Midfielder Steven Pienaar has completed his move back
to Everton for £4.5 million.
Gareth Bale should be OK to start the season after
the tackle on him by some no-talent Scot in the Liverpool
game left him worried there may be ankle ligament damage
again.
The Daily Mail claim Spurs are considering a £7.5 million
move for 17 year old Liverpool winger Raheem Stirling.
Also in the Mail, they claim Spurs may be tempted to go for
Olympique Lyonnais left back Aly Cissokho, who is
known to Andre Villas-Boas from his time at Porto.
It is believed the French club would ask for £7 million for
the French international.

Gareth Bale has called Charlie Adam a "coward" after

The Daily Mail says that goalkeeper Hugo Lloris will

Sandro played 64 minutes for the Brazil Olympic team
before being substituted in their 3-1 win over Belarus at
the Old Trafford today.
In the Sunday Mirror, it is intimated that Manchester City
are unhappy with Spurs, as a £6 million fee was agreed for
Emmanuel Adebayor to allow Tottenham to pay him the
wages he demands, but they feel that Daniel Levy has
gone back on this agreement and now want them to allow him
to leave for free, according to an insider.
Also in the Mirror, they claim Spurs are looking to sign
Mousa Dembele from Fulham bidding around £10 million,
although the Cottagers want £15 million.
The Mirror report that the figures in Joe Allen's
contract that would allow teams to buy him from Swansea City
are £15 million for the four clubs mentioned yesterday and
£12 million for anyone else..
In The Sun on Sunday, they claim a £36 million deal had been
agreed for the transfer of Luka Modric to Real Madrid.
The same paper reckons a £4 million fee has been agreed to
take Steven Pienaar back to Everton, although the
Sunday Express puts it as low as £2 million.
The Express also claim that Spurs are watching Birmingham
City and Team GB goalkeeper Jack Butland.
Ledley King has revealed to the Sun that he suffered
the injury that has dogged him throughout his senior career
just 30 seconds into his debut at Derby County in 1999, when
a tackle from Rory Delap left him needing an operation on
his knee that has plagued him ever since. His England
career also ended early in a game against the USA in the
2010 World Cup, landing awkwardly after just three minutes.
The player said he cried when he realised that his career
had come to an end, but knew that after the Norwich City
game at White Hart Lane last season that things were not
good.

The Daily Mirror claims that Jose Mourinho, who is a
personal friend of Daniel Levy, has phoned the Spurs
chairman to try to convince him it is in the best interests
of the club to release Luka Modric to join Real
Madrid.
Meanwhile the Daily Star claims that Spurs have discovered
that there is a clause in Joe Allen's Swansea City
contract that says he will cost £20 million if Manchester
City, Manchester United, Arsenal or Liverpool come in for
him, but anyone else can have him for £10 million.

A Spurs XI will play Northampton Town at Sixfields in a

The Daily Star claim that Emmanuel Adebayor may not

Brazil beat Egypt 3-2 at the Millennium Stadium in their
London 2012 Olympic group game tonight.
Giovani dos Santos was a
66th minute substitute for Mexico in their 0-0 draw with
South Korea at Newcastle United in their London 2012 Olympic group game tonight.
Stuart Pearce will not make a complaint about Gareth Bale
not playing for his Team GB football squad according to the
Metro and on the BBC website, Lord Moyinhan has said that
Bale should not be banned, in spite of what Sepp Blatter
said. In response to Blatter's comments, Tottenham
released a statement that explained the Welshman's situation
and that he had never been prevented from joining up with
the squad, but that his medical scans had been shown to the
Team GB doctors and they felt that he would not recover in
time for the Olympics.
Jermain Defoe will be flying home from Tottenham's
American tour after the death of his cousin while on holiday
in St.. Lucia. Our condolences go to him and his
family on their sad loss.

A row has blown up over Gareth Bale's participation
in Tottenham's tour of America, while the Team GB football
squad prepares for their first game. Bale was not
selected for the Olympic squad because of a back problem,
but has made a speedy recovery, although being nursed
through the Spurs pre-season games. Sepp Blatter
couldn't help but get involved saying that if a complaint
was to be received from a national FA, then FIFA could ban
the player from taking part in the rest of the pre-season
programme while the Olympics were on.
The Daily Mirror claims that Paris St. Germain are ready to
pay £40 million to Spurs for Luka Modric, although
the Croatian midfielder's preferred destination is Real
Madrid, who still appear confident of getting the deal done,
despite only offering £28 million.
Spurs are looking a making a bid for Brazilian attacking
midfielder Willian, with a fee of £19 million for the
23 year old likely to be enough to prise him away from
Shakthar Donetsk claim the Daily Mail.
In the Daily Telegraph, they claim that Spurs are interested
in signing Fulham forward Mousa Dembele, with the
Cottagers demanding £15 million for the Belgian
international.

Luka Modric has been reported to have apologised to
Daniel Levy for missing training, with the club
issuing a statement to say that he was back at Spurs Lodge
in training on Monday.
The Daily Star are carrying a piece claiming that Spurs are
keen to include 22 year old German born Spanish striker
Joselu in any deal that might take Modric to Real Madrid.
Jermaine Jenas is a target for Nottingham Forest
claim the Daily Mirror, with a loan possible, with Forest
also looking at a permanent deal.
TalkSport claim that Spurs might make a move for Swansea
City and Newcastle United target Ryan Babel.
The former Liverpool winger has fallen out with the
management at Hoffenheim and Spurs might look to pick
him up for as little as £3 million. The Daily Mail say

In The Sun, they report that Everton, Newcastle United and

It is reported widely that Luka Modric has been fined
two weeks wages for missing training and in the Sunday
Mirror, Rafael van der Vaart believes the player has
gone back to Croatia in an attempt to force a move to Real
Madrid, but this will not go down well with chairman
Daniel Levy, who is in America with his wife who is
reportedly ill. Head Coach Andre Villas-Boas
has said it is making a bad situation worse.
The Star Sunday claim that West Ham United want their former
striker Jermain Defoe.
In the Mail on Sunday, they report that Steven Pienaar
will re-sign for his former club Everton in a few days time
for £5 million.
The same paper reckons Spurs had scouts at the Team GB v
Brazil pre-Olympic friendly at Middlesbrough on Friday to
watch Leandro Damiao and Hulk.

asking price of £35 million is unlikely to be met by Real

Daniel Levy is starting talks with Olympique
Lyonnais to sign goalkeeper Hugo Lloris, but there is
still some discrepancy between what Spurs will offer and
what the selling club are asking, with £15 million wanted
and Tottenham offering £12 million.
The
Sun claim that Emmanuel Adebayor may sit out the last
year of his contract at Manchester City rather than take a
£3 million a year pay cut by joining Spurs. The Daily
Express reckon that Emmanuel Adebayor is refusing to
sign a deal with Spurs as his representatives feel that he
should be paid a lot more than Tottenham are offering.
Former Spurs reserve goalkeeper Tommy Forecast has
joined Gillingham on a year long loan from Southampton.
Spurs are looking at 27 year old Spain and Malaga midfielder
Santi Cazorla as a possible replacement for Luka
Modric, with TalkSport claiming he may cost £15 million,
with Giovani dos Santos perhaps being used as a
make-weight in the deal.

announced his retirement from playing today. Having
suffered with knee problems for some years, the Tottenham
man, who has been at the club for 17 years, has decided to
hang up his boots, but will be staying with the club as an

Spurs are in talks with Brighton and Hove Albion defender
Grant Hall, according to the TalkSport website The
20 year old is out of contract with the Seagulls and played

signing of Porto striker Hulk, who may cost as much

The deal to take Luka Modric to Real Madrid could be
done in the next 48 hours, according to the Sun on Sunday.
The Daily Mirror claims that Tim Sherwood's new role
at the club has not yet got a title, but he will be making
the decisions on the development and recruitment of the
young players at the club, with the soon to retire Ledley
King assisting him.
Brazilian midfielder Ganso will leave Santos this
summer, but he will not leave for a cut-price deal the club

Arsenal are keen on the 22 year old Brazilian international,
who has a £45 million buy-out clause in his contract.
The Sunday Express claims Spurs have agreed to allow

for the England striker.

Spurs have agreed a fee to sign Emmanuel Adebayor
from Manchester City. Believed to be £4 million, Spurs
will allegedly pay the striker £110,000 a week.
Talksport claim that Spurs are willing to pay the £15
million buy-out clause in the contract of Atletico Madrid
striker Adrian Lopez. The 24 year old is in the
Spanish Olympic squad.
Porto manager Vitor Pereira claims Spurs will have to
pay £31.5 million to buy Joao Moutinho.
Spurs confirmed the players who have left the club this
summer on the official website. These are Ben
Alnwick, Oscar Jansson, Mirko Ranieri, Louis Saha, Kudos
Oyenuga and Jesse Waller-Lassen. Academy
players Paul McBride, Lee Angol, Ronnie Hawkins, Ramil
Sheriff and James Yeboah have all been released
too.
The club have announced that Cameron Lancaster and

given first year professional contracts, while William

defender Jan Vertonghen after he passed a medical
today.

Spurs are said to be set to sign Emmanuel Adebayor
from Manchester City for £5 million allowing a big signing
on fee to equate to him being paid £170,000 a week salary,
as this will allow City to start their move for Robin van
Persie, the Sun reports. They claim that with Gareth
Bale earning over £100,000 a week, the club intend to
give Andre Villas-Boas the best chance of success by
attracting the best players. The Daily Mail claims Adebayor
would be paid £115,000 a week with a £4 million signing on
fee.
The Daily Mirror claims that Spurs will beat Arsenal to the
signing of Nottingham Forest's 18 year old England Under-19
defender Jamaal Lascelles.
Also in the Mirror, they report that Chelsea are attempting
to jump ahead of Spurs in the signing of Internacional and
Brazil midfielder Oscar by offering £25 million.
The paper reckons Spurs are closing in on the transfer of
Porto midfielder Joao Moutinho as a replacement for
Real Madrid bound Luka Modric. The player would cost
£22 million, with that money coming from the Modric deal,
but Real are hoping to a swap deal with £28 million plus 34
year old defender Ricardo Carvalho, but Daniel
Levy is holding out for a deal amounting to nearer the
£35 million he prices the Croatian at.
The Daily Mail report that Spurs and Chelsea will vie for
the £20 million signing of Poland and Borussia Dortmund
striker Robert Ledandowski.
The paper also carries a story claiming that Spurs and
Liverpool are interested in 17 year old Caen striker
M'Baye Niang, who is having a trial with Arsenal.
The Mail reports that a deal for 30 year old midfielder
Kaka to leave Real Madrid for Chinese club Guangzhou
Evergrande have broken down and while the player would like
to join his former club AC Milan, Internazionale, Paris St.
Germain and Spurs are also watching the situation with
interest. However, Madrid have an asking price of £19.8
million for the Brazilian.
L'Equipe, the French sports paper reports that Spurs have
opened negotiations with Olympique Lyonnais goalkeeper
Hugo Lloris with a view to a £13 million transfer.
In the Daily Express, they have Spurs and Arsenal ready to
battle over the signing of Barcelona midfielder Ibrahim
Affelay, who would cost £6 million.
Harry Kane scored the winning goal for England

26 year old Emiliano Viviano, an Italian goalkeeper,
who is part owned by Internazionale and Palermo. With Inter
signing Spurs target Samir Handanovic, it may leave

The signing of Jan Vertonghen moves closer with the
talks the player's agent and Ajax, but the negotiations are
not yet complete.
The Sun reckon that Tottenham have made a £13 million bid
for Olympique Lyonnais goalkeeper Hugo Lloris.
The Daily Mail claims that Andre Villas-Boas has told
Jermain Defoe that he is not leaving Spurs this
summer, after the striker had wanted to be moved on
following a lack of opportunities given to him by Harry
Redknapp.
Luka Modric is close to getting his move to Real
Madrid soon, but while he has agreed personal terms, the fee
is still in debate, with Spurs asking for £40 million and
Real wanting to pay nearer £30 million.
The Metro report that Spurs may make a move for long time
transfer target Lassana Diarra after Real Madrid have
said he can leave.

Ezekiel Fryers looks set to sign for Spurs in the
next few days thus causing Alex Ferguson to fume at losing
the 19 year old left back. His fee will fall to a tribunal
to decide, with Spurs thought not value the player at £2
million according to the Sun, while Manchester United want
£4 million although they were only willing to offer Fryers
£1,500 a week on a new deal. The Daily Mail reckons Spurs
have agreed a four year deal for the youngster.
The Sun also reveal that Luka Modric is setting a 17th
July deadline for Real Madrid to sign him or he will
investigate other options or even stay at Spurs.
The Spurs XI's friendly against Watford for Lloyd Doyley's
testimonial has been changed to a first team friendly and
the date is put back a day to Sunday 5th August with a 15:00
kick off.
Sandro has been selected for the Brazilian Olympic
squad, along with a number of other full international

The Daily Mail reckon that Jan Vertonghen's move to

said to be priced at £20 million.
Also in the Mail, Tottenham are reported to be ready to bid
£7 million for Birmingham City goalkeeper Jack Butland,
who was with England for the Euro 2012 finals. They also
claim that Spurs are willing to listen to offers in the
region of £10 million for Rafael van der Vaart, who
has expressed an interest in returning to Germany, to be
closer to his wife's work.
Goalkeeper Ben Alnwick has joined Barnsley on a free
transfer.
Former Tottenham defender Jonathan Woodgate has
rejoined Middlesbrough on a free transfer from Stoke City on
a three year deal.

Spurs are said to be ready to make a bid for Olympique

wanting £16 million according to the Telegraph. The
paper also claims that Spurs have made an £11 million bid to
Internacional for midfielder Oscar.
The Daily Mirror claim that Everton are making Steven
Pienaar one of their key signings this summer, but the South

Tottenham completed the signing of 1899 Hoffenheim
midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson today. The player
who was on loan at Swansea City last week cost an estimated
£8 million.
The Daily Mirror claims that Spurs Head Coach Andre
Villas-Boas will have £50 million to spend on players to
bolster the squad and the players he is interested in are
Gylfi Sigurdsson (Hoffenheim midfielder), Loic Remy

at Tottenham Hotspur on a three year deal today. The
former FC Porto and Chelsea manager brings with him Jose Mario Rocha
as fitness coach and Daniel
Sousa as his opposition scout.
The Daily Mail is reporting that AVB might move
for a striker at his former club Chelsea, with Daniel
Sturridge having one year left on his contract and Spurs
might try a £10 million bid for the former Manchester City
forward.
The Sun claims the new manager wants to sign Internacional's
Brazilian midfielder Oscar, but Daniel Levy is
worried that the player may cost £20 million.
The Guardian has Joao Moutinho as AVB's first

new Spurs manager, the Sunday Express reports that his first
signing could be Theo Walcott.
According to the Observer, Spurs are also keen on
Internacional's 20 year old Brazilian playmaker Oscar.
The Daily Mirror reports that Manchester City will have to
sell Emmanuel Adebayor before they are able to buy
Robin van Persie from Arsenal. Spurs are looking at
getting the Togo striker on a free transfer and pay him the
remainder of the two years on his City contract as a signing
on fee, so that will allow them to pay him a lower salary
than the £170,000 a week he earns at the Etihad.
The paper also claims that Tottenham are eyeing Klass Jan
Huntelaar of Hamburg and may e ready to give Steven
Caulker a leading role in the middle of the defence next
season, with William Gallas a possible departure in
that area of the team.
The Daily Mail claims Spurs are in for CSKA Moscow attacking
midfielder Alan Dzagoev according to the player's
father.
