   Andre Villas-Boas has told Luka Modric to concentrate on playing for Real Madrid rather than trying to tempt Gareth Bale to Spain to play his football.  The former Spurs midfielder has failed to pin down a regular place in the Real starting eleven and thinks that the Welsh wing-back should swap London for Madrid.
   TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR TEAM NEWS : -  Spurs may start Mousa Dembele and have Clint Dempsey on the bench, as both players return to their old club Fulham.  Scott Parker's Achilles injury still rules him out, while he is joined on the sidelines by Younes Kaboul (knee), Benoit Assou-Ekotto (knee) and Emmanuel Adebayor (third match of a three match suspension).  Steven Caulker should return after illness.
   FULHAM TEAM NEWS : -  Simon Davies will not be fit to face his former team, as he is suffering with a hip injury.  Hamstring victims Alex Kacaniklik and Bryan Ruiz miss out, while Brede Hangeland sees out his three match ban in the stand.  Kieron Richardson is fit again after recovering from a hamstring pull.

   The Academy Under-21 side play their last two games of the group stages away.  The first is at Sunderland's training ground on Monday 10th December with a Noon kick off and the final group match is at Aston Villa's ground a week later on Monday 17th December, kicking off at 19:00.

   TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR TEAM NEWS : -  Sandro should be fit after suffering a heavy knock on Sunday, but Scott Parker (Achilles), Benoit Assou-Ekotto (knee) and Younes Kaboul (knee) are still out.   Emmanuel Adebayor is serving the second of a three game ban and Mousa Dembele may be in contention for a start after coming on as a sub in the last two games.

   With five West Ham United fans arrested on Sunday for various offences, the Irons have banned one season ticket holder who received a caution for what the BBC website claims might have been a Nazi salute for life, with one other fan also due to be punished by the East London club.  West Ham have said they will take action against others who have been charged with offences at the game.

   Tottenham beat West Ham United 3-1 at White Hart Lane today.  Click here for a match report.
   The Observer thinks former Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp will move for Michael Dawson and Tom Huddlestone in the January transfer window and also has an interest in former Spurs striker Darren Bent

   Spurs Under-18s lost 1-2 at home to Aston Villa today with Souleymane Coulibaly scoring for Tottenham.
   Young goalkeeper Jonathan Miles has gone on loan to Brentwood Town for a month.
   Former Spurs manager Harry Redknapp has been appointed as the new manager of Queens Park Rangers.
   Apparently, Redknapp has set his sights on Scott Parker, Jermain Defoe, Michael Dawson and former Spurs striker Peter Crouch in the transfer window.

   TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR TEAM NEWS : -  Spurs have a doubt over Mousa Dembele, who only returned to action yesterday in the match at Lazio, but has some soreness in his hip.  Definitely out are Scott Parker (Achilles), Benoit Assou-Ekotto (knee), Younes Kaboul (knee) and Emmanuel Adebayor (suspension 1 of 3).
   WEST HAM UNITED TEAM NEWS : -  West Ham United will be without Yossi Benayoun (knee), Ricardo Vaz Te (shoulder), Alou Diarra (thigh) and Jack Collison (knee), but could welcome back Matt Jarvis from a thigh strain.

   The Daily Mirror reckons Spurs have failed with a £12 million offer for AS Roma winger Miralem Pjanic while they were in Rome, the second bid that has been turned down by the Italian club.
   Also in the Mirror, they run apiece about two Spurs goalies.  Former Tottenham favourite Paul Robinson is no longer wanted by Blackburn Rovers and may be a target for Fulham, where manager Martin Jol has previously worked with the ex-England keeper at Spurs.  Meanwhile, Blackburn are said to be ready to tempt Brad Friedel back to Ewood Park.
   The Sun report that Spurs are keen on buying Blackpool midfielder Thomas Ince with Liverpool also interested in the £10 million rated England Under-21 international.
   Following the attacks in Rome on Wednesday night, two men have been arrested and charged with attempted murder.  Both are believed to be fans of AS Roma.  The Italian FA have apologised for the attacks to the English FA and Tottenham Hotspur while the FA have reported anti-Semitic chanting during the game, which was also a feature of the attack on the fans in the pub.

   MEHSTG's spin story ... Arsene Wenger has had to sack his young England midfielder after a bust up in training with the club's new French striker.  He told Wilshire, "Hit Giroud Jack and don't you come back no more."

   Tottenham drew their Europa League Group J match in Rome with Lazio 0-0 tonight.  Click here for a match report.
   A group of Spurs fans were attacked by 40 masked and tooled up Italians in a Rome bar late last night, with one seriously ill after being stabbed in the head and thigh.  It is rumoured that some of those involved were fans of AS Roma and Lazio have claimed that their fans were not involved in the attack.  MEHSTG's best wishes go to the fans for a quick and full recovery from their injuries.
   Former Spurs defender Alan Hutton has left Aston Villa to join Nottingham Forest on loan until 2nd January 2013.
  
This Saturday club legend Gary Mabbutt will be signing copies of new books "The Biography of Tottenham Hotspur" and "Those Glory, Glory Nights", along with the updated "Spurs Miscellany" at Waterstones in Walthamstow and Enfield. He will be starting the day at Walthamstow from 11:00-Noon before moving on to Enfield for a 13:00 start.  For more information click here.


   OTHER NEWS ... Mark Clattenburg has been cleared of charges of making a racist remark to Jon Obi Mikel during the Chelsea v Manchester United game in the Premier League, but the FA have charged Mikel with using threatening and/or abusive and/or insulting words and/or behaviour after the same match ... Prospect, the referee's union have demanded that Chelsea make a full apology to the referee and make a substantial donation to the anti-racist organisations Kick It Out and Show Racism the Red Card ...

   The club website reports that Scott Parker has returned to light training with the first team after being out since before the end of last season with an Achilles tendon injury.

   In the Daily Star they claim that Andre Villas-Boas will be handed £20 million in January to spend, with CSKA Moscow striker Alan Dzagoev and AS Roma winger Miralem Pjanic high on his list of recruits.
   The Metro reports that Real Madrid and Barcelona might be interested in Spurs youth team players Alex Pritchard and Shaquile Coulthirst, probably a link to their performances against Barcelona in the NextGen competition two weeks ago.

   CRIME WATCH ... Paul Lambert is to serve a one match touchline ban after the Premier League heard a case concerning his comments after the 0-5 defeat by Manchester City ... Norwich City defender Sebastien Bassong has been charged with possession of an offensive weapon after being found with a police-style baton in his car in Kings Cross.  He was fined £1,000, a victim surcharge of £100 and £85 in costs ...

   Emmanuel Adebayor will miss the next three Spurs Premier League matches after being sent off at Arsenal on Saturday.

   MEHSTG's spin story ... Bernard Challandes has not received the 100% backing of his players, who said they didn't won't to work under him any more and so he has left the Swiss club FC Thun.  It seems the players felt it just wasn't Thun anymore.

   Tottenham lost 2-5 to Arsenal at the Emirates stadium this afternoon.  Click here for a match report.
   Tottenham's Under-18s beat Stoke City 4-3 at Hotspur Way this afternoon, with a goal from Roman Michael-Percil and a hat-trick from Kenneth McEvoy.
   The Daily Mirror claim that Barcelona will not get drawn into an auction for Gareth Bale, leaving the way open for Real Madrid, who are willing to offer Spurs £40 million and the Welsh wing-back £150,00 a week.

   TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR TEAM NEWS  : - Scott Parker (Achilles), Benoit Assou-Ekotto (knee), Mousa Dembele (hip) and Younes Kaboul (knee) are all still out and there are also doubts over the likely participation of Kyle Walker, Aaron Lennon and Jermain Defoe, who are all suffering with pulled hamstrings.

   Steven Caulker made his England debut in the 2-4 defeat to Sweden in Stockholm tonight, but he did  score the second England goal before being substituted in the 74th minute, when Tom Huddlestone came on to replace Steven Gerrard.
   Belgium lost 1-2 to Romania in Bucharest in a friendly, with Jan Vertonghen playing the full 90 minutes.
  Hugo Lloris was in goal as France beat Italy 2-1 in a friendly in Parma tonight .
   Jordan Archer played in Scotland Under-21s 2-3 friendly defeat in Setubal tonight.
   Spurs youth midfielder of the early 1990s Del Deanus, who was formerly joint manager of Enfield Town and had suffered with motor neurone disease for many years, sadly died today.  MEHSTG sends it condolences to his family and friends.

   Andros Townsend and Adam Smith both played the opening 60 minutes of the England Under-21s 2-0 win over Northern Ireland U21 at Blackpool tonight.


   OTHER NEWS ... The Metropolitan Police have dropped an investigation into alleged racist remarks made by referee Mark Clattenburg against Jon-Obi Mikel in the recent Premier League game at Stamford Bridge against Manchester United because of lack of evidence ...

   Roy Hodgson wanted to recall Jermain Defoe into the England squad for Wednesday's friendly against Sweden in Stockholm, but the striker is injured and was therefore unavailable for the trip.
   Spurs Under-21s beat Southampton 4-0 at White Hart Lane tonight, with their goals scored by Iago Falque 2, Jon Obika and Souleymane Coulibaly.

   Tottenham lost 1-2 to Manchester city at the Etihad Stadium this afternoon.  Click here for a match report.
   Tom Huddlestone has been called into the England squad to face Sweden in Stockholm in a friendly on Wednesday after a number of players dropped out through injury over the weekend.  Aaron Lennon and Kyle Walker are two of the players who have withdrawn from the squad.
   Adam Smith and Andros Townsend are in the England Under-21 squad for the friendly against Northern Ireland at Blackpool on Tuesday.

   Ipswich Town have cut short the loan of Massimo Luongo, as new manager Mick McCarthy needs a "different type of player" at the moment and hasn't played for five weeks, so he will return to White Hart Lane.
   The Under-19s lost 3-4 to Southampton away today, coming back from 0-4 down and not quite managing to pull of a spectacular turnaround.  the goals came from a Laste Dombaxe penalty, Roman Michael-Percil and Victor Zapata-Caicedo.

   MEHSTG's no-spin story ... Marca, the Spanish newspaper runs a story on it's website claiming that Luka Modric is being given one-to-one tuition with the assistant manager to try to get his performances to a level that are acceptable to Real Madrid.  They say "Mourinho had already said that Modric would need time.  He knows that he's come from a very different style of football and the pressures associated with playing at Real Madrid are very different to those at Tottenham, where nobody criticised him."

   The Sun claims that Spurs and Newcastle United have shown interest in signing Blackpool's former Liverpool midfielder and Thomas Ince, son of Paul Ince. The player is rated at £8 million by the Seasiders.

   TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR TEAM NEWS : -   Spurs are likely to be without Jake Livermore (knock), Sandro (calf) and Mousa Dembele (hip) for the visit of Maribor tomorrow night in the Europa League.  Long term absentees Scott Parker (Achilles), Benoit Assou-Ekotto (knee) and Younes Kaboul (knee) are all still sidelined.
   The Independent claims that Spurs may make a move for £7 million rated Klaas-Jan Huntelaar of Schalke 04 in January, as he will be out of contract at the end of the season and the 29 year old does not intend to stay in the Bundesliga.
   Andre Villas-Boas is quoted in the Daily Mirror as saying that the club has no intention of selling Emmanuel Adebayor in January.
   Tottenham's NextGen side won 4-1 away in Barcelona today, with Shaquile Coulthirst's hat-trick and Alex Pritchard's goal giving Spurs a memorable win in the Min Estadia.
   A new organisation called the Society of Black Lawyers is getting involved in football, believing to want to form a black players organisation.  They are saying that players who use racist language against black players should be banned for up to nine months and sacked by their clubs, while issuing a demand that Tottenham Hotspur should stop the use of the word "Yid" by their supporters by 20th November or they will report incidents to the Metropolitan Police as racist incidents.  Tottenham issued a statement refuting the threat of action stating that the use of the words is not intended to offend and thus would not fall under anti-racism legislation.

   Tottenham lost 0-1 to Wigan Athletic at White Hart Lane this afternoon.  Click here for a match report.
   The Under-21 Premier League Academy side beat Newcastle United at Hotspur Way 6-0 this morning.  Tottenham's scorers were Ryan Mason (pen), Cristian Ceballos, Dean Parrett, Alex Pritchard and Jon Obika 2.
   Our Under-18 side were 4-1 victors over Newcastle United at Hotspur Way this morning with goals from Kenneth McEvoy, Roman Michael-Percil, William Miller and a Laste Dombaxe penalty turning the match in Tottenham's favour.

   WIGAN ATHLETIC TEAM NEWS : -  The Latics visit White Hart Lane without Albert Crusat (knee), Ryo Miyaichi and Antolin Alcaraz (both groin) available to Roberto Martinez for selection.
   The Metro claims that Spurs are lining up another Belgian defender from Ajax, with Toby Alderweireld their target.  The 23 year old is being watched by 15 clubs and is thought to favour a move to England, although any January deal could see him loaned back to the Dutch club for the rest of the season.
   The Daily Mail has reported that Youth manager Alex Inglethorpe is leaving the club to join Liverpool as reserve team manager.
   Goalkeeper Jordan Archer has extended his loan at Wycombe Wanderers for another two months.

   TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR TEAM NEWS : -  Emmanuel Adebayor has overcome the stomach illness he suffered that kept him out of the League Cup tie at Norwich yesterday and Jake Livermore hoped to shake of  the knock he picked up in that game.  Tottenham are still without Scott Parker (Achilles), Younes Kaboul (knee) and Benoit Assou-Ekotto (knee).
