Martin
Jol has let fly at John Gregory and Ian Dowie who were the
"expert summarisers" at the Aston Villa v Spurs match on Sky
TV. The Spurs Head Coach said Gregory was "useless" at
Aston Villa and that Ian Dowie is "not fit to mend his
shoelace". Gregory had criticised Spurs' tactics and Dowie
said he could not understand why Mendes had been played on the right,
when the Spurs coach had nobody else to play there. Jol added
that in Holland such criticism by fellow managers is not acceptable
and that he wished he could say things about the pundits, but he had
not been successful in this country yet.

hope I am the one to help them turn the corner. I know the way to

Later, Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho said there was not truth in the

dispute with Spurs, as he earns just £15,000 and wants to be given a
raise to take him nearer to other top earners at the club who get
£40,000 per week. Spurs said there is not clause in his
