It has been revealed on the internet that the cause of the hold up in Clinton N'Jie's loan move to Marseille is down to the fact that he filled in his visa application wrongly.  Spurs are meanwhile looking to South America, where Velez Sarsfield striker - 17 year old Maxi Romero (didn't he record "Chase The Devil" ?) - is a target, with Arsenal also keen on the Argentinian youngster.  Kieran Trippier has said he is not leaving Tottenham this summer, while Federico Fazio has been offered to AS Roma, as Spurs try to shift the Spanish central defender and Tottenham are set to rival Liverpool for the signing of Croatian Internazionale midfielder Marcelo Brozovic.
Some good injury news in that Jan Vertonghen may not be out for as long as predicted after picking up an injury in the Euro 2106 tournament.  Spurs will assess the Belgian defender's ankle on their return to England to see if he could be fit for the first game of the season at Everton.  Christian Eriksen's viral infection appears to have cleared and he might well feature in tomorrow's International Champions Cup match in Melbourne against Atletico Madrid.

The big story today is that Argentina want Mauricio Pochettino as their new national team manager.  Well, he is actually one of three managers the Argentinian FA are travelling to Europe to speak to.  So, a lot of journalistic licence has been taken.  Meanwhile, the Spurs squad for the trip to play Juventus and Atletico Madrid does not contain the players who took part in the Euro 2016 tournament, apart from Kevin Wimmer, but contains a number of the development squad, although Nabil Bentaleb, Clinton N'Jie, Alex Pritchard and Federico Fazio, so the media claim they will all be sold before the season begins.  Apparently, Spurs, West ham United and Arsenal have put in offers for German international defender  Matthias Ginter.  The Daily Mail claims Spurs are interested in Schalke 04's 19 year old midfielder Max Meyer.

Weird transfer stories are starting to circulate as we get nearer the start of the season.  Arsenal were supposed to have made an enquiry about Clinton N'Jie before his loan move to Marseille was sorted out and there are also links to 23 year old Kaiserslautern and Luxembourg striker Maurice Deville and to 22 year old Borussia Dortmund and German international defender Matthias Ginter.  The club are also reported to be in for 21 year old Fenerbahce's Turkish midfielder Ozan Tufan.

Tottenham lost a training ground friendly 0-1 to Fulham at Hotspur Way this afternoon.
Much debate in the media today concerns the pricing of Georginio Wijnaldum and whether Spurs will pay Newcastle United what they want. Marseille winger Georges-Kevin N’Koudou is another recurring name linked with Tottenham, but having to pay ten times what the French club shelled out last year might put Daniel Levy off signing this 21 year old.  Federico Fazio is close to a move to Espanyol on loan, with the La Liga club paying a loan fee and his wages, with an option to buy (hopefully) at the end of the season.

Tottenham have announced that Wembley's full capacity of 90,000 will be available for the Champions League fixtures being held there this season while White Hart Lane undergoes development into the club's new stadium.  A package for three Group games and priority for following matches will be available.
According to reports coming out of Turkey, Spurs, Manchester United and Liverpool are looking at Fenerbahce midfielder Ozan Tuffan, while the 21 year old can also play full back.  Some familiar names of recent days are still linked with Spurs, including Juventus striker Mauro Icardi, Bayern Munich's German international midfielder Mario Gőtze and his colleague in the national side from 1FC Koln, Jonas Hector.  Barcelona winger Cristian Tello is still being mentioned in the same sentence as Tottenham Hotspur and so are the Newcastle United midfield pair Moussa Sissoko and Georginio Wijnaldum.  Espanyol do not seem keen to pay Tottenham's asking price of around GBP7 million for Federico Fazio, so a season long loan might be negotiated.  One new name linked with Spurs is Juventus' 19 year old midfielder Rolando Mandragora, who was on loan at Pescara after signing for Juve in January this year.  It appears another loan could be an option, as the Serie A champions do not want to lose this promising Italian Under-21 international.
16 year old midfielder Nya Kirby has left Spurs to join Chelsea.
