Spurs beat Brighton & Hove Albion 3-2 in a friendly to open
their new Amex Stadium this afternoon. The Tottenham goals

Tottenham are linked with a £21 million move for Valencia

Chelsea are said to be ready to make a final £30 million bid
for Luka Modric, according to the Daily Star.
The Daily Mail has Spurs down as making a £15 million offer
for Blackburn Rovers defender Christopher Samba.
Nikola Zigic's agent has mentioned Manchester City
and Spurs in a statement about his client leaving Birmingham
City in a Sky Sports News website piece, but only if those
clubs shed their tall strikers already in place and any
interest in the player had been historic rather than current.
Spurs are said to be offering a choice of Robbie Keane,
Niko Kranjcar and David Bentley to AS Roma to
tempt them to part with striker Mirko Vucinic, the
Daily Mail claims.

The Sunday People carries a story about QPR wanting to take
Peter Crouch on a season long loan, as they cannot
afford to buy him, but they would have to pay a significant
chunk of his £70,000 a week wages.
In the same paper they reveal that Tottenham might be ready
to make a move for the free transfer of Diego Forlan
from Atletico Madrid, as the Uruguayan striker has fallen
out with the club's hierarchy and they may be willing to let
him leave after a less than impressive season.
Tottenham are trying to negotiate down his £170,000 a week
wages to something like £90,000 a week and the forward seems
to be interested in the move to London.
Bristol City and Reading are both said to be interested in
taking Bongani Khumalo on loan according to the
People.
The Daily Star reports that Chelsea are ready to offer £27
million plus striker Daniel Sturridge in exchange for
Luka Modric.
Spurs have allegedly made an enquiry for Barcelona
midfielder Ibrahim Afellay on a two year deal with
the Spanish club having a buy-back clause at the end of that
time.
Brad Friedel and Robbie Keane have been
selected to play in an All-Stars team against the New York

The People claims that Spurs have allowed QPR to have talks
with Peter Crouch over a move to Loftus Road. A
deal of about £6 million could seal a repeat of the move
that saw the tall striker leave Spurs for Rangers earlier in
his career.
The paper also reports that Getafe are heading the queue of

Tottenham Hotspur's first pre-season friendly in the Vodacom
tournament in Polokwane ended in a last minute 1-0 win for
Kaizer Chiefs.
Spurs are set to receive a £30 million offer for Luka
Modric from Chelsea, according to the Daily Mirror.
It reports that the club are saying they have not received a
transfer request from Modric, although "Sky Sports sources"
believe he has.
Having received £20 million for Stewart Downing, Aston Villa
are set to splash out on a number of players, one of whom
might be Alan Hutton, the Mirror reveals.
The Mirror also reports that the deal to sign 20 year old
Jaguares striker Antonio Pedroza Whitham has
collapsed after the player flew in to London for talks.
It appears that a dispute over the fee for the player had
lead to Tottenham withdrawing from discussions over a
transfer for the forward.
Robbie Keane has been included in the Republic of
Ireland squad for the country's friendly against Croatia on
10th August in Dublin.

both miss out for tomorrow's match against the Kaizer Chiefs
in Polokwane.
Sandro today underwent knee surgery on his cartilage
and will be out of action for three months.
TalkSport's website claims Spurs are the latest club to show
an interest in buying Xherdan Shaqiri from FC Basel,
who would cost about £5 million.
The website also claims that Tottenham and Sevilla are at
odds over how much Giovani dos Santos is worth, while
Udinese and Valencia are both interested in the Mexican
forward.
In the Daily Mirror, they think Spurs might run out of time

trial with Southend United.
The Spurs Legends are playing a charity match at Ebbsfleet
United FC, Stonebridge Road, Northfleet DA 11 9GN on Sunday
17th July with a 14.00 kick off in aid of the Development of
Pancreatic Cancer Research. The charity are
hoping to raise £20,000 to help buy Barts and The London
John Vane Science Centre a much needed new machine to look
at patients tests results which can have results within the
hour as opposed to the old laser machine which keeps
breaking and takes two weeks to get results.

himself from stories which appeared in the papers yesterday
saying he was in dispute with the club. The Spurs
captain denied this and said he was happy at Spurs.
Tottenham are alleged to have made a £12.3 million bid for

Tottenham confirmed the signing of former Barcelona
youngster Cristian Ceballos, an 18 year old forward,
who had a trial at Spurs at the back end of last season and
also trialled at Chelsea. The player was an internet
phenomena when he ball juggled with Ronaldinho on You Tube,
but his failure to progress led to the Spanish club
cancelling his contract.
Ledley King has undergone knee surgery and will be

Daniel Levy is expected to rebuff an improved offer

The Daily Mail claims Luka Modric will put in a
transfer request to try and push through a move to Chelsea,
after his criticism of Daniel Levy yesterday.
The Daily Mirror claims that Tottenham have moved ahead
Arsenal for the signing of the Blackburn Rovers central
defender Christopher Samba for £12 million, which
Arsene Wenger regards as too much. However, it is

Luka Modric is alleged to have told a Croatian
newspaper that Daniel Levy has lied about what was
really said at his meeting with the midfielder, with the
chairman supposedly breaking a "gentleman's agreement" to
let him go should a big club come in for him with a bid that
would make a move mutually beneficial for both parties.

Luka Modric has met with Daniel Levy and the
Spurs chairman reiterated his stance in announcing that the
Croatian midfielder will not be moving away from White Hart
Lane.
Napoli are keen on Wilson Palacios for £11 million,
but have some concerns about the knee injury he suffered
last season, the Daily Mirror reports.
In the same paper, Roman Pavlyuchenko has blasted
rumours of him moving to Uzbekistan club Anzhi Makhachkala
as "total rubbish".
Niko Kranjcar is complaining in the Daily Mirror that
the £12 million being asked for him is preventing him moving
away from White Hart Lane.

Sky Sports claim that Luka Modric and his
representatives will seek an urgent meeting with Daniel
Levy when the Croatian midfielder returns to the club
after his summer holiday and he will demand a move to
Chelsea.
The Olympic Park Legacy Company have said they will carry
out an independent review of the decision process to give the
stadium to West Ham United. But I can tell you what
the outcome will be now !! The only thing that appears
transparent about the process is the skin of the stadium's
walls. Boris Johnson has already said West Ham should
get on with it and the Mayor of Newham is trying to rush
things through too ... "the sooner we get on with it the
better for the country." What is it they say about

The majority of the Spurs squad returned to training today
at Spurs Lodge.
Danny Rose has signed a contract extension that will
run until July 2015 and Kyle Walker has also extended
his current deal, taking him through to July 2016.
Rumours of Paris St. Germain's interest in defender
Benoit Assou-Ekotto have been refuted by the player, who
said he was not unhappy at Spurs.
The Daily Mail claim that Spurs are set to nip in ahead of
Liverpool and AS Roma to sign £14 million rated Barcelona
striker Bojan Krkic, who looks set to leave the Nou
Camp this summer.
But in the Times, they claim that Tottenham are confident of
signing Internacional's Brazilian striker Leandro Damiao
and that the club have also had talks with AS Roma about
their forward Mirko Vucinic.
Harry Redknapp was on Sky Sports News tonight and hinted
that Jake Livermore and Bongani Khumalo will
be going on loan to Glasgow Rangers.
Football 365 claim that Tottenham are chasing the signature
of Eliaquim Mangala of Standard Liege, but the £4
million rated French Under-21 defender is also being courted
by Arsenal, Lille and Paris St. Germain.
The Olympic Stadium row rumbles on with West Ham United
taking their legal action on the evidence of the Sunday
Times article claiming Spurs used private investigators to
find details of the bank account of the person implicate din

West Ham United are to take legal action against Tottenham
and the Sunday Times over allegation as about the fairness
of the decision of who would occupy the Olympic Stadium.
This follows the allegations that a member of the Olympic
Park Legacy Company was carrying out consultancy for the
Championship club and that she was also in a relationship
with an employee of the relegated club.
West Bromwich Albion, Liverpool and Spurs are apparently
chasing midfielder Jack Collison, according to
the News of the World.

The Independent reveals that Spurs will receive 40% of any
fee received by Queens Park Rangers for midfielder Adel
Taarabt, as it was a condition of the deal that took him
to Loftus Road last summer.
Sky Sports website claim that Bolton Wanderers have an
interest in buying Robbie Keane and that Spurs may be
willing to do business, especially if he is part of a deal
to bring central defender Gary Cahill to White Hart
Lane.
Former Spurs winger Andy Reid has re-joined
Nottingham Forest after being released by Blackpool at the

The club today made an application to the Regional Growth
Fund for money to provide infrastructure and enabling works
for the Northumberland Park Development to go ahead.
The Fund can give funding for projects which will provide
private sector jobs and with the ground sitting in one of
the most deprived areas of the country it is hoped that the
fact that Spurs wanting to grow as a private company in an
area where unemployment is high will persuade the
organisation to provide the money that will help with
restoring historic buildings, improvements to stations,
construct a combined heating and cooling plant and provide
training and employment opportunities.
Tottenham are interested in signing Atletico Madrid striker
Fernando Llorente, who would cost about £20 million,
but Harry Redknapp has been told he must sell two of
his strikers to do so, it is reported in the Daily Mirror.
Villarreal striker Giuseppe Rossi's move to Barcelona
may have fallen through according to a piece in the Daily
Mail and this might revitalise Tottenham's interest in the
£35 million rated forward.
The Mail also says that Niko Kranjcar's agent has
said that there is interest from Fiorentina and Dynamo Kiev,
but Spurs are not making any move to sell the Croatian
midfielder yet.
The Sun claim that Leicester City want to sign central defender
Jonathan Woodgate.
Central defender Steven Caulker has been signed by
Swansea City on a season long loan.
The draw for the NextGen European youth league has put
Tottenham in a group with Internazionale, FC Basel of
Switzerland and PSV Eindhoven. Teams will play each
other home and away, with the finals for the top two teams
in each of the four groups playing off in January, with the
matches perhaps to be staged in Abu Dhabi.
