   The Daily Mirror claims that Toronto FC of the MLS want Jermain Defoe and manager and former Spurs defender Ryan Nelsen would be willing to have him as their designated player, who they can break their pay cap for and he would get £90,000 a week.
   In the Daily Mail, Alexandre Pato is reported as saying that he was wanted by Spurs in the August transfer window, but he chose to stay at Corinthians.
   Former Spurs goalkeeper and co-manager Ray Clemence has retired as the FA's Head of Teams.

   Tottenham beat Hull City 8-7 on penalties after drawing 2-2 after extra time in the Fourth Round of the League Cup.  The game was level at 1-1 at the end of 90 minutes.  Click here for a match report.

   CRIME WATCH ... Seven Charlton Athletic fans were today found guilty of racist behaviour on a train following a FA Cup tie with Fulham,  Six have been given custodial sentences ranging from 6 months to 18 months, while the seventh has a six month sentence suspended for 18 months.  All have received banning orders from all ground in England ... Steve Bruce has been charged by the FA with misconduct after his comments that the referee's decision to give a penalty to Spurs on Hull City's Premier League visit to White Hart Lane was "a joke".

   Spurs have been linked with a move for FC Basle winger Mohamed Salah, along with Liverpool, according to the Daily Mail.
   The Daily Star report that Besiktas will be interested in signing Emmanuel Adebayor in January, but say it will be difficult.
   Apparently, in the next few weeks, there will be large banners appearing around White Hart Lane and huge flags introduced to be passed over the crowd to improve the atmosphere, according to journalist Andy Brassell on TalkSport this morning.
   Former Spurs midfielder Gareth Bale has been nominated for the FIFA World Player of the Year award.

   Apparently, the Daily Mail say that Tottenham have "secret plans" to build a 65,000 seater stadium, which would host an American Football franchise from the NFL in London.  This would conflict with the FA, who hope to get more money in to pay off for Wembley by staging matches there on a regular basis.

   The Daily Star and the Daily Express reckon Spurs will bid £28 million for Christian Benteke in the January transfer window.
   TalkSport claim that Fenerbahce are to nip in to sign 30 year old Juventus striker Mirko Vucinic ahead of Spurs and Manchester United in the January transfer window.
   Pierre-Emerick Auygemang of Borussia Dortmund has said he was set to join Spurs in the summer of 2012 from Olympique Lyonnais, but the deal went "weird" and the striker would never join the club now he told the Metro.
   Tottenham Hotspur Under-12s will play Reading at Bishops Stortford FC on Monday 4th November with a 19:00 kick off.  Prices are £5 for adults and £2 for concessions.

   Andros Townsend has been caught in the middle of a racist furore involving a comment made by England manager Roy Hodgson at half time in the England v Poland match on Tuesday.  The manager's comments have been brushed off by Townsend, but some anti-racist organisations are pushing for an investigation, which the FA have said will not happen as they support the England boss.
   The Metro claims Spurs might make a £15 million bid for out of favour 28 year old Paris St. Germain forward Ezequiel Lavezzi.
   The Daily Star report that Real Madrid are looking at signing Paulinho and Spurs are set to offer the Brazilian midfielder a new deal to keep him at White Hart Lane.
   Former Spurs midfielder Dean Parrett has signed for Stevenage after being released at the end of last season.

   Andros Townsend played minutes of England's 2-0 home win over Poland in their World Cup qualifier that saw them reach the finals in Brazil.
   Mousa Dembele played the 90 minutes of Belgium's 1-1 home draw with Wales in Brussels, with Nacer Chadli being substituted after 58 minutes and Jan Vertonghen coming on as a substitute in the 72nd minute.
   Gylfi Sigurdsson provided the assist for the goal that earned Iceland a 1-1 draw away in Oslo with Norway in their World Cup qualifier that saw them earn a play-off place.  Gylfi completed the whole game for Iceland.
   Denmark's 6-0 win over Malta was not enough to get them into the play-offs, as they finished second in their group, but had the worst record of the group stage runners-up.  Christian Eriksen played 53 minutes before being substituted.
   Hugo Lloris' France won 3-0 at home in against Finland tonight in a World Cup group qualifier to book a play-off place.
   Brazil won a friendly in Beijing 2-0 against Zambia tonight, with Paulinho playing 62 minutes of the match before being substituted.
   Harry Kane was an unused substitute and Tom Carroll went off after 16 minutes of England Under-21s 5-0 win over Lithuania at Portman Road in a Euro U21 2015 qualifier.

   Belgium qualified for the World Cup finals in Brazil next year with a 2-1 away win over Croatia in Zagreb tonight.  Jan Vertonghen played the full 90 minutes, while Nacer Chadli was a 69th minute substitute and Mousa Dembele came off the bench in the 84th minute.
   Christian Eriksen hit the post for Denmark in their 2-2 home draw against Italy in their World Cup qualifying match in Copenhagen tonight.
   Romania won 4-0 away to Andorra in their World Cup qualifier and Vlad Chiriches played the full 90 minutes, being pulled down in the area for a penalty, which was converted for their third goal.
   Gylfi Sigurdsson scored once in Iceland's 2-0 home victory over Cyprus in a World Cup qualifier in Rekjavik tonight.
   Argentina beat Peru 3-1 in a World Cup qualifying match in Buenos Aires tonight and Erik Lamela appeared as an 81st minute substitute.
   France beat Australia 6-0 in a friendly in Paris tonight, with Hugo Lloris playing the whole match.

   Spurs are considering a transfer move for Leyton Orient right winger Moses Odubajo, who has sprung to prominence n their good run this season that sees them top League One and still unbeaten.  Tottenham are said in the Metro to be ready to bid £1 million in January, although Orient want £3 million and this may be reduced if the player, who also plays at right back, wants to push for a move.
   A Spurs XI drew 2-2 with QPR at Hotspur Way today in a friendly.  Kenneth McEvoy and Simon Dawkins hit the Tottenham goals.
   Fernando Torres received no further punishment for grabbing and scratching Jan Vertonghen's face in Saturday's match against Chelsea at White Hart Lane.  So, that means the FA are saying it is OK to carry out such actions without worry of being suspended.  Is this really the message they want to send out to footballers of all ages across the country ??
