The Olympic Park Legacy Company have withdrawn from
negotiations with West Ham United over their occupancy of
the Olympic Stadium following concerns over the legal
challenges against the decision dragging on through the
courts. Both Tottenham and Leyton Orient had hearings
for judicial reviews over the way the selection of West Ham
United was conducted and how the London Borough of Newham

through their bid. Additionally, there had been an
anonymous complaint to the European Commission about how the
process was conducted.
The club issued a statement on the club website stating "We
welcome the OPLC decision to end the current Olympic Stadium
bid process. We firmly believe that the bid we put
forward was, in fact, a realistic sporting solution for the
stadium, along with a substantial return for the taxpayer,
community programming and athletics provision."
West Ham United and Leyton Orient have both said they will
bid to be the £2 million a year tenants of the stadium,
while Spurs have not made any comment as yet about their
intentions.
