his contract expires in November.

   The Daily Mirror claim that Villarreal want to sign midfielder Sandro for £12 million, with the paper somewhat surprisingly claiming that Spurs might want to do business, although AS Roma are also interested as a part of a deal for striker Mirko Vucinic.

   Tottenham today failed in their High Court bid to gain a judicial review of the procedure that awarded the Stratford Olympic Stadium to West Ham United.  The club are considering their position and may make an oral request for the appeal to go ahead.  Leyton Orient's call for a judicial review was also rejected.
   Former Spurs defender and reserve team manager Colin Calderwood is a wanted man, with Nottingham Forest and Birmingham city both seeking the Hibernian boss' services as assistant manager.

   Tottenham's pre-season friendly against Athletic Bilbao on Saturday 6th August will kick off at 17:15 because of live coverage on ITV4.
   TalkSport reckon that Fenerbahce will offer Spurs £5 million for Jermaine Jenas, with Fulham also interested in the midfielder.
   Former Spurs defender and assistant manager Chris Hughton was today appointed manager of Birmingham City.

   Midfielder Jamie O'Hara has left Spurs to join Wolverhampton Wanderers in a £5 million deal.
   The Daily Mail claim that Spurs midfielder Niko Kranjcar is wanted by Dynamo Kiev.
   Four clubs, including Spurs, are interested in Espanyol's 25 year old striker Pablo Osvaldo.  The others are Internazionale, Juventus and Atletico Madrid.
   Roma's Sporting Director told the Daily Mirror that he is coming to England and plans talks with Arsenal, Blackburn Rovers and Spurs about the availability of striker Marko Vucinic, although elsewhere it says that the Macedonian forward is likely to join Juventus.
   The Sun claim Tottenham are ready to bid £17 million for Bolton Wanderers' England central defender Gary Cahill.
   A Spurs XI will travel to Brisbane Road to play Leyton Orient in a pre-season friendly on Friday 29th July with a 19:30 kickoff.  Ticket prices are £10 for adults and £5 for children under 16 and Senior Citizens.

   Tottenham Hotspur's new Puma kits for the 2011-12 season have been revealed.  See here for more details.
   Sky Sports reported that the Sevilla chairman claims the La Liga club are in talks with Spurs striker Giovani dos Santos.
   The Metro claims Spurs are set to get involved in a bidding war for Paris St. Germain's Turkish striker Mevlut Erding with Newcastle United and Lille.

   The Sunday People claim that SV Hamburg and Fenerbahce are interested in offering Jermaine Jenas the chance to play abroad.
   The Metro claim that Chelsea intend to throw in Michael Essien to tempt Spurs to part with Luka Modric.
   The Daily Star Sunday claims Spurs and Manchester City are both battling for the signature of Everton's young midfielder Jack Rodwell.
   Kyle Walker played 90 minutes and Danny Rose came on as a 87th minute sub for England Under-21s in their 1-2 defeat against a Czech side, which featured former Spurs striker Tomas Pekhart as a late substitute, who scored the winner in the 94th minute.
   The Mail on Sunday claims Spurs are set to sign the winner of a football reality show in South Africa.  Having been Ghanaian defender Benjamin Baah in a trial for SuperSport United, the 19 year old says he is set to come to Tottenham.

   Spurs are bracing themselves for further interest in Luka Modric, as the Daily Mail report that the Croatian midfielder has told them he wants to leave and join Chelsea.  The Times reckon that Roman Abramovich will up the bid for the player to £25 million, although the Mail put the figure at nearer £30 million. 
   The club later issued a statement on the website with Daniel Levy saying that offers from Chelsea or any other club were not welcomed, as Tottenham are not going to sell any of their top players this summer.
   The Times runs a story saying that Aston Villa's new manager Alex McLeish is watching Alan Hutton's situation at Tottenham.

   The fixtures for the 2011-12 season have handed Tottenham a tough start to the campaign, with a home game against Everton (Aug 13th), away at Manchester United (20th Aug) and then home to Manchester City on 27th August.  On 10th September, Spurs are at away to Wolverhampton Wanderers before Liverpool come visiting White Hart Lane on 17th September.  All dates are subject to change if selected for live TV and the full fixture list cane be viewed on the Spurs site be clicking here.
   The Daily Mail reckon that Liverpool and Spurs are looking to make a bid for Birmingham City defender Scott Dann, after Stoke City had made an offer of £12 million.
   The Sun reckons Spurs are eyeing the player who took Javier Hernandez's position at Mexican club Chivas when he left for Manchester United.  Erik Torres is a striker who is rated as being worth £4 million.

   Benoit Assou-Ekotto has been asked to attend a Cameroon FA disciplinary committee because he did not provide a note for his absence from the international on 4th June against Senegal.
   The Metro reports that Tottenham have been quoted £18 million if they want to buy Lassana Diarra from Real Madrid.
   The Daily Mirror claims Arsenal are going to make a bid to sign Jermain Defoe.
   Scott Parker's transfer from West Ham United looks to be moving closer, with talks beginning between the two clubs over a £4 million switch to White Hart Lane.
   TalkSport's website reckons that Steven Caulker will be playing at Swansea City on loan next season.
   Jonathan Woodgate is wanted by Leeds United according to the Daily Star, as he became the only player released from the club in the Premier League list issued today.  The defender failed to agree a pay-as-you-play deal.
   The Sun report that Tottenham, Blackburn Rovers and Fulham are chasing midfielder Javier Marquez of Espanyol.

   Spurs have announced that their final pre-season friendly before the season begins will be at home to Athletic Bilbao on Saturday 6th August 2011 with a 15:00 kick off.
   Sky Sports reports that Spurs have rejected a £22 million offer from Chelsea for Luka Modric, but it is expected that the Pensioners will be back with an improved bid for the Croatian midfielder.
   Werder Bremen midfielder Marko Marin has been the subject of bids from Spurs and Liverpool, but both have been rejected according to Sky Sports.  If true, then it looks like Tottenham are in the hunt for a replacement for Modric.
   The Daily Mail is the main source of Spurs transfer news today, with a story about the club being close to completing a £12 million for 21 year old Internacional striker Leandro Damiao.
   Meanwhile, the Mail also points out that a move to Racing Santander for Giovani dos Santos, where hew as on loan last season, appears to have broken down and now Sevilla are keen to take the Mexican forward on.
   Continuing on the club's players, the Mail adds that Norwich City have joined Swansea City in wanting central defender Steven Caulker on loan for the coming season.

   The Daily Mirror suggest that Harry Redknapp is willing to meet Arsenal's valuation of Blackburn Rovers defender Christopher Samba as the two clubs vie for his services.
   Younes Kaboul is a target for Marseille, who may try to persuade him that they can give him the regular first team football he needs to stay in the French national side leading up to Euro 2012, the Mirror reveals.  But the Sun says he wants to quit the Lane to return to France with Marseille in an £8.5 million move.
   The paper also claims that Spurs are still interested in striker Emmanuel Adebayor, who Manchester City want £14 million for, but have only received a £8 million offer from Real Madrid, which has been rejected.
   Continuing on the Spurs theme, the Mirror reckons Chelsea could use Didier Drogba as a bargaining tool in prising Luka Modric away from White Hart Lane, with the Sun saying he is stop of the Pensioners wanted list and a wage of £130,000 a week to be offered to the Croatian midfielder to tempt him to join.

   The Sun reckon that Martin Jol has eyes for right back Alan Hutton as he seeks to re-shape the Fulham side.
   West Ham United have received an offer from Turkish club Fenerbahce for midfielder Scott Parker, but the England international is waiting for Spurs to come in for him.

   Danny Rose played 67 minutes of England Under-21s 1-1 draw with Spain in the European Championships in Denmark tonight, with Kyle Walker playing the whole game, making England's last minute equaliser.
   The Sunday Mirror reports that Daniel Levy will be ready to report any club who unsettles Luka Modric with transfer talk to the FA.  Harry Redknapp made it clear that Levy has no intention of selling the club's top players and that the unwarranted attention from the likes of Manchester United and Chelsea is not welcome.
   The paper also claims that Sunderland are preparing an £8 million offer for striker Roman Pavlyuchenko, but this is not the £12 million Spurs want to claw back from the Russian's £14 million signing from Spartak Moscow in 2008.  This comes after Peter Crouch will supposedly turn down a £10 million transfer to the Black Cats.
   Yannick Djalo, the 25 year old Sporting Lisbon striker is being fought over by Everton and Spurs according to the Mirror. 
   The News of the World reports that Harry Redknapp is targeting Everton midfielder Jack Rodwell as his main summer transfer signing.
   The Sunday Express says the FA are looking for an alternative replacement for Fabio Capello to Harry Redknapp, who they think may be sent to prison for his tax evasion case.
   Sky Sports report that Spurs and Arsenal will bid more than £10 million for Blackburn Rovers central defender Christopher Samba.
   The Daily Star Sunday reckon that one of Spurs or Arsenal will be spending £10 million on Lille forward Gervinho.
   Spurs, Liverpool, Arsenal and Sunderland are all said to be watching AIK Solna defender Alexander Milosevic, with the Swedish teenager not currently being the subject of a bid from any of the sides tracking him.
   The Daily Mail reckon that Spurs and Arsenal are both watching Christian Eriksen, the 19 year old Ajax playmaker who is in the Denmark Under-21 side for the current European Championships in his home country.


   OTHER NEWS ... Even though the season is long finished, two managers left their posts today.  Birmingham City manager Alex McLeish resigned his post by e-mail and Nottingham Forest boss Billy Davies was sacked ... On the other hand, Steve Eyre has been appointed as the new manager at Rochdale ...

   The Daily Mail claims Spurs made a £10.6 million bid for Lille striker Gervinho, but the offer was turned down.
   The same paper reckons that Manchester City will kick off an auction for Luka Modric between them, Chelsea and Manchester United, as the Eastlands club will make a £30 million offer for the Croatian midfielder this week.
   A Spurs Legends side represented by Jimmy Walker, David Howells, Allan Nielsen, Darren Anderton and Richard Gough, Teddy Sheringham and Andy Sinton , lost out in the semi-final of the Barbados Legends Invitational tournament.  Having lost 4-5 to Liverpool, draw 2-2 with Blackburn Rovers and beaten the PFA All-Stars 3-2, they faced Chelsea in the semi-final and lost out 2-5.
   Rushden & Diamonds, managed by former Spurs defender Justin Edinburgh,  have been expelled from the Football Conference because of a winding-up order hanging over the club, meaning they will drop at least two divisions to play their football next season.

   The Sun reports that Fulham might try to buy Robbie Keane to link him up with former Spurs boss Martin Jol.
   If Sunderland want to sign Peter Crouch from Spurs, they may have to part with Asamoah Gyan in return to get their man, according to the Guardian.
   Palermo's Uruguayan Abel Hernandez has been the subject of a £8.9 million bid from Spurs according to the Sun, but the offer was rejected by the Serie A club.

   The Daily Mail reveals that Arsenal failed in a late bid to sign Brad Friedel before he agreed to join Spurs.
   The Spurs Legends side will be taking part in a charity match at Kingsbury Town FC on Sunday 12th June, with the kick off at 14:00 against a side representing the charity Boys Town Jerusalem.  The ground is situated at Silver Jubilee Park, Townsend Lane, Kingsbury NW9 7NE.
   Giovani dos Santos scored twice in Mexico's 5-0 CONCACAF Gold Cup win over Cuba tonight.
   France beat Poland 1-0 in Warsaw in a friendly tonight, with Younes Kaboul starting but lasting only 27 minutes before he was substituted.

   TalkSport's website claims Spurs are about to make a move for Real Madrid's 26 year old midfielder Lassana Diarra.
   Peter Crouch is a £10 million target for Sunderland according to the Daily Star.
   Sandro played in Brazil's 1-0 friendly win over Romania tonight in Pacaembu.
   Russia drew 0-0 with Cameroon in a friendly tonight in Salzburg, with Sebastien Bassong playing in the Cameroon side.
   Former Spurs manager Martin Jol has been appointed as the new boss at Fulham.

   Younes Kaboul scored on his French national debut, in his country's 4-1 friendly win over Ukraine in Donetsk tonight.
   Sources close to Peter Crouch are now reporting that he will not turn his back on England after yesterday's rumours he would not play under Capello again.
   However, it is reported in the media that William Gallas will not play for France again after being omitted from their squad for their friendlies and a Euro 2012 qualifier this week.
   Nothing new on the transfer rumour front concerning Tottenham today.

   The Mail on Sunday claim that Tottenham will offer 29 year midfielder Joe Cole an escape route from his disastrous move to Liverpool, with a £3 million deal expected to be completed this week if a medical goes OK.  The article claims it might pave the way for Luka Modric to join Manchester United for £28 million
   The paper also reports that when Sunderland enquired about Peter Crouch, Tottenham told them they would only do business if they took a couple of other players surplus to requirements at White Hart Lane in addition to the England striker.
   The People reckon Spurs have made a last £14 million bid for Espanyol striker Pablo Osvaldo.
   Stoke City defender Ryan Shawcross is said to be wanted by Spurs according to the Daily Star Sunday, with Sebastien Bassong being used as part of the deal.
   In the Sunday Express, they report that Manchester City are planning a £40 million bid for Gareth Bale.
   The Mail on Sunday says a friend of Peter Crouch has told them that the striker will not play for England again under Fabio Capello after being left out of the squad for yesterday's Euro 2012 qualifier against Switzerland.
   Danny Rose played he first 45 minutes of England U21s' 2-0 win over Norway in a friendly at St. Mary's today and scored the second goal.
   Mexico beat El Salvador 5-0 in the CONCACAF Gold Cup, with Giovani dos Santos playing for the winning side.
   Harry Kane scored for England Under-19s in a 1-1 draw with Spain in Nyon, Switzerland, but they did not qualify for the European Championships, missing out on goal difference.
   Stuart Nethercott, the former Spurs defender, was appointed as manager of Ware FC.

   Spurs are linked with a move for AS Roma's Mirko Vucinic in the Daily Mirror today.  The 27 year old Montenegro striker could cost up to £12 million, but has said he doesn't want to leave his club.
   The report also re-iterates Harry Redknapp's interest in Espanyol's Argentinian striker Pablo Osvaldo hinting at a £13 million bid, but claims that the manager might be ready to sell Jermain Defoe, Peter Crouch and Roman Pavyluchenko, although Daniel Levy would want £11 million for Crouch and not less than the £14 million he paid for Pav.
   The Daily Mail says that if Spurs can sell Wilson Palacios to Napoli, it will pave the way for them to sign Scott Parker from relegated West Ham United.  Spurs are favourites to land the England midfielder following the East London side finishing bottom of the Premier League last season.
   The Times suggests that Spurs are keen to sign Blackburn Rovers' giant Republic of Congo centre-half Christopher Samba.
   The Daily Star claim Arsenal may make a move for Jermain Defoe.
   Roman Pavyluchenko scored a hat-trick as Russia won 3-1 at home against Armenia in their Euro 2012 qualifier.
   Robbie Keane scored twice in the Republic of Ireland's 2-0 Euro 2012 qualifier against Macedonia in Skopje tonight.
   Sandro was an unused substitute in Brazil's 0-0 home friendly draw with Holland  tonight.

   American goalkeeper Brad Friedel has agreed to join Tottenham on a two year deal.  The 40 year old is a free agent after his contract with Aston Villa expired and he will challenge Heurelho Gomes for the goalie's gloves in the first team.
   Vedran Corluka and Luka Modric both played the entire 90 minutes of the Euro 2012 qualifier tonight at home to Georgia that ended in a 3-1 win for Croatia.
   Younes Kaboul was an unused substitute in France's 1-1 home draw with Belarus in their Euro 2012 qualifier tonight.
   TalkSport's website reckons that 33 year old Chelsea striker Didier Drogba will turn his back on a move to AC Milan in favour of joining Spurs.
   But over in the Daily Mirror, they think that 32 year old Miroslav Klose will be a Spurs player after becoming a free agent when his contract at Bayern Munich expired, although Everton, Juventus and Valencia are also interested in the German international striker.
   The Daily Mail claim Spurs have had a £10.5 million bid for Leandro Damiao of Brazilian club Internacional, but the Times reckon that an increased bid of £13.2 million has been placed as Spurs seek to sign the striker who has one cap for his country.
   The Sun report that Wilson Palacios' move to Napoli may not proceed as Spurs want £12 million for the 26 year old Honduran midfielder
   Former Spurs midfielder Didier Zokora has left Sevilla to move to Turkey having signed for Trabzonspor.

   The Mirror claims that Wilson Palacios was heading for Napoli in a £7 million deal.
   Real Madrid's Argentinian striker Gonzalo Higuain look set to leave the Bernabeu and Manchester City, Arsenal and Spurs are all watching the situation very closely it is reported in the Mail.
   Steven Pienaar may miss South Africa's game against Egypt in the African Cup of Nations in Cairo after picking up a knee injury after being tackled by team-mate Happy Jele in training.
   Spurs have agreed to take part in a series of matches in a youth tournament called the Nextgen Series, in which four groups of four Under-19 teams play home and away before progressing to a knock out phase with other teams drawn from across Europe, namely : -
Aston Villa, Barcelona, FC Basel, Celtic, Fenerbahce, Internazionale, Liverpool, Manchester City, Marseille, Molde, PSV Eindhoven, Rosenborg, Sporting Lisbon, Spurs and Wolfsburg

   Manchester United are making Luka Modric one of their main summer transfer targets according to the Daily Mirror, but Harry Redknapp has said that none of Tottenham's top players will be leaving in contrast with comments made to the Press in Croatia by the midfielder, who said he is happy with his life at Tottenham, but if an offer came in from a club in the Champions League and it suited Spurs, anything could happen.
   The Mirror reveals that Espanyol want £17 million for striker Pablo Osvaldo, with Fulham having already bid £10 million, but having had it turned down.
   The same newspaper recounts how Harry Redknapp is talking with Jonathan Woodgate about a pay-as-you-play contract for the coming season.
   Also in the Mirror, they claim that QPR manager Neil Warnock wants to take defenders Kyle Walker and Kyle Naughton on loan for the 2011-12 season, but with Spurs set to offer both Warnock's former charges at Sheffield United new contracts may be loaned out to gain more top level experience.
   The Daily Star reports that Manchester United and Spurs are both chasing Real Madrid midfielder Lassana Diarra.
   A Spurs XI will take on MK Dons at the Stadium:MK on Tuesday 26th July in a pre-season match with the kick off at 19:30.
   Former Spurs defender Pascal Chimbonda has been released by Queens Park Rangers.
   Former Spurs reserve defender Charlie Lee has been made available on a free transfer by Peterborough United.
   Former Spurs reserve goalkeeper Nicky Eyre has been signed by Chelmsford City.
