  Dean Marney has returned to Tottenham from his loan spell at Norwich City as he ruptured an Achilles tendon in Saturday's match against Sheffield Wednesday and will be out for three months.
  Ledley King has told the London Evening Standard that he would be happy to sign a long term contract with Spurs as he feels that the club are going in the right direction.  The Spurs captain said that he is leaving negotiations to his agent and the club with a £50,000 a week contract looking likely.  His current deal, signed this year, expires in the summer of 2008, but Tottenham will be looking to tie him in to a longer contract to keep him at White Hart Lane
  Crystal Palace chairman Simon Jordan has said that he is still raging about Wayne Routledge leaving the Championship side and that the winger arranged the transfer to Spurs a whole year before he arrived at White Hart Lane.

  Sol Campbell was involved in a verbal bust-up with a Spurs fan as he was lead up the tunnel at the end of yesterday's game.  The Tottenham supporter is alleged to have verbally abused him, while reports in the papers today say Campbell was involved in a heated response.  Club officials have identified the fan and are undertaking their own investigation into the matter.
  Rochdale's hot-shot striker grant Holt is supposed to have caught Martin Jol's eye, as he regularly hits the net for the League Two side, the News of the World reports.
  The Sunday Mirror claims Andy Reid is on the verge of being sold by Spurs.
  The Daily Star Sunday reports that Robbie Keane has dropped a hint that he would be very eager to join Liverpool in the transfer window in January.
  The Under-16s found themselves 0-3 down, but came back to draw 3-3 with goals from Kyle Fraser-Allen, Terry Dixon and David Hutton.

  Tesco, the supermarket chain, today revealed that they are terminating the deal for the executive box they hold at White Hart Lane and taking up a contract for one at the new Highbury.
  Spurs Under-18s came back fro 0-2 down to beat Ipswich Town 3-2 away from home.  The goals were scored by Simon Dawkins, Stuart Lewis and Andy Barcham

  Peter Taylor missed out on the loan signing of Tom Huddlestone after the Spurs defender/midfielder joined Wolverhampton Wanderers for a month.  The England Under-21 manager was keen to take Huddlestone to Hull City, but was a bit late in trying to sign him up.
  TOTTENHAM HOSTPUR TEAM NEWS : - There are no injury doubts, although Spurs will be missing Edgar Davids through suspension.  Teemu Tainio is fit and ready to be selected.
  ARSENAL TEAM NEWS : -  Thierry Henry is 30-70 for the game after suffering a relapse of his groin injury.  Reyes and Ljungberg look like being fit for the game.

  Lincoln City are considering a loan move for Tottenham reserve striker Lee Barnard.
  Former Spurs midfielder Paul Gascoigne has been installed as manager of Kettering Town after being part of the consortium that has taken over the non-league club.

  Spurs beat Ipswich Town 1-0 in a private friendly at the Suffolk club's training ground yesterday.  Jamie O'Hara scored from a curling free-kick and Noe Pamarot played 45 minutes in his first game after suffering cruciate ligament damage last season.
  Gary Neville believes that Manchester United should concentrate on over-taking Wigan Athletic and Spurs in the Premier League rather than catching Chelsea, as United assistant manager Carlos Quieroz reckons his side should do.
  Tottenham Hotspur have asked us to inform readers and fans that the registration for the new website is only designed to make things easier for access and ordering from the new site.  All the usual access to pages to buy tickets, buy merchandise, go in to the Spurs Lodge website, post messages on the forum, get our email newsletters etc will remain, but you will have to log in. But if you are sat down at your computer and wanting to buy a ticket, buy a shirt and say morning to your mates on the forum, you would have to log in THREE times. The registration is intended to make everything easier for fans by having a single log in so that you only have to log in once and can then enter all of these areas. To do anyone who wants to access these areas has to register - simple as that. To avoid a panic to register when you might desperately want to buy a ticket to a big game, the club are trying to get people to do it in advance of the new site's launch.  Your details will not be sold on to third parties by the club.

  Spurs midfielder/defender Tom Huddlestone has joined Wolverhampton Wanderers on a month's loan.  The player will give Wolves some options and will allow him to get some first team football experience.
  Tottenham transfer target Abdoulaye Balde wants to stay in France according to the Sky Sports website.  The 18 year old wants to keep playing for Amiens and that focus will help him keep his mind from considering the rumours that are criculating about moves to Spurs, St. Etienne and Paris St. Germain.
  Martin Jol has said that if Mido keeps doing what he is doing for the first team and can score 13 or 14 goals, then he would think about a permanent move for the Egyptian striker.  Jol said he likes Mido and Spurs might make a move for him nearer the end of the season or maybe earlier !!

  Today is the first anniversary of the death of Sir Bill Nicholson.  May the great man continue to rest in peace.
  Celtic are preparing a bid for Robbie Keane in January according to the News fo the World.
  Spurs have been watching Ajax duo - utility man Nigel de Jong and South African midfielder Stephen Pienaar, but they are not alone as the Sunday Mirror reports that Liverpool, Birmingham City and Celtic all were represented at the midweek Champions League meeting with Olympiakos.
  The Mirror also reveals that Mido is keen to join Spurs and the fee is a maximum of £3 million, as the clause is in his loan deal and he can see no reason why he shouldn't stay at White Hart Lane on a permanent basis.
  Tottenham Hotspur's record of eleven straight wins from the start of a top flight season will remain after Chelsea failed to beat bottom club Everton today, drawing 1-1 at Goodison Park.

  Spurs are considering a move for Viking Stavanger's Norwegian defender Brede Hangeland, according to the Daily Mirror.  Yes, we need another defender at the moment (unless he is a left back, in which case we DO need him).
  
TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR TEAM NEWS : -  Martin Jol was hoping that Mido would be fit to play, after he was expected to train today after being a worry with a slight thigh strain.
  
MANCHESTER UNITED TEAM NEWS : -  Ronaldo is expected to play in tomorrow's game, while Louis Saha and Wes Brown are both fit, but are not expected to be involved, as they lack match fitness.

  Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has said that the improved Spurs side might finish between fourth and sixth this season and would claim a UEFA Cup place at the very least, but he did not think the club was in a position to challenge for the title quite yet.

  MEHSTG's no-spin story ... From the Sky Sports website ... "West Ham goalkeeper Roy Carroll has been ruled out of Sunday's clash with Middlesbrough after suffering a freak training ground injury.  The shot-stopper, who moved to The Hammers from Manchester United in the summer, sustained a knee problem after catching his foot in a goal net during a practice session."  No doubt this happened after someone tried a 50 yard lob and Carroll dropped the ball over his shoulder and caught his foot in the net when he tried to scoop the ball back from behind the line !!

  Tottenham's hopes of moving into the Olympic stadium in Stratford has been ruled out, as athletics is considered to be the future for the ground after the 2012 Olympic Games.  This means that Spurs will have to look elsewhere for a new home, with the Stratford venue having it's capacity reduced from 90,000 for the Olympics to 25,000 afterwards.
  Martin Jol has said that striker Robbie Keane should be playing every week, but cannot accommodate all three forwards in the Spurs team.  The Tottenham Head Coach said that the Irishman was too good to be on the bench, but found it impossible to feature all three players, who he considered as "number nines", in his starting eleven.
  The Daily Mirror reckon that Keano will sign for Everton in January ... but he might want to see where they are in the league at that time.
  TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR TEAM NEWS : - Mido is a slight doubt with a thigh injury.
  MANCHESTER UNITED TEAM NEWS : - Ryan Giggs has had surgery on his fractured cheekbone picked up in the Champions League match against Lille in midweek.

  Brann of Norway claim be close to having beaten off Spurs and Chelsea to the signing of Gambian 16 year old striker Momodou Ceesay.
  The Arsenal AGM featured an admission from Arsene Wenger that he was interested in signing Jermain Defoe, Michael Carrick and Paul Robinson.  In answer to a question about his lack of English signings, the Arsenal manager told the assembled shareholders that he was in for the three players who ended up at White Hart Lane, but the Frenchman was unable to conclude deals for them.
  Former Spurs defender Christian Ziege has retired from football at the age of 33 after failing to recover from an ankle injury.

  It was confirmed today that Chris Hughton will lose his role as assistant to the manager of the Republic of Ireland national side following Brian Kerr's sacking.
  White Hart Lane will host the first leg of the play off for England to face France to qualify for the Under-21 European Championships.  The match will take place on Friday 11trh November and will kick off at 7.30 p.m.

  Mido wants talks with Martin Jol about whether Tottenham intend to sign him on a permanent basis according to the Daily Mail.  AS Roma want £4.5 million for the Egyptian striker who Spurs have on loan until the end of this season.
  The Daily Express carry a story that Spurs midfielder Johnnie Jackson wants to make his loan move to Derby County permanent.
  The reserves won at Dagenham and Redbridge's ground against West Ham United tonight with goals from Andy Reid and Lee Barnard giving Tottenham a 2-1 win.
  Spurs central defender Calum Davenport was sent off for a professional foul in the 82nd minute of Norwich City's 2-4 defeat at Luton Town tonight.
  Mounir El Hamdaoui scored his second goal for Derby County tonight against Wolverhampton Wanderers.

  MEHSTG's spin story ... The Football Association has confirmed it is liaising with police following a tunnel bust-up after Burnley's defeat to Leeds at Turf Moor.  The players from the two sides were involved in heated exchanges over the colour scheme in the passage to the dressing rooms and this could not be resolved after the match.

  Spurs are reported in the News of the World to be interested in OFK Belgrade defender Slobodan Radjkovic, who is 16 years old and would cost £3 million.  The only problem is Arsenal, Chelsea and AC Milan are all interested too.

  The Under-18s lost 1-2 at Coventry City today, with Radwan Hamed scoring the Spurs goal.
  Daniel Levy said in an interview in the Times today that the club would consider a move to the Olympic Stadium in Stratford when the games were over in 2012.  He said that as the fourth best supported team in the Premiership, they were one of the few teams who could fill it and if the stadium were looking for tenants, Spurs would be interested in making the move as he is sure the powers that be would speak to Spurs about occupying the ground.

  Hamburg manager Thomas Doll has warned Reto Ziegler, on loan from Spurs, that he has to fight for his place in the first team and because he has played a couple of international matches should not expect to walk into the side.
  TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR TEAM NEWS : -  Michael Carrick, Michael Dawson, Mido and Pyo-Young Lee are all in the squad for the meeting with Everton.  Ledley King is still only 50-50 to play. 
  EVERTON TEAM NEWS : - Mikael Arteta misses out with a head injury and David Weir picked up an ankle knock playing for Scotland, leaving Everton hopeful that Per Kroldrup (flu) and James Beattie (ankle) will be fit enough to play.
  The Independent claims that Middlesbrough are interested in Sean Davis.

  OTHER NEWS ... Roy Keane has retired from international football for the Republic of Ireland ... again !! ...   Ledley King is a doubt for Saturday's match against Everton with a dead leg picked up in last night's England match against Poland.
  However, Michael Carrick and Pyo-Young Lee are both likely to be fit along with Mido.

  Paul Robinson and Ledley King played the whole of England's 2-1 win  over Poland at Old Trafford tonight in their World Cup qualifying match.  Jermaine Jenas made his first appearance in an England shirt as a Spurs player coming on as a substitute with six minutes remaining, while Jermain Defoe remained on the bench as an unused sub.  Grzegorz Rasiak played the 90 minutes on the opposing side.
  Robbie Keane and Andy Reid both featured for the Republic of Ireland in their 0-0 draw against Switzerland, which saw them eliminated from the World Cup.  Keane played 65 minutes and Reid 80 minutes before they both got substituted.
  Teemu Tainio played in Finland's 0-3 defeat by the Czech Republic in their World Cup qualifier tonight.
  Edgar Davids was used as a 64th minute substitute for Holland in their World Cup qualifier 0-0 draw with Macedonia tonight.
  Former Spurs defender/midfielder Steve Sedgley has joined Luton Town in their youth coaching set-up.
  Mido has claimed that there is a clause in his deal with Tottenham to sign him on a permanent basis for €4.5 million he has told the Sky Sports website.
  Railtrack are working on the Liverpool Street to Enfield Town line on Saturday and therefore both Bruce Grove and White Hart Lane stations will be closed for the Everton match.

  England Under-21s, featuring Tom Huddlestone and Aaron Lennon, beat Poland 4-1.
  Emil Hallfredsson played in Iceland Under-21s 4-1 win over Sweden's Under-21s tonight.
  Marton Fulop played for Hungary Under-21s in their 2-2 draw with Croatia Under-21s tonight.
  Reto Ziegler was part of the Switzerland Under-21 side that beat the Republic of Ireland 1-0 tonight.
  Ledley King looks set to take a position in the England midfield in tomorrow's World Cup qualifier against Poland at Old Trafford.
  Tottenham's away match against Manchester City on January 2nd has been moved to Wednesday 4th January with an 8.00 p.m. kick off.
  Andy Reid is available again for the Republic of Ireland after being suspended for Saturday's World Cup match in Cyprus.
  Reserve defender Marcel McKie will be out for a few weeks after fracturing a cheekbone in last night's reserve match against Arsenal.
  Several newspapers are reporting that former Spurs midfielder Tim Sherwood is among a number of people in a consortium that is trying to buy Spanish club Malaga.
  Former Spurs manager and Director of Football is looking to fill the vacant DoF post at Portsmouth, where he has been acting as a consultant.  Velimir Zajec quit Pompey on Monday and Pleat has expressed an interest in taking over the Croatian's role.

  Michael Dawson will miss England Under-21s final European Championship qualifier on Tuesday because of a slight hamstring pull.
  The News of the World claims that Spurs are watching French striker Abdoulaye Balde, who plays for Amiens.  The 19 year old starred in the recent European Championships which saw France beat England in the final.  Sky Sports report that Spurs had a £700,000 bid knocked back before the transfer deadline closed.

  Paul Robinson started the England match against Austria at Old Trafford this afternoon, while Ledley King came on as a 62nd minute substitute as England won 1-0.  England qualify for the World Cup finals as one of the best second place teams at least, thanks to Holland's win over the Czech Republic.
  Robbie Keane started the Republic of Ireland's 1-0 win in Cyprus but was substituted in the 88th minute of the World Cup qualifier.
  Teemu Tainio played in Finland's 0-1 World Cup defeat at home to Romania.
  Edgar Davids was an unused sub in the 2-0 Dutch win over the Czech Republic.

  Phil Ifil has said he hopes that Spurs will let him stay at Millwall for the rest fo the season and hinted that it might lead to his exit from Tottenham.  Quoted on TeamTalk, he said that if it doesn't work out at Tottenham, who knows what might happen at Millwall.  This is a strange quote, if true, as he is highly regarded by Jol and the rest of the Spurs management.
  Edgar Davids said today that he has
"found back at Spurs the pleasure of football.  I play with team-mates who give me trust and I have with Martin Jol again a top coach.  He is someone who can settle things and I can learn again - that was an important fact for why I signed. Now at Tottenham Hotspur I can move forward again."  Which is nice.
  Michael Dawson, Tom Huddlestone and Aaron Lennon, making his debut, all started the England Under-21 match against Austria at Elland Road tonight, which England lost 1-2.

  Tottenham have been linked to the Spanish striker Juan Arango of Real Mallorca.  The Venezuelan forward was watched by Spurs and two other Premier League teams (believed to be either West Ham United, Bolton Wanderers or Wigan Athletic) last weekend.  25 year old Arango, who has scored three la Liga goals in five games this season, will probably cost around £3 million and looks set to leave either in January or the summer of 2006.
  Sky Sports also claim that Olympique Lyonnais striker Florent Malouda has signed an extension to his contract to stay at the French side until 2010, thus disappointing Spurs, who had him watched recently.
  Former Spurs defender Christian Ziege fears his career might be over after he has failed to overcome an ankle injury.  The former German international has not played for Borussia Moenchengladbach for ten months and might have to give up the fight to play again should medical advice inform him that he will not play again.
  Former Spurs defender and assistant manager John Gorman has received the Manager of the Month for League Two for Wycombe Wanderers performance in September.

  Tottenham Hotspur have announced a turnover of £70.6million, which is up from £66.3 million last year.  There is an operating profit of £4.1 million after a loss of £2.7 million.
  Chairman Daniel Levy has said that the Head Coach now has to deliver on the pitch after the club have backed him with expenditure of players to boost the squad.  The ninth place finish in the Premiership last season was part of the reason why the club earned the money they did last season and although the Carling Cup exit will affect cup revenue this season, it is important for the team to have a good run in the FA Cup and finish well in the league

  Goran Bunjevcevic has broken his toe and will be out for about six weeks.  The defender sustained his injury in the reserve match at Charlton Athletic last night
  Spurs are keen to make Mido's signing permanent and with Martin Jol impressed by the attitude and commitment of the Egyptian striker, the transfer could be completed in the January transfer window.
  Former Spurs players Diego Maradona and Osvaldo Ardiles are said to be ready to buy into Brighton and Hove Albion, although the South Coast club deny any contact with the Argentinian pair.
  Spurs have submitted a planning application for the Bulls Cross development of the Academy, Training centre and Community Partnership centre.  A public exhibition will take place on Friday 21st October (2pm -8pm) and on Saturday 22nd October (10am -2pm) in the Pavilion Building, Myddelton House Sports Grounds, Bulls Cross, Enfield.

  Aaron Lennon has been called up into the England Under-21 squad for the U21 European Championship qualifying games against Austria and Poland.
  Martin Jol has said that some of the reserve midfielders can go out on loan if they ask to do so, to allow them to get first team football and come back as better players.
  Mido might be out for a while with a hamstring strain picked up late in the game at Charlton on Saturday.
  The Reserves drew 1-1 away at Charlton Athletic tonight, with Lee Barnard scoring the goal.
  A consortium including former Spurs midfielder Paul Gascoigne has made a bid to buy Kettering Town.
