   Tottenham lost 1-2 at Norwich City in the Fifth Round of the League Cup tonight.  For a match report click here.
   Steven Caulker is one of two England players charged by Serbian Police with violence at a sporting event.  From the TV pictures I saw at the time, the only thing Caulker could be charged with is being pushed in the back by a Serbian coach, who was also brave enough to squirt water into the face of Leeds United defender Tom Lees (the other England player charged), while standing behind a Serbian player.
   Tottenham's NextGen team drew 1-1 away at Anderlecht today, with the Spurs goal coming from a Nabil Bentaleb penalty.
   Tottenham's away game at QPR has been moved to Monday 14th January with a 20:00 kick off for live TV coverage, unless either side is involved in an FA Cup Third Round tie replay, when it will revert to Saturday 12th January at 15:00.
Manchester United's visit to White Hart Lane is also to be televised live with a 16:00 kick off on Sunday 20th January.

   Tottenham beat Southampton 2-1 at St. Mary's this afternoon.  Click here for a match report.
   The Sun claim that Real Madrid are ready to offer Spurs Fabio Coentrao in part of a £50 million bid for Gareth Bale in the summer.

   MEHSTG's no-spin story ... That fine referee Mark Clattenburg finally got a couple of decisions right in a game, sending off Branislav Ivanovic and Fernando Torres, as well as allowing an offside goal for Manchester United as they beat Chelsea 3-2 today.

   The Daily Mirror reports that Real Madrid are planning a £50 million bid for Gareth Bale in the summer, as Jose Mourinho sees him as vital to the club's progress and the Spanish team might start shedding players such as Kaka and Mezut Ozil to clear the way for the massive bid for the Welshman.
   Spurs and Chelsea have been warned off a January move for Marseille striker Loic Remy.
   Manchester United, Spurs and Arsenal are said to be watching the situation at Glasgow Celtic, where Nigerian midfielder Victor Wanyama has allegedly turned down the offer of a new contract, but manager Neil Lennon has said he rates the player at £25 million, the Daily Mirror reckons.
   Spurs Under-21s beat Manchester United U21 4-2 at Hotspur Way this morning with goals from Milos Veljkovic, Cristian Ceballos, Nabil Bentaleb and Jon Obika.

   TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR TEAM NEWS :-  Tottenham are still unable to consider Scott Parker (Achilles), Younes Kaboul (knee) and Benoit Assou-Ekotto (knee), but have Emmanuel Adebayor (back), Mousa Dembele (hip) and Gareth Bale (paternity leave) back and availableMichael Dawson should be on the bench again after a migraine kept him out on Thursday and Brad Freidel could return in goal.
   SOUTHAMPTON TEAM NEWS : -
Uruguayan forward Gaston Ramirez is out of Sunday's match with a hamstring injury and Frazier Richardson (leg) and Jack Cork (knee) are also likely to be missing.  Forward Tadanari Lee has got over his elbow injury and Luke Shaw might make his first League start.  Left back Danny Fox carrying a knock that might keep him out..

   Tottenham drew 1-1 away to Maribor in the Europa League tonight.  For a match report, click here.
   The Daily Mail report that Spurs might miss out on Joao Moutinho as the Porto midfielder might chose to move to Paris St Germain where he can earn a great deal more.
   Conversely, Willian is willing to take a wage cut to leave Shakthar Donetsk to join Spurs or Chelsea in the January transfer window, according to the Daily Telegraph.

   The Spurs NextGen side drew 2-2 at Hotspur Way with Wolfsburg this afternoon, when two Alex Pritchard goals were cancelled out in the second half, the equaliser coming four minutes into injury time at the end of the game.
   Ryan Fredericks has ended his loan spell with Brentford and has returned to White Hart Lane.

   The Daily Mirror claim Southampton will make a January transfer window swoop for Michael Dawson to shore up their very leaky defence.
   In The Metro, they claim Spurs will renew their interest in Shakthar Donetsk's Brazilian midfielder Willian in January, with the player claiming Andre Villas-Boas has kept in touch with him since the summer.

   CRIME WATCH ... the man who attacked Chris Kirkland has been jailed for 16 weeks and given a six year banning order from all ground in the country ...

   The Sunday Mirror has a report that Spurs will make a January transfer window swoop for Crystal Palace's England Under-21 striker Wilfred Zaha, who is believed to be worth £20 million by his club.  It is claimed Tottenham would be willing to pay £10 million down with the rest spread over a five year deal.
   In the Sun, Emmanuel Adebayor thinks his Spurs career might be over before it starts.  As well as wanting to go to the African Cup of Nations with Togo in January (as reported in the Mirror), the player feels he is being frozen out by Andre Villas-Boas and wants showdown talks with a view to leaving as he wants to play.  Rumours have been circulating for a few weeks about his non-appearance, with various theories put forward as to why he has not been starting.


   OTHER NEWS ... Gloucestershire Police have arrested a Cheltenham man with a view to charging him with an assault on Sheffield Wednesday goalkeeper Chris Kirkland, after a Leeds United fan ran onto the pitch in Friday's game at Hillsborough and punched him in the face ...

   Tottenham lost 2-4 to Chelsea at White Hart Lane this afternoon.  Click here for a match report.
   Gareth Bale missed the match as he was called to attend as his partner went into labour with their first child.
   The Daily Mail report that Emmanuel Adebayor has had a crisis meeting with Andre Villas-Boas about his Spurs future.
   Nottingham Forest may be ready to send Jermaine Jenas back to Tottenham, as manager Sean O'Driscoll was not keen on the move but was over-ruled by the club's owners
   Shaquille Coulthirst and Daniel Akindayini scored the goals as the Spurs Under-18s came back from a goal down at Sunderland to win in the FA Premier Academy League today.

   Sky Sports are claiming Manchester United are keen on Ryan Shawcross and will be rivals with Arsenal and Spurs for the Stoke City defender's signature in January.
   Young midfielder Jack Munns has joined Aldershot on a one month loan deal.

   TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR TEAM NEWS : - Spurs are without Scott Parker (Achilles) and Younes Kaboul (knee) for Saturday's match with Chelsea, but Kyle Naughton and Jake Livermore may be available for the game after overcoming their recent injuries.  Tottenham expect to have Benoit Assou-Ekotto back in training net week, but he will not feature on Saturday.
   CHELSEA TEAM NEWS : -  John Terry is suspended for the game for racist comments mad to Anton Ferdinand last year, while Daniel Sturridge will be back in the squad.  Frank Lampard and Ryan Bertand are both doubtful for the Spurs game.

   The Guardian claim Scott Parker could be out until Christmas following surgery on his Achilles tendon injury.
   Lazio have been fined £32,500 for racist chants by their fans aimed at Spurs players in the Europa League draw at White Hart Lane on 20th September.

   Jermain Defoe played 67 minutes of England's 1-1 draw in Poland in the country's World Cup qualifying match this afternoon, while Kyle Walker and Aaron Lennon were unused substitutes.
   Danny Rose has been criticised by the Serbian FA for his "inappropriate, unsportsmanlike and vulgar" behaviour after the game with the England Under21s last night, but also went on to say there were no grounds to claims that there was racial chanting at the match.
   Former Spurs keeper from 1978 to 1982, Milija Aleksic suddenly died in Johannesburg.  MEHSTG is saddened to hear this news and sends it's condolences to his family and friends at this sad time.
   Tottenham have turned down an official written approach by Blackburn Rovers for Tim Sherwood, who is the Ewood Park club's number one choice to fill their vacant manager's job.

   Jermain Defoe was due to play in England's World Cup qualifier in Warsaw against Poland, but the match was postponed as the pitch was waterlogged and they couldn't closer the roof.  The game is scheduled to take place tomorrow.
   Mousa Dembele and Jan Vertonghen played the 90 minutes for Belgium, as they beat Scotland 2-0 in Brussells in their World Cup qualifying group.
   Wales lost 0-2 to Croatia away in their World Cup qualifier and Gareth Bale played the whole match.
   Hugo Lloris saved a penalty in France's 1-1 away draw with Spain in the World Cup qualifying match.
   Iceland lost their home qualifying match against Switzerland and Gylfi Sigurdsson was involved for the whole 90 minutes.
   Sandro came on as a last minute substitute in Brazil's 4-0 friendly win over Japan in Wroclaw, Poland.
   Two goals by Clint Dempsey helped the USA to a 3-1 win over Guatemala in Kansas to take them to the top of their World Cup qualifying group.
   Andros Townsend was an unused substitute for England Under-21s as they beat Serbia 1-0 away to go through to the finals in Israel next year 2-0 on aggregate.  Steven Caulker and Adam Smith played the whole 90 minutes, picking up yellow cards, while Danny Rose got a red card after the final whistle for a second bookable offence, only to be racially abused when he walked off, with players and coaches involved in a massive fight instigated by the Serbian players and staff.
   The Daily Mirror reckons Daniel Sturridge will look to move on from Stamford Bridge in January, with Liverpool and Tottenham keen on the young forward.

   Spurs Under-21s beat Southampton Under-21s 4-2 away today with the goals coming from a Cristian Ceballos hat-trick and Jon Obika.
   Spurs, Juventus and AS Roma are being linked with Feyenoord's 21 year old midfielder Jordy Clasie.

   Spurs are set to nip in ahead of Arsenal and Manchester City to sign Crystal Palace's 19 year old striker Wilfred Zaha, by offering £8 million for the England Under-21 international, the Sunday People writes.
   Emmauel Adebayor scored to help Togo gain a 2-1 win over Gabon to go through to the finals on a 3-2 aggregate score-line.

   Spurs Under-18s lost 1-3 to Manchester United on a visit to the Carrington training ground in the Premier U18 League today.  Tottenham's goal came from Joshua Onomah.

   Kyle Walker played all 90 minutes of England's 5-0 win over San Marino at Wembley in a World Cup qualifying match tonight.  Aaron Lennon came on as a 10th minute substitute, while Jermain Defoe stayed on the bench as an unused substitute
   Gareth Bale was the Wales hero with two goals - one a penalty - that turned around the match against Scotland at Wales in a World Cup qualifier.  Wales were trailing, but Bale's two strikes ensured a first three points for his country in this campaign as they went on to win 2-1.
   Both Jan Vertonghen and Mousa Dembele played all of Belgium's 3-0 away win against Serbia in their World Cup qualifying game tonight.
   A winning goal from Gylfi Sigurdsson gave Iceland a 2-1 away World Cup qualifying win over Albania tonight.
   Clint Dempsey played 90 minutes as the USA beat Antigua & Barbuda in Antigua tonight.  Former Spurs youngster Zaine Francis-Angol played for Antigua & Barbuda.
   France suffered a 0-1 friendly loss to Japan in Paris tonight, with Hugo Lloris playing in goal for the French.
   Bongani Khumalo played the whole of South Africa's 0-1 friendly defeat to Poland in Warsaw tonight.
   Steven Caulker, Danny Rose and Adam Smith both started the England U21 game in the first leg of the play-off against Serbia, which they won 1-0 at Carrow Road tonight.  Smith was brought down for the penalty that wont he match for England.  Andros Townsend made his Under-21 debut as a 65th minute substitute and almost set up a goal with a free-kick that Caulker met with his head, but the keeper made a very good stop.
   Tottenham's NextGen matches against Anderlecht have now had dates arranged for them.  Spurs travel to play in the Constant Vanden Stock stadium in Brussels on Wednesday October 31st with the game kicking off at 19:30 local time (18:30 UK time), while the home tie will take place at Hotspur Way on Thursday 13th December, with a 13:00 kick off.
   Spurs are linked with a move for 27 year old Turkish striker, Burak Yilmaz according to TalkSport, who claim Liverpool and West Ham United are also interested in the Galatasaray forward, who might fetch £13 million.
   Internazionale are Tottenham's main rivals for Borussia Moenchengladbach' s 21 year old midfielder Patrick Hermann, who is rated at £7.5 million, according to the Sun.
   Former Spurs midfielder Edgar Davids has joined Barnet as joint Head Coach, alongside another former Spur Mark Robson, while the Dutch midfielder also hopes to turn out as a player for the bottom League club.

   TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR TEAM NEWS :-  Spurs will bring back William Gallas and Brad Freidel into the side to face Aston Villa on Sunday.  Still ruled out are Scott Parker (Achilles), Jake Livermore (groin), Kyle Naughton (ankle), Younes Kaboul (knee) and Benoit Assou-Ekotto (knee).  However, Emmanuel Adebayor (hamstring) hopes to make the game.
   ASTON VILLA TEAM NEWS :-   Paul Lambert will have to decide whether to re-instate former Spurs forward Darren Bent to the starting line-up after his goal earned Villa a point against West Bromwich Albion last week.  Richard Dunne's groin injury and Stephen Ireland's broken arm keep them side-lined.

   Spurs have been chosen for three more TV live broadcasts before the end of the year and the fixtures to change are ...
Swansea City (home) moved from Saturday 15th December to Sunday 16th December with a 13:30 kick off.
Aston Villa (way) still on Wednesday 26th December but will now kick off at 17:30.
Sunderland (away) still Saturday 29th December but will now kick off at 12:45.

   MEHSTG's spin story ... Former Arsenal captain Tony Adams told the BBC on their website today "My experience of Arsene Wenger is that he's very offensive and it's going to be very difficult for Steve (Bould)."  That confirms a lot of opinions on the Arsenal manager.

   Tottenham drew 1-1 with Panathinaikos in Athens tonight.  For a match report click here.
   The League Cup Fourth Round tie away at Norwich City has been set for Wednesday 31st October with a 19:45 kick off.
   Jermain Defoe, Aaron Lennon and Kyle Walker have all been picked for the England squad to play Poland and San Marino in the World Cup qualifiers in the coming week.
   In the Sun, Alan Pardew has denied that Spurs made a summer bid for Newcastle United midfielder Yohan Cabaye, after the player said Tottenham wanted him to replace Luka Modric.
   TalkSport claim that Spurs and Liverpool are watching Wilfred Zaha's situation at Crystal Palace, with manager Dougie Freedman saying that he will let the young striker know when he is ready to leave the South London club.

   MEHSTG's spin story ... England manager Roy Hodgson told a tube train full of people that he was the best man for the job today.  A full apology is expected tomorrow.

   Steven Caulker, Danny Rose, Andros Townsend and Adam Smith have all been included in the England Under-21 squad for the play-off double header against Serbia on the 12th and 16th October.
   Spurs will not be returning to Portugal to sign Joao Moutinho in January as he is committed to the project at Porto and wishes to stay.
   Another person linked with Spurs who wants to stay with his current job is Franco Baldini the Daily mail reports, but the London Evening Standard reckons he may be out of a job at AS Roma soon and thus could end up as Tottenham's Director of Football, although they have also looked at Txiki Beguiristain formerly of Barcelona and Sporting Lisbon's Antero Henrique..

   The Under-21s game against Southampton, which was postponed on 25th September because the Saints Staplewood training ground pitch was waterlogged, will now take place on Monday 17th October kicking off at 14:30.
   Goalkeeper Jordan Archer's loan spell at Wycombe Wanderers has been extended by a further seven days.
