Tottenham are reported in the German media to be interested in signing 25 year old Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Thorgan Hazard, brother of Eden, but Chelsea have a buy-back first option on the player.  West Ham United London are interested in buying Victor Wanyama from Spurs in January the Daily Mail reports, while Real Madrid are planning a GBP58.5 million move for Davinson Sanchez.  Genk's 20 year old Norwegian midfielder Sander Berge is a €25 million target for Spurs in the January transfer window.

Tottenham have taken up the option to extend Toby Alderweireld's contract until the summer of 2020, but this also includes a clause that he will be able to move on if club's meet the GBP25 million asking price.
Monaco are interested in both Georges-Kevin Nkoudou and Mousa Dembele, with some reports indicating that Spurs might be interested if the Ligue 1 club would swap Youri Tielemens, the Belgian international midfielder, as part of the deal.  Other reports claim Galatasaray have agreed terms with Fernando Llorente, but now the Turkish club will have to persuade Tottenham to agree a price for the former Swansea City forward.

TEAM NEWS :-  Spurs will be without Jan Vertonghen (hamstring), Vincent Janssen (foot), Victor Wanyama (knee), Eric Dier (appendicitis) and Mousa Dembele (ankle) who are all ruled out of selection for this game, while Moussa Sissoko might be rested and Dele Alli will have his hamstring pull suffered on Sunday evening at Everton assessed to see whether he can take part.
Bournemouth have Lewis Cook, Dan Gosling and former Spurs full back Adam Smith all ruled out long term with knee problems, but Ryan Fraser is pushing for a return after overcoming a hamstring strain.

Yesterday Jermain Defoe was presented with a League Cup Winners medal for Tottenham's triumph in 2008.  He played in the early rounds but left to join Portsmouth before the final and the EFL have now finally recognised his part in the success.
Tottenham's League Cup semi-final first leg game against Chelsea at Wembley will take place on Tuesday 8th January with a 20.00 kick off.  The capacity will be limited to 51,000.
Spurs have been linked with a January move for Barcelona midfielder Rafinha, who has been struggling to get first team action at the Nou Camp.  Sunderland could be looking to offload 19 year old striker Josh Maja for as little as GBP1.5 million, while Tottenham's reported interest in Hull City's 22 year old striker Jarrod Bowen could cost them GBP10 million according to the Express.  Alternatively, Spurs could be after the Bournemouth Norwegian international striker Josh King if you believe the Sun.

Memos, which have allegedly leaked out of Haringey Council, show that Tottenham Hotspur are not satisfied with the cleaning of the streets around the ground, leaving their new stadium at risk of failing to become “one of the world’s most unique entertainment venues”, according to The Guardian .

Unsurprisingly, with nothing else to write about at Christmas time, the journos have been speculating about what will happen to Mauricio Pochettino, as if he didn't have a say in it himself.  One line of thinking is that Manchester United will move for not only the manager, but also John McDermott to take over their Academy and they will bring Paul Mitchell back from RB Leipzig to re-unite him with Mauricio at Old Trafford as Head of Recruitment.  With Kieran McKenna already there as first team coach, it is nice to see that as well as not being able to function without signing some of our top players over the years, they now can't manage without our management staff.  An alternative view touted later in the day was that Real Madrid are willing to offer Spurs Gareth Bale in exchange for Pochettino.  With neither club doing as well as Spurs at the moment, although possessing greater financial resources, you could only think that Pochettino might think he can turn these regressive oil tankers of clubs around.  One thought that hasn't struck the light bulbs in the writer's heads is that he might stay at Tottenham where the project continues to develop.
Tottenham have allegedly been in touch with Bayern Munich to sign Mats Hummels in January, should he leave the Bundesliga club.
The Under-18s travelled away to Middlesbrough in the U18 League Cup today and twice came from behind to draw 2-2 with goals from Rodel Richards and Rayan Clarke to secure a place in the quarter-finals of the competition.

TEAM NEWS : -  Davinson Sanchez and Juan Foyth are up for consideration for the game at Everton on Sunday, with Foyth having been on the bench on Wednesday's League Cup tie at Arsenal.  Eric Dier is out of hospital, but Serge Aurier, Mousa Dembele, Jan Vertonghen and Victor Wanyama are al injured, so will not be ready for the match.
For Everton, Idrissa Gueye will have a late fitness test, but Richarlison and Andre Gomes have both been declared fit for the match.

The Spurs Press Officer had to step in to prevent a persistent line of questioning by a Sky Sports journalist, who wanted to ask a question about what Les Reed said.  What relevance that had to the pre-match press conference for the Everton game, who knows ?
Following the league game at the Emirates, Spurs and Arsenal have been fined for the players "failing to conduct themselves in an orderly fashion".  Arsenal were fined GBP45,000 and Tottenham GBP50,000, as both clubs pleaded guilty by letter.  In the FA's report on the investigation, a player called "Erikson" was involved.  Would you rely on these people in a court case ?.
Arsenal have apologised to Dele Alli and Tottenham for the bottle being thrown during last night's game.  They have identified an image of the person who threw it and will be trying to find out who he is along with the Metropolitan Police to ban him from the stadium and to press charges.  On top of that, videos have been posted online of Arsenal supporters making Anti-Semitic gestures and spitting to Spurs fans.  These are also being looked at by the Police and Arsenal to identify the sad individuals.

Tottenham's Under-23s lost 0-3 away to Oxford United in the EFL Trophy tonight.
With Jose Mourinho losing his job, speculation inevitably turns to Mauricio Pochettino taking over at Old Trafford, because Gary Neville says he should.  Rumours circulate that Spurs will want GBP34 million compensation for the manager to move North, but I think they could squeeze more out of United if he really wants to go.

Tottenham have been drawn against Borussia Dortmund in the Round of 16 in the Champions League.  The first leg will be at home on Wednesday 15th February 2019 with the return match in Germany on Tuesday 5th March.  Both legs will kick off at 20.00 (UK time).
TV live coverage fixtures have been announced for February and Spurs will play : -
Newcastle United (home)  on Saturday 2nd February with a 12.30 kick off (Sky Sports)
Leicester City (home) on Sunday 10th February - kick off 13.30 (Sky Sports)
Burnley (away) on Saturday 23rd February - k.o. 12.30 (Sky Sports)
Chelsea (away) on Wednesday 25th February kicking off at 20.00 (BT Sport)
The Youth team were in action tonight and they beat Millwall at the Den, winning 2-1 in extra time in the Third Round of the FA Youth Cup.  The goals came from J'Neil Bennett, who equalised on the 93rd minute and Rodel Richards four minutes into extra time.  Tottenham will now meet Arsenal in the next round.
Our Under-19 side have been drawn away to PAOK of Athens in the next knock out round of the UEFA Youth League competition on Tuesday 19th February.
In the FA Cup Third Round, Spurs will play away to Tranmere Rovers on Friday 4th January with the game kicking off at 19.45 and to be screened live by BT Sport.
Spurs and Arsenal are both keen on signing Hoffenheim's 23 year old midfielder Florian Grillitsch, while in the Daily Mirror, they claim Spurs will sign Barcelona's 19 year old midfielder Riqui Puig, to plan for the losses of Victor Wanyama and Mousa Dembele.

Mauricio Pochettino has said that he does not expect to add new faces to the Spurs squad in January and that he wants Kyle Walker-Peters to stay at Spurs rather than go out on loan.

The Under-19s beat Barcelona 2-0 in the UEFA Youth League at the Mini Nou Camp this afternoon.  The goals from Troy Parrott and Rodel Richards were enough to see the side through to the next stage of the competition.
In the Sun, Spurs and Manchester United are said to be looking at a move for Romanian striker Dennis Man, 20, who plays for FCSB (formerly Steaua Bucharest).

Today's rumours include a GBP40 million bid for Mauricio Pochettino being weighed up by Manchester United to take over form Jose Mourinho; Feyenoord midfielder Tonny Vilhena, 23, is in the club's thoughts as the January transfer window approaches; 20 year old Bristol City defender Lloyd Kelly is being watched by Spurs and Liverpool; The Daily Star reckons Barcelona want Harry Kane and are willing to pay GBP200 million, but with the game against Spurs on Tuesday, this may be the usual ploy to distract  a player you are about to face.  .  .
Spurs Under-21s will play away to Oxford United in the Checkatrade Trophy Second Round on 18th December with a 17.45 kick off.
The Under-18s match against Swansea City on Saturday 5th January 2019 will now kick-off at 11.00 not at 13.00 as originally announced.
