Unsurprisingly,
with nothing else to write about at Christmas time, the
journos have been speculating about what will happen to
Mauricio Pochettino, as if he didn't have a say in it
himself. One line of thinking is that Manchester
United will move for not only the manager, but also John
McDermott to take over their Academy and they will bring
Paul Mitchell back from RB Leipzig to re-unite him
with Mauricio at Old Trafford as Head of Recruitment.
With Kieran McKenna already there as first team coach, it is
nice to see that as well as not being able to function
without signing some of our top players over the years, they
now can't manage without our management staff. An
alternative view touted later in the day was that Real
Madrid are willing to offer Spurs Gareth Bale in
exchange for Pochettino. With neither club doing as
well as Spurs at the moment, although possessing greater
financial resources, you could only think that Pochettino
might think he can turn these regressive oil tankers of
clubs around. One thought that hasn't struck the light
bulbs in the writer's heads is that he might stay at
Tottenham where the project continues to develop.
Tottenham have
allegedly been in touch with Bayern Munich to sign Mats
Hummels in January, should he leave the Bundesliga club.
The Under-18s
